Make It There

Mistake

I was greeted by a blast of warm air as I entered the bar. It was fully lit with loud chattering, despite the fact that it was two o' clock in the morning. I sat by the countertop and ordered a beer.
I was all alone, which was what I wanted because I was dwelling over my nightmare; I just wanted it to go away.
When I got my beer, I gulped it down while staring hard at the black countertop when I heard bells, indicating that a new customer came in. I didn't budge to look up to see who it was.
Then I felt someone sitting next to me; I still stared at the blackness.
"One whiskey, please," I heard the person said.
I almost choked on my beer. That voice sounded so darn familiar. Don't look up, Tuukka-- your mind is just playing tricks on you, that's all.
I waved it away and continued drinking and staring.
"Are you...okay?" the person asked me.
I took a sip. "Yea."
"You don't look fine."
"Good to know." I took another gulp, finishing my bottle.
"So...how are you?"
"Fine." I felt like telling the person to shut up. I did not feel like talking one bit.
"Okay...So you come here often?"
"Sometimes. I dunno."
"The countertop's entertaining you?" I sensed the person trying to get a good look at me.
"Yup."
"Interesting." He chuckled, knowing that I was only kidding.
I couldn't help but smile as well. "Good one." I looked up to face the person, which was not a good idea at all.
Blond hair...That smirk...Well, he was the guy from my nightmare.
I gulped and felt myself turn pale.
"You want another beer?" the guy asked me.
"Ummm..." I was lost at words. I never met this guy, I never knew he existed in reality...But here he is, sitting next to me, at a bar, being very...friendly. "Sure. Why not?"
"Good." He took a sip of his whiskey and told the bartender to fetch another bottle.
"So, why are you here?"
"Uhhh..." I shrugged. "I dunno." I didn't want to say: 'Because I have nightmares of you, creepy dude.'
"That's fine, that's fine..." The guy nodded his head.
"Had we meet before?" I blurted out. I felt my heart pumping loudly, waiting for his answer.
The guy shook his head slowly. "No...I don't think so..."
Oh great, now I'm insane.
The bartender came to the rescue and handed me another beer, which I almost downed all of it.
I sighed. "I'm sorry, it's just that you look so...familiar..."
"That's okay, no need to apologize..." The guy looked at me strangely.
Oh no... I thought to myself. He's gonna know...He's gonna know about my dreams... Like as if he's gonna know what I had been dreaming about just by looking at my face.
"You have something...right here." The guy pointed to his chin.
I touched my chin. "Right here?"
"Yea."
I began to rub my chin so that whatever was on it would get off; at least this guy was nice enough to inform me that there was something on my face. "Did I get off?"
"No...I think it's something that you have to wash off."
"Well, okay...I'll be back."
With a sigh, I got up and walked over to the bathrooms. I washed my face and looked at myself in the mirror. "Nothing on my chin. Good," I mumbled to myself.
I walked out and rejoined the guy. "Is it gone?"
The guy nodded his head. "Yup."
"Good." I finished the rest of my beer. "So, do you live here?"
"In the bar?"
I gave him a serious look.
The guy began to laugh. "I was only joking!" He softly punched my arm. "You meant to say if I live around here!"
"Yea..." I chuckled as well.
I suddenly began to feel woozy, like as if I drank three times the beer I had already drunk. My vision began to blur and was shaky; I was no longer able to hear anything.
Then, before I was able to think about what was happening to me, everything went black.

I woke up to a bright room. I felt like I was floating, slowly bobbing up and down. My vision was back to normal, but I wasn't able to see beyond the glass that was between me and the room; I was just able to see blurs of color.
Then, I realized why I was floating and why there was glass in front of me: because I was in water.
Oh shoot. The first thing that came into mind was that I was going to drown because I have no idea how to swim.
I began to panic, banging on the glass, but the water would just vibrate back at me. After a few more hard pounds, the glass began to crack.
Yes.
Then I shoved myself hard against the glass and I flew out of whatever I was in, onto the cold, hard floor.
Then, I realized that the whole time I was wearing a mask so that I could breathe under water. Oh. I took it off.
I got up, with cuts from the glass and looked down at my soaking self. I was only wearing my boxers.
What is this?! What's going on?!
I looked around the room, which looked like a professional science lab and found a closet with my clothes and a towel.
I dried myself and slipped back into my clothes.
After I was done, a thought came into my mind. How am I gonna get out of here?
I found a door across from the closet and exited the room through it. I ended up in a long, empty, white hallway.
Okay...Just follow the white long road. Or hallway, I should call it.
I fast-walked, following the direction of the hallway, finding the exit of the building.
The sun was peeking out from the ocean, which I was yards away from.
So...now I'm close to the beach...Wait...No...That's not good! How am I gonna get outta this place?!
I don't even know if I'm close to home!

I began to freak out a little bit, walking around the building to see if there was anyone who can tell where on earth I was.
Then, I found a small harbor next to the building, with boats bobbing to the rhythm of the ocean.
Perfect.
I jumped over the small, locked gate and got onto one of the boats. I turned it on and began to sail away, heading west, according to the compass there was next to the wheel.
Finally, I saw a familiar beach, and with that, I hopped off the boat, ran to the bar, which was luckily close to the beach. I hopped into my car and drove off into the sunrise, back home.
I was just hoping that Bebe wouldn't wake up before I arrived...
