The next morning, the team had their practice at Johnny's Ice Rink. As they were doing their usual drills, Kane and Jonathan were talking while in line. "So how was your night?" Jonathan asked Kane. "pretty good, went to the bar with Shaw." Kane says while looking at Shaw, grinning and putting his eyebrows up. "what's so funny?" Jon says. "Hot twins." Kane says, smirking while skating away to do his drill with Sharp and Shaw. As they all got back in line, Kane asked Jonathan how his night was. "Well I got together with an old friend." "Lady friend?" Kane asked. "Yeah. We were best friends in Winnipeg." "And she's in Chicago too?" Kane asked. "Ha, yeah I ran into her at Starbucks." "Is she cute?" "Yeah, very."

Coach Q blew his whistle for a team discussion about power plays, then they went over the plan for the next game. Afterwards, the boys were off to the locker room. "So are you interested in that 'friend'" Kane asks. "Well I only saw her twice since 10 years, but we really clicked when we were at dinner." "hold up, dinner?" "Yeah, I took her to dinner." Kane smirked and walked away. Jonathan rolled his eyes, and left to the garage where his car was.

When he got to his car, Jonathan drove out towards downtown. He was meeting up with Shaw and Kane for lunch. They decided on Gino's East, which had the best deep dish pizza. When they finished ordering, Shaw and Kane started telling Jonathan about the twins they met at the bar. "So they were both super hot, but they were funny cause they were acting like they knew hockey so well, which they obviously didn't." Kane said. "They told me I had a great winning goal." Shaw said, laughing. "You wish you had the winning goal." Jonathan said, shaking his head and laughing. "Okay so the main thing that that they were hot as fuck, but also dumb as fuck." Kane said laughing. "so whats going on with this friend of yours?" Shaw asks Jonathan. "Well what did Patrick tell you?" Jonathan asked, looking over at Kane. "Well he said that you hooked up with your old friend." Shaw said. Jonathan laughed. "Kane, you're an ass." "Okay, so i was kidding about that, but i know you like her." Kane said, laughing. Jonathan rolled his eyes. "Her names, Kelsey. We were best friends, then she moved to Chicago and then i moved to Chicago. we lost touch but now were talking again." Jonathan said to Shaw. Shaw and Kane looked at eachother and laughed. "Jon, this is literally the first girl you associated since you and Lindsey's breakup." Shaw said.

Jonathan's Phone vibrated and he got a text from Kelsey.
'Hey, want to hang out tomorrow, if you're not busy?'

Kane looked over at Jonathan's phone.
"Ayyyy" He said smirking.
"You need to grow up, i swear." Jonathan said laughing.

Jonathan replied.
'I have practice in the afternoon but that's about it.'

'You can come over to my condo if you want. I'll order takeout.'

'Sounds great! see ya there.'


*The next day*
(Kelsey's POV)

"Hanna what should i wear?" Kelsey asks. "Just go casual, but still pretty," Hanna said. "How about this?" I ask. "I really like that!" Hanna says, smiling. "Hey, i'm gonna go and hangout with Ashley.'' Ashley is our best friend who we met at Northwestern. "Okay, have fun. tell her i said hi!" I say. "You too!" Hanna smiles, and leaves the condo. as hanna walks through the lobby, she passes Jonathan. Hanna texts Kelsey 'Your date's here' as she leaves the building. Kelsey texts back 'He's not my date!!!'

As Kelsey puts her phone down, she hears a knock on the door.
