Chapter Seventeen

“I know you’re there, Julie. I know you have my PI, just like I know that you called the cops too. I warned you not to call the cops, Julie. Say hi, Andrea!... JULIE!!!... You have two days, Julie, two days to get here, or I’m going to kill her! I want you and my son so we can be a family, Julie!”

That was the voicemail that was left on Julie’s phone and I looked over towards Julie to see that she was hyperventilating. Allie and Veronique were by her side trying to calm her down and Geno had run back with a paper bag.

“You see the kind of client you have!” I yelled and the guy’s eyes were wide.

“I told you,” I heard Julie mutter and I looked back towards her to see her looking at the ground, “I told you not to get the police involved. He’s gunna kill her.”

“Who is Andrea?” I asked as I walked over towards her and bent down. She was crying and had her hands over her mouth, “Julie, who’s Andrea?”

Julie took a deep breath and then looked up, “She’s my baby sister.”

I sighed and then stood up and looked towards the guys who looked horrified.

“We need to call the police back,” James said and I shook my head.

“No!” Julie yelled and stood up, “He’ll kill her!”

I walked over towards her and wrapped my arms around her and she clutched onto my shirt and cried onto my chest, ‘…I don’t know what to do…’

“Do you still consider him you client?” Marc asked and I looked over towards the guy who looked just as horrified as us.

“I didn’t know he was doing that. I didn’t know that was his plan,” he said and Julie looked up.

“What did you think he was using you for?”

“He said that you have stolen his kid and he wanted me to follow you! I’ve been following you for almost seven years now,” he said and her eyes widened.

“Mommy,” we all turned around to see that Josh was standing at the bottom of the stairs looking over towards us, “Conner and I are hungry.”

“I’ll make you something to eat,” Julie said and then walked over towards him and picked him up.

“We’ll help you,” Veronique and Allie said as they left the room and followed Julie into the kitchen.

I looked through the fridge for something to eat, but really couldn’t find anything other than power shakes and fruit. Conner walked into the kitchen and Allie helped him up onto the kitchen stool next to Josh. I grabbed the grapes out of the fridge and then washed them and put them in a bowl for the bowls.

“Mommy.”

“I know sweetie, just eat those while I looked for some food,” I said and he nodded his head and grabbed a grape. I looked into the freezer and saw that Sidney had some frozen mini pizzas in the fridge and pulled them out and looked at them, “They’ll work.”

“Do you need help?” Allie asked and I handed her the two boxes of pizzas and she knew what to do and I started to look through the cabinets for anything.

“Honestly Sidney, don’t you have any food in your place,” I muttered as I saw that his cabinets were empty other than bowls, plates and glasses. I sighed and then looked over towards Allie to see that she was looking through the freezer.

“All I see are these frozen pizzas,” she said and I nodded my head.

“Just make those,” I said and then sighed and leaned against the counter.

“Mommy,” I looked up towards Josh, “Are we leaving again?”

“I don’t know sweetie, I don’t want to, but we might have to,” I said and Josh looked down and I sighed.

“But I wanna stay here,” he said and stood up and looked out the window towards the backyard.

“I know sweetie,” I said and then leaned my head against the window.

I heard yelling in the living room and then looked back towards Veronique and Allie to see them looking towards the door.

“WELL THEN DO IT!!!”

I walked out of the kitchen to see that the guys were looking at the PI guy and then the guy sighed and nodded his head.

“What’s going on?” I asked and the guys turned around.

“PI guy is gunna help us catch the creep,” Geno said and I looked at the guy and he nodded his head.

“All right,” I said and then Sidney walked over towards me.

“He’s gunna need your phone,” he said and I nodded my head and then reached into my pocket and handed it to him, “Thanks,” he said and then pressed his lips onto mine.

I walked into the kitchen and saw that Allie was taking the pizzas out of the oven and putting them on top of the stove.

“What was that about?” Veronique asked

“I guess the PI is going to help us.”

“That’s good,” Allie said and I nodded my head.

“Mommy, after lunch can Conner and I go back into Sidney’s play room?” Josh asked and I looked at him confused.

“Play room?”

“Yeah, he’s got an air hockey table in there!” Josh said happily and I smiled and nodded my head.

“Just make sure you eat everything,” I said and he and Conner nodded their heads.

“Hey Julie, I found chicken,” Allie said and I turned around to see that she was digging through the fridge, “It looks good.”

“Let me see,” I said and then Allie stood up and handed me the plastic wrapped chicken container, “I think I can make something with this, maybe chicken fingers.”

“All right, let me see if he has flour,” Allie said.

“Oh, I saw some cereal in the cabinet, grab that,” I said and she looked at me weirdly, “Trust me.”

“All right,” she said and then looked through the cabinet and pulled out the Captain Crunch.

“Does he have any eggs?”

“Let me look,” Allie said and then opened the fridge, “Yeah, he does!”

“I’ll take those too,” I said and then Allie handed me the eggs.

“Here’s some bowls, Julie,” Veronique said and I smiled towards her.

“Thank you.”

I cracked a few eggs and then scrambled them, I asked Vero to crush some of the cereal and Allie to cut up the chicken into small pieces. When they were all finished, I put the over to the temperature that I needed and then grabbed a cookie tray. I took each piece of chicken and then dunked them into the eggs and then into the cereal and placed them onto the cookie tray.

When I was finished, I put the tray into the oven and then placed the dishes into the sink and washed my hands and then started on washing the dishes.

“Where did you learn to use cereal, Julie?” Veronique asked.

“My mother taught me it,” I said and then looked at the ground because I missed my mother a lot.

I sighed and then decided to see how the guys were doing and then walked back out into the living room to see that the PI guy was typing on a laptop with the other guys hanging over him. I stood next to Geno and placed my hand on his arm and reached up to try and see over his shoulder. He looked down and saw me, and then moved so that I would be able to stand in front of him.

“And this can track him?” Sidney asked and the guy nodded his head.

“Based off of his last phone call and because his phone is still on, I can tell where his coordinates are,” the man said and I took a step forward and stood next to Sidney I placed my hand on his arm and then saw Sidney look over and smile towards me. He grabbed my hand and then laced his fingers with mine, “Ok, the signal locked onto his location. The signal says that he’s at 876 Rochester Street in Pittsburgh.”

“Rochester Street?” I asked and my eyes widened.

“You know where it is, Julie?” Geno asked and I turned around and nodded my head.

“876 Rochester Street is right across the street from the shop.”
