Chapter Fifty Five

-Julie-

"This is so much fun!" Josh yelled and I smiled as my cousin took my son around the lake on the jet ski

My father and Uncle owned boats, and today was a beautiful day, so we called up the family to have a picnic at the local lake. My cousins' brought their three jet skies and then we drove out to the center of the lake where there was a small island. We grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, the kids swam in the lake with their life jackets on, and I stayed on the boat, enjoying the sun.

Sidney was helping my father cook and I smiled at the fact that he was getting along with my family. I felt someone sit next to me and saw Sidney and smiled, he had a plate of hotdogs and I smiled and kissed his cheek.

"Two hotdogs with cheese and ketchup for the pretty lady," he said and I smiled thanked him, "Where's Josh?"

"Out with Ian, they're riding around on the jet ski," I said and Sidney nodded his head.

"Looks fun," I laughed and then laid my head on his shoulder as he took a bite of his hotdog, "You're getting a little red."

"Yeah, I had to cover my legs, because they're practically burnt."

"Oh boy," he said as I looked at him and laughed because he had ketchup on his cheek.

We finished eating and Sidney pulled me onto his lap and kissed my neck. I smiled towards him and laid my head on his shoulder and listened to the boys drive around on their jet skies.

"Hey Jewels!" I heard and looked up to see my cousin Ian coming back and dropping Josh off, "I'm gunna get something to eat, you wanna take her for a ride?"

"Sure," I said and then stood up and pulled Sidney up with me, "Come on."

"I'm driving first," Sidney said and I laughed and nodded my head.

"Mommy! That was so much fun!" Josh yelled as he ran onto the boat and over towards me.

"It was! I'm glad you're having fun," I smiled and kissed his head, "Why don't you go over towards Gram and have her get you something to eat."

"All right," he said and then walked over towards my mom.

"Mom!" I called and she looked at him, "Will you get him some food?"

"Sure, he eat the same as you?" she asked and I nodded my head.

"Are you going on the jet ski now, Mommy?" Josh asked and I nodded my head, "Have fun!"

I laughed and then kissed his head and jumped into the water. I looked back to see that Sidney had ruffled Josh's hair and then jumped in after me.

"You're driving first, so you have to climb up first," I said to Sidney and he nodded his head and climbed up onto the jet ski. I smiled at how his face lit up and then pulled myself up after him and slid onto the seat.

"Ready?" he asked and I wrapped my arms around his waist and placed my chin on his shoulder.

"Yeah," I said and he started off slowly moving away from the boat and I heard Josh yelling 'bye' to me.

Once we were away from the boats, Sidney picked up the speed and we were going pretty fast and bouncing on the waves. Sidney turned really fast and I almost fell off, I heard him laughing when he stopped and I slapped his back.

"You did that on purpose!" I yelled and he looked back and smirked towards me.

"Just wanted to see if you were holding on," he laughed and smirked and shook my head.

"Jerk," I muttered and he started up again, "Don't do it again!"

"All right!"

We must have went all around the lake before Sidney stopped to let me have a turn. He jumped into the water and I slid up to the front and felt Sidney climb up behind me.

"Do you know how to work this?" he asked as I felt his life vest against my back.

"Please, I've been driving these things longer than I've been driving a car," I smirked and then hit the gas and laughed when Sidney almost fell back, but caught himself and grabbed onto my life vest, "Hold on."

"Yeah, warning next time you go!" he laughed and then held onto me as I picked up the speed.

-Sidney-

Julie was still laughing about how she actually managed to get me to fall off of the jet ski after she turned really sharply, the same thing I had done to her. I hit the water hard, and it hurt at first, but the pain went away and she had drove back to get me.

"Wow, guess your reflexes aren't as good as you thought," she teased and I smirked and shook my head as I climbed back up onto the jet ski.

"Oh she's a comedian," I said as I pulled myself close to her and then kissed her cheek, "Truce."

"Fine," she muttered and I laughed.

After we drove around a little bit longer, Julie drove back to where we left the boats and saw that they were gone.

"Where are they?" I asked and Julie shook her head.

"Must have went back to the docks," she said and then drove away from the little island and headed down the lake.

Julie was right, they had decided that spending just about ten hours at the lake was long enough, and went back to the docks. When we showed up, they were pulling the first boat out of the water and Julie dropped my off at the latter.

"Will you go help them?" she asked and nodded my head.

"Jewels! I was hoping that you would realize that we were heading back," her cousin said and she nodded her head, "I'll bring it in."

"All right," Julie said and then stood up and climbed onto the latter as her cousin jumped onto the jet ski and started to drive it to where they pull the boats and such out of the water.

"Daddy!" I heard Josh yell and turned around to see him running towards me. I smirked and then bent down and he ran in front of me, "Did you have fun?"

"Yeah, your mom managed to flip my off though," I said and he laughed.

"Really?!" Josh yelled and looked at Julie smiling towards her, "Good job, mommy!"

"Hey, hey, I have feelings here," I said and trying to look hurt, but Josh laughed and wrapped his arms around my neck.

Julie walked over towards us, and I picked Josh up just as she stood in front of us, "Did you have fun, Josh?"

"I did, it was so cool!" he said and Julie and I smiled, "I wanna see Sasha."

"We're heading back soon, you'll see Sasha when we get back to Gram's house."

"All right," he said and then Julie and I walked up the dock and found the rest of her family.

Worrying about wet clothes, wasn't going to be a problem, after standing in the Texas sun for almost ten minutes had dried our swimsuits right up. I had a Penguins hat on and my sunglasses, but even with that the sun was really bright.

Julie walked over with my flip flops and I put them on, because the ground was hot. She bent down and placed Josh's hat on his head and placed some more sunscreen on him.

"You're a little red, Josh," Julie smiled and then poked at Josh's pink chest.

"You are too, Mommy," he said and then poked her legs.

"You two match," Julie's cousin said as I picked Josh up again and saw that he had a Penguins hat on as well.

I smirked and Josh nodded his head and laid his head on my shoulder. Julie walked over and threw a towel on his back to block him from the sun as we waited for the guys to bring the trucks over to take us home.

By the time they had shown up, Josh was asleep and I had to put his dead weight in the car and buckle him up. I set him in the center of the back of the truck and then climbed up next to him. I saw the other door open and Julie walked in and smiled at her son. Julie's parents got in the front, and her father was driving.

"Hope everyone had fun today," Julie's father said and we all nodded our heads.

"The poor dear, he's so cute," Julie's mom said as she turned her head to look at Josh.

By the time we had gotten back to the house, Josh was sort of awake, more like a zombie. We walked into the house, making sure to bring everything inside, and then the three of us walked into our rooms and fell asleep as soon as our heads hit the pillow.
