Chapter Forty Two

-Katrina-

I was brushing down Snowflake when I heard someone call my name. I turned around and was horrified to see him standing there.

“Milan, what are you doing here?” I asked completely confused.

“You haven’t been returning my phone calls or anything, we need to talk, Kat,” he said and I shook my head.

‘…Shit what do I do? Sid’s in the office…’ I thought and looked towards the door, hoping that he wasn’t going to come out yet, “There’s nothing to talk about.”

“Yes there is, Kat!” he said and then turned me around and held my arms.

“No there’s not, I can’t do this anymore, Milan,” I said as I looked at him to see that he was looking down at me, “Are you even listening to me?”

“Where’s your ring?” he asked and I looked at my ring to see that it was gone, “Katrina, where’s your god damn ring?!”

“Kat!”

‘…Of course he comes out now…’ I thought as I heard the office door open and Sidney walked out.

“What the hell?” I heard Milan mutter and he looked down at me and then back at Sidney.

“Milan, no-“

“You! I knew you were trying to take her away from me!” Milan growled as he let go of me and walked around Snowflake.

“Milan stop! Don’t!”

“I’ll kill you!” Milan growled as he stepped closer to Sidney and I ran over and stood in front of Sidney.

“Stop it! I’m sick of this, Milan!” I yelled and Sidney placed his hands on my hips.

Milan’s eyes widened and he glared at Sidney, “You fucking brainwashed her into hating me!”

“You don’t even love her!” Sidney yelled and I held my hands out when Milan tried to come closer to Sidney.

“Come out from hiding behind her and say that again! I knew you were full of shit when you said nothing was going on!” Milan said as Sidney pushed me aside and I stood in-between the two who were glaring at each other.

“Guys stop! Just stop!” I yelled but it wasn’t doing anything.

“Move Kat,” Sidney said and I shook my head, holding back my arms so that the two wouldn’t go after one another, “Move.”

“No! You’ll just try to kill each other!” I stated as I looked at Milan to see him smirk a little.

“Thought crossed my mind.”

“Knock it off, Milan! Go home-“ Milan pushed me out of the way and my body slammed into Balto’s stall.

“Son of a bitch!” Sidney yelled and I turned around to see that they were swinging pushes back and forth.

“Stop!” I yelled and then got in-between them again, which was stupid, because all that did was me getting punched in the face by one of them.

There was no stopping them, they were going at it, the only thing I could do was grab my phone and beg for help from his teammates, because I really didn’t want to call the police. Sidney and Milan were bouncing off of the stalls, falling to the ground, getting back up, falling back down; it was like a freaking pinball machine in here. I saw Baxter and Daisy on the ground around were the two of them were stomping their feet and quickly ran over to pick them up and bring them into the office.

I heard Snowflake cry out and then someone curse loudly. I ran back out to see that they hang banged into her and she had kicked Milan in the ribs, most likely fracturing or breaking some, because a horse’s kick can my very painful and sometimes fatal. I ran over towards her and unhooked her and placed her back into her stall before anything else would happen to her. All of the horses were going nuts, and I was hoping the guys would get here soon.

-Kris-

It was an all out race to get to Kat’s house, she had apparently called Marc with a 911 and he called me and the team. Marc said that he could barely hear her, but something was clearly going on. I had gotten in my car and sped like mad to get there. By the time I was there, there were already a few cars there. I parked my car, not even sure if I turned it off and saw Tyler running into the stables. I heard things breaking and people shouting and darted there. As I got up the driveway, I saw the team pulling Milan Lucic out of the barn, he was bloody and a little beaten up.

“Sid,” I muttered as I ran past the guys who seemed to have a good grip on Lucic and into the stables to find that Kat was in the office with Marc, Vero and Sidney, who looked a little messed up, “What happened?”

“Kris,” Vero said and then looked at Sidney and Marc, “Go make sure the boys aren’t killing Lucic, I’ve got her.”

Marc walked out of the room, grabbing my arm and pulling me with him, “Marc, what happened?”

“Not sure, walked in to see Lucic and Sid nearly killing each other,” he said and I nodded my head and we walked out of the stables.

“What happened to Kat?”

“I think she was in the face by one of them. I don’t know, she’s pretty shaken up,” he said and I growled, “Calm down, we don’t need anyone getting arrested.”

“He better get arrested,” I growled and Marc nodded his head.

Marc and I looked to see that Tomas Vokoun and Geno had just shown up and were making their way over. Tyler, James, Matt, Kunitz, Cooke, Brooks and Tanner had a good grip on Lucic, I walked in-between some of them and grabbed his blood stained shirt.

“What the hell are you doing here?” I growled and he stayed silent, “Lucic! We either call you Coach to come down and get you or the fucking cops! Your choice!”

“Go fuck yourself, Letang! Your Captain is so screwed at the next game,” he smirked and glared, wanting to punch him so badly, “Tell Crosby that if thinks he has Kat, he’s got another thing coming.”

“Oh shut up!” Cooke said as he punched Lucic’s cheek and I shook my head and walked back into the stables.

The horses were going crazy and I saw Vero trying to calm some of them down. I walked into the office to see that Kat was sitting on the couch nursing a water bottle. I looked around and didn’t see Sidney, “Where’s Sid?”

“Bathroom, trying to clean himself up,” she said and I nodded my head and sat on the couch next to her.

“Kat,” I heard and looked to see that Vero was walking into the room, “I found this.”

I looked to see that Vero had handed Kat her engagement ring. Kat sighed as she stared at the ring in her hand. At that moment, I had figured out what had happened, ‘…Sid slept with Kat…’

Kat didn’t say a word, she handed me her water, stood up and walked out of the office. Vero and I looked at each other and then followed after her; we watched as Kat walked over towards Milan and everyone was looking at her. More of the team had shown up and crowded around Lucic.

“Kat,” he said as she appeared in front of him, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to punch you.”

‘…Prick…’

I watched as Kat grabbed Lucic’s hand and placed the ring in it, “Please don’t come back here again,” was all she said and then started to walk back towards the barn. Lucic called her name again; she turned around and looked at him, “Go back to Boston, Milan.”

“You heard the lady, get the hell out of here!” Tomas said as he pushed Lucic around and the guys started to walk him off of Kat’s property.

As they made their way down the driveway, it was too late, one of the neighbors must have heard the fight, because the police were called and the drama was starting again.

-Katrina-

“Hello?”

“Ty,” I said as I pressed the phone to my ear.

“Kat, hey what’s up?” he said.

“I need you to do Milan a favor,” I said and then sighed.

“We’re looking for him, no one’s seen in since yesterday,” he said and I rubbed my face, “He’s with you isn’t he?”

“He was.”

“Where is he now?”

“He’s been arrested, will you come down and bail him out and make sure he goes home,” I said and I heard Tyler sigh and then talk to someone else, “Who are you with?”

“Brad and Dougie, yeah, we’re on our way, I’ll call you when we get to the airport,” Tyler said and I thanked him, “You broke it off didn’t you?”

“It’s over.”

“I’m sorry Kat.”

“Just make sure to take care of your boy,” I said and Tyler scoffed, “Love you Ty.”

“Love you too Kat, we’ll see you in a few hours.”
