Rescue Me (Sidney Crosby)

Chapter Nineteen

We pulled up to the house, jumped out of the car, and ran to my door. I practically kicked the damn thing opened. I ran into my living room to see that Allie, Veronique and Conner were tied up and that Josh and Julie were gone. I heard my back door closing and ran to it with Kris behind me, while Tyler and Marc stayed to help the girls and Conner.

"Julie!" I called as I walked into the backyard and saw Julie on the ground, "Julie!" I ran to her side and turned her over, she was breathing, but her head was bleeding and her was unconscious. I sighed and then looked around, '...Where's Josh?...'

"Sid!" I heard Kris say and I looked to see Josh turning the corner of my driveway.

I stood up and then gently laid Julie down and Kris and I darted after Josh. I saw I guy come up behind Josh and grab him, '...That must be Kyle...'

"Let him go!" Kris yelled as the man turned around and Josh saw us.

"Sidney!" he yelled and then the police showed up behind him.

"There's nowhere for you to run, Mr. Mullery! Let the boy go!" the one officer yelled as they all pointed their guns towards him.

"JOSH!!!"

"MOMMY!!!"

I turned around and saw Julie running over towards me. She tried to run past me, but I grabbed her and held her close.

"Let me go!"

"Calm down, look," I said and then saw focused on Josh and saw that this guy had a knife pointed at Josh's side.

"No," she said and then almost collapsed, but I held her up, "Kyle, let him go!"

-Julie-

"NO!" I yelled as I saw that the smoke had cleared and Josh and Kyle were gone.

Kyle had pulled some kind of container out of his pocket and threw it onto the ground, it exploded and smoke went everywhere. Sidney had shielded me from the blast and I looked back to see that my son wasn't there, they had both disappeared. I fell to my knees and held my face crying because I might never see my son again. I felt Sidney's arms around me and then heard people's feet running around, trying to find where this man had gone with my son.

*Officers needed for a fire on 876 Rochester Street.*

My stomach dropped as I heard that over a police officer's walkie, '...The guys!...'

"Sid! Geno, James and Matt!" I heard Kris yell and I only cried harder.

-Sidney-

I stood up and carried Julie back to my house and placed her on the couch with Veronique, Allie, Tyler and Marc.

"What's going on, Sid?" Marc panicked and I started to head for my door, "No one's answering their phone!"

"I don't know, there was a fire!" I said as I walked quickly over towards me car, "We'll be back."

"Sidney!" Marc yelled angrily as I got in and Kris was all right in the passenger seat.

I sped out of my driveway, dodging all of the police cars and headed back to Rochester street. I know that as I was leaving my street, the news stations were just showing up, we weren't getting out of this one.

When I arrived onto Rochester Street, I saw that the whole building was on fire, and the firemen were trying to put it out.

"What if the guys are inside?!" Kris yelled as I got out of the car and looked around. I didn't see them.

"There's someone coming out!" I heard and Kris and I moved closer to see that Matt had just ran out of the fire.

"MATT!!!" we yelled and he looked up and fell to the ground having a coughing fit. A fireman came over and picked up and drug him away.

"Where's Geno and James?" Kris asked and I looked around, my eyes scanning every part of that building but I saw nothing but flame, "THERE!!!"

I looked towards the door and I saw Geno and James running out of the building, and Geno had someone on his back.

"Is that the sister?" Kris asked and I shrugged my shoulders.

The four of them were taken over towards an ambulance and given oxygen masks. Kris and I headed over towards them and I placed my hand on Geno's shoulder because he looked the worse between James and Matt.

"You guys all right?" Kris asked and they nodded their heads.

"Is that Julie's sister?" I asked Geno, and he turned around to see that the EMTs were working on her and he nodded his head, taking deep breaths into the oxygen mask.

I heard James cough and looked over towards him to see he had taken his mask off, "It was a trap."

They had ash on them and some of their clothes were burnt. A police officer walked over and started to ask the guys questions but in-between the coughing and breathing into the mask deeply, it took longer than expected.

Geno had explained that they found the girl tied to a chair, they walked over towards her and untied her and when they were getting ready to leave, Matt tripped on a wire and a fire started. We had to explain to the officer what had happened at my house and he put the stories together and we figured that one man was behind this, Kyle.

"Where's Julie?" Geno croaked out and I sighed.

"The creep took Josh," Kris said and the guys looked at me shocked.

"The little man?" Geno asked and I nodded my head.

"The freak tied Vero, Allie and Conner up and tried to take Julie and Josh. For whatever reason he knocked Julie out and took Josh," I explained and then looked at the ground and clenched my fists.

-Julie-

"Do you know where he might take him?" the officer asked and I shook my head, "Does he have any family around here?"

"I don't know," I said and then sighed and placed my hands over my mouth and started to cry, "I don't know."

"That's enough for now, Officer," I heard Veronique say and then felt her start to rub my back.

"We'll fine your son, Ms. McHale," the officer said and then I heard him walk away.

"Josh," I whispered and then brought my knees up to my chest and wrapped my arms around my legs and leaned my forehead on my knees.

-Sidney-

"What the hell is going on here?" Coach yelled as he walked into the hospital room.

'...Oh boy...'

"Coach!" Kris said and then I held my arm out.

"It's my fault, Coach," I said and Coach looked at me shocked, "You might want to sit down for this," I said and then explained to Coach what was going on. I told him about Julie and about how this guy was after her, about the spider, the stalking PI, and about the kidnapping of her sister and her son.

"Where is this girl?"

"My house," I said and then he stood up.

"You'd better get your ass back there and make sure that she's all right," he said and I nodded my head, "And as for you three," he said and looked at Geno, Matt and James, "You pull a hero stunt like that again, I'll kill you myself! Jesus my heart nearly stopped when I got the call saying what you boys did!"

"Sorry, Coach," we muttered and then heard Coach sigh.

"Is the girl all right though?"

"We don't know," Geno said and then I sighed.

"You boys go home and make sure everyone is all right!" Coach said and we nodded out heads.

Geno, James and Matt were discharged and we had asked them to call us if the girl woke up. The nurses nodded their heads and we had left the hospital heading back to my house.
