Chapter Eighteen

-Sidney-

Julie just told me that the place where Kyle was staying was an apartment across the street from the shop. I clenched my fists and then heard Julie gasp and then run to the phone.

“What? What’s wrong?”

“Mildred and Harold!” she said and my eyes widened and I nodded my head, “It’s just ringing! It’s just ringing! Why aren’t they answering? Sidney, they’re not answer!” she panicked and Allie walked into the room.

“What’s wrong?” she asked as she walked into the room.

“The creep has been hiding in an apartment across the street from the shop,” Tyler said and Allie’s eyes widened.

“This whole time!” she said and I nodded my head.

“Allie! Why are Harold and Mildred not answering their phone?!” Julie panicked.

“They left,” she said and Julie looked at her, “I sent them away; I dropped them off at the airport this morning.”

Julie let out a huge breath that she had been holding and then I took the phone off of her and then hugged her.

“You saw them get onto the plane?” Julie asked and Allie nodded her head.

“Watched them take off, I wasn’t taking any chances. They went to go visit my brother,” Allie said and Julie nodded her head.

“PI guy! Is the creep still there?” Geno asked and I looked over towards the guy and he nodded his head.

“He hasn’t moved.”

“Let’s pay this guy a little visit,” I said and then felt Julie grab onto me.

“You’re not going to him!” she said and I looked down towards her.

“Julie, you won’t let us call the police, you won’t let us go there and kick his ass! How can we help you?” I said and she looked up towards me.

“I don’t know,” she said and then fell to her knees and I held her, “I don’t know what to do.”

“Trust me,” I said as I held her face and she looked at me, “We’ll be all right.”

“Don’t you dare get hurt! Any of you!” she said and I nodded my head.

I pressed my lips against hers and then laid my forehead on hers, “We’ll be fine, hey, it’s seven hockey players again, one guy. We’ll get your sister and then drop the asshole at the police station.”

“Please be careful, you have a game tomorrow,” she said and I nodded.

I kissed her head and then stood up and then looked over towards the guys and nodded my head, “Call me if he moves,” I said to the PI guy and he nodded his head.

The guys and I left my house and then headed towards the place where this creep was at. When I pulled up to the house I called my house phone and Julie picked up. I asked her to give the phone to the PI guy and I asked him what room this guy was in. When he told us that the signal was on the third floor, I told the guys and we headed up the stairs.

-Julie-

I was pacing back and forth scared about what was happening to the guys. I looked over towards the laptop and then saw that the signal was still in the same spot. The phone rang again and I answered it.

“Sidney?”

“Yeah, ask the guy what room it is, we’re on the third floor,” he said and I looked over towards the guy and repeated the question, but before he could answer the doorbell rang.

I walked towards the door and answered it. My eyes widened and I placed the phone to me ear, “Sidney.”

“Yeah.”

“He’s here,” I said as I looked at the smirking Kyle in front of me. He took the phone to my ear and hung up the phone.

“Hello Julie.”

“Kyle, why are you here?”

“To get my family,” he said and then took a step forward and I took a step back.

-Sidney-

“Julie! Julie! Can you hear me? Julie!” I yelled into the phone and then looked at the guys.

“Sid, what’s wrong?” Marc asked.

“I don’t know. I heard Julie say my name and then something else and then it cut off,” I said and then it clicked, “Shit, he’s there!”

“What about her sister?” Geno asked.

“I don’t know, Geno. You, James and Matt check this building and find her! Marc, Tyler, Kris and I will go back!” I said and they nodded their heads and the four of us ran back down the stairs and headed back out to my car.

“Should we call the police?” Marc asked as I ran to the driver side door.

“Call them!” I said and the car and sped off.

I was speeding throughout the streets of Pittsburgh to get home. I must have ran a red light, because a cop was on my tail.

“Shit!” Kris said and I shook my head.

“I’m still on hold!” Marc said, “Why am I on hold for the police?”

“Hang up! I have a way to get the cops to my house,” I said and Marc looked at me.

“Oh boy,” he said and then held on to the handle bar above his head.

“Uh man, you have two cops behind you now,” Tyler said and I looked in the review mirror.

“Coach is gunna kills us,” Kris said and I sighed.

“Probably.”

-Julie-

“Leave them out of this, Kyle,” I said as Kyle had us sat down on the couch and was pacing back and forth, “Let them go.”

“No you see, Julie, I knew you weren’t going to play the game, so I decided to start it early,” he said as he then leaned in front of me.

“Game? What game? How is any of this a game?”

Kyle smiled and then stood back up, “You see, I know you’ve been hiding behind those hockey players, just like I know you sent them to get your sister,” he said and then held up his phone, “Say hi to your sister,” Kyle pressed a button and then my sister’s voice was heard through it.

My eyes widened as I realized what had happened, “You never had her! You knew they would come after you and when they left you came here!”

“Bingo,” he said and then laughed, “Too bad you just figured it out now.”

Veronique was holding onto Josh while Allie was holding onto Conner. We were all on the couch was the PI guy was sitting on the chair next to the couch.

“Why can’t you just leave us alone, Kyle?” I cried and he ran forward and grabbed me by my neck and pulled me up.

“Julie!” Allie yelled then tried to help me, but Kyle backhanded her face and Allie fell to the ground.

“Allie!” Veronique yelled and then helped Allie up.

“Josh! Let’s go!” Kyle yelled as he held me tight.

“Mommy?”

“Run,” I managed to get out before his grip tightened around my throat.

-Sidney-

“Man just pull over!” Marc yelled.

“Just call the cops again!” I yelled as I growled and turned the corner so fast I almost hit a car.

“I got them!” Marc said and I grabbed the phone off of Marc and placed the phone to my ear.

I told the officer that was at my house before what was going on and he said that he was going to tell the cops behind us. This wasn’t a high speed case, this was a rescue mission.
