Always
An Aquarium and a Sex Swing
Three weeks later, and with two months to go, Liz was laying on the couch at her apartment staring at the TV blankly as she had done for the past 3 weeks of her life. She sighed and clicked the TV off tossing the remote on the table in front of her. Julie peeked her head around the wall from the kitchen to check on Liz.
"Everything okay over there?"
"No. If I have to lay on this couch for one more day I'm going to go insane. INSANE." She clapped her hands over her eyes and groaned.
"Well, it wouldn't take you long to get there, but you know you need to take it easy for that little peanut."
"This little peanut is going to drive me mad. Which isn't good because she's not even here yet!"
"You know he didn't say you couldn't do ANYTHING, you can go out every once and a while."
"I don't have to go to school, I don't have a job, what else is there to do with my day?"
"I donno, isn't your baby daddy playing tonight? You could go to the Garden, I'm sure the girls would love to see you."
"I guess this is true." She popped her head up over the side of the couch. "And hey! The jersey might actually fit better with this thing!" She pointed down to her stomach.
Julie laughed at the huge smile on her face at this realization and went back to her work in the kitchen.
"The smallest things amuse you, I swear."
Liz got up off the couch and headed towards her room to get ready and text Britt and Katie that she was going to be at the game tonight.
As she passed the kitchen she said to Julie, "hey, when you're pregnant and feel as big as a semi, you're going to appreciate the small things too."
Liz was sitting in Adams truck waiting for him and Dougie to come downstairs so they could all head out. She had headed down before them considering she was taking things slow now. The drivers side door opened and she looked over smiling at her boyfriend. He leaned in and gave her a small kiss when the back door opened and Dougie climbed in.
"Happy to get out of the house for a while?"
Liz groaned, "you have no idea. I'm going insane just sitting around doing nothing."
He reached over the headrest and ruffled her hair a bit. "Poor little Lizzie. I'm sure the ladies will cheer you up tonight."
Adam chuckled and grabbed her hand, "he has a point. Although I was hoping seeing me would be enough to cheer you up."
Dougie gagged in the back seat and Liz looked over at Adam with a quirked eyebrow.
"You're the one who got me into this situation, why on earth would your face make me happy?" She was trying to fight back the smirk, but was failing.
He moved his hand out of hers and nipped at her side. She flinched and pointed a finger at him.
"Hey, that is not causing me to rest!"
"Fiiinee. But in 2 months, I'm sure as hell making up for all the times I couldn't torment you."
She looked down at her stomach and rubbed a hand over it.
"Guess who's going to be the most held baby of all time?" She looked over and smirked at Adam. "You can't do shit if I have a baby in my arms."
"Oooooh baby, you underestimate me." He pulled her hand up to his mouth and kissed her knuckles.
They turned into the players parking lot and the three of them got out and headed into the arena. Just as Liz was giving Adam a good luck kiss before they parted ways, she heard a voice from down the hallway.
"Awweeeeeee. Leave room for that tummy!"
She chuckled and turned seeing Brit in all her dolled up glory heading down the hallway towards them.
"I don't know if there's enough room in the world for this tummy."
"Honey, you're just 7 months. That's nothing."
She groaned and Adam squeezed her shoulders.
"Thanks Brit. Really helpful." Adam said with a sarcastic bite to his words.
"Just telling you the truth! No sense in lying to you."
Brit grabbed her hand and started slowly heading towards the elevators that took them to their box.
"I'll take her from here McQuaid. You boys have a good game!"
He waved at the girls and they all headed their separate ways.
"I was surprised that you're here tonight! How's the bed rest treating you?"
"I'm here tonight so I don't lose my mind," she chuckled, "and I figured a night with you ladies would be the best way to do that!"
Brit smirked at her, "we will make sure it's a good night just for you, preggo!"
The rest of the night was spent with millions of comments about Liz's huge stomach and the little soccer player growing inside there mixed with the fun of the WAG box that was definitely missed over the past couple months. But now Liz was waiting downstairs in the hallway outside of the locker room for Adam and Dougie to come out, ready to go home. She had closed her eyes and leaned her head back against the wall letting the exhaustion take over her.
"Hey there sleepy head."
She opened her eyes and saw Dougie heading out of the room, slinging his bag over his shoulder.
She groaned at him and saw Adam come out of the doorway next.
"Oh thank God. We can leave now."
Adam chuckled and wrapped his arm around her waist, leaning over to kiss the side of her head.
"What, you didn't have fun with that wild group of ladies?"
"No, I had lots of fun. Until the game went into over time and a shootout. Neither of you could have put it in the net just to let a tired pregnant lady sleep?"
"I was trying!" Dougie said from in front of them.
"Just take me to a bed."
"Your bed or my bed?"
"A bed. Doesn't matter as long as I can sleep in it."
He chuckled and kissed her head again. "You know, we're going to have to figure out this living arrangement thing once you're not so sleepy."
"Living arrangement?"
"Yeah, not really too keen on the idea of my girlfriend and daughter living 10 minutes away from me."
"Oh, that. Picky, picky, picky."
"Call me old fashioned, but I think we should all live together."
"With a Dougie room? He can have an aquarium and a sex swing."
She smirked at the F.R.I.E.N.D.S reference she just made. Dougie turned around and faced the pair.
"I promise to keep the tank clean." He smirked and turned back around.
"How about we talk about it when you're not half delirious and offering Dougie a sex swing."
"Sure, take my fun away!"
The trio chuckled and headed out the doors and straight to Adam's truck.
Notes
ALRIGHT! so this is kind of some filler, but introducing the topic of the living arrangements that they're kind of going to need to figure out before the little darling comes!
After that, I don't think there's much keeping me from introducing you all to her! So let's hope something comes to me soooooon!
Comment, vote, subscribe, and I'll love you :)
You aren't a horrible person!! Life happens, and it's okay to have taken a break. But now, if you're back, I'm so happy for updates to start coming back!!
I think that in a traditional sense, an engagement/wedding/etc. would come next. That's always an option to explore for Adam and Liz. If not, maybe just some good old-fashioned drama (car accident? hockey collision? sick baby?? ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES)
Honestly, I'll be happy to read anything about the McQuaids at this point. Just take your time and things ideas may come! :) :) :)
