No Sense of Direction 046:

Chapter Forty Six

“Thank you for your time, Ms. Spelling,” the one man said as he and the other gentleman finished looking around my office, “Everything looks good.”

“Thank you,” I said and then shook hands with him.

“I don’t see anything wrong here, everything is up to date, so we’ll see you in another year,” the other man said as he signed a paper and then handed it to me.

“Thank you,” I repeated and then walked them towards the door, “Have a good day, gentlemen.”

“You too,” I said and then took a deep breath when the door closed, “Finally.”

I walked over towards my desk and dug through the files and went to the ‘Inspection’ file and through the sheet saying that I passed into the file. My door opened and I saw Uncle Dan walking in.

“Everything all right?”

“Everything’s all good.”

“Good, sorry about this, Katrina.”

“It’s all right, now if you excuse me, I’m going back to bed,” I said and he laughed and nodded his head.

By the time I got home, Tyler was awake and talking to Dana in the kitchen and they were watching Tyler’s dog play with mine.

“Hey, you’re back!” Dana said when she saw me and Tyler turned around and smiled.

“Hey! Where’d you go?”

“Apparently there was suppose to be an inspection tomorrow,” I said and then sat down next to Tyler and sighed, “No one told me that, but then all of a sudden, they decide that they want to move the inspection date up to today, again, no one told me.”

Dana laughed and shook her head, “That sucks.”

“So did you pass?” Tyler asked and I looked at him like he was crazy, “What?”

“Of course I passed!”

“Well sorry, god!” he laughed and I smirked.

“I’m tired,” I said and then laid my head on Tyler’s shoulder.

“Crosby called, he’ll be by later,” Tyler said and I sighed.

“Wait, when did he call?” I asked and Dana looked at the paper in front of her.

“About an hour ago, I don’t know why he just didn’t call your cell phone.”

“He might have tried,” I said and then reached for my cell phone in my back pocket and saw that I had two missed phone calls and two texts, “Oops.”

“Ooooooo, you’re in trouble!” Tyler teased and I laughed and bumped shoulders with him.

I texted Sidney telling him that I was home and sorry for missing his phone call and texts. Just as I sent the message, my front door opened and I heard someone walk in.

“Well look who it is,” Dana said and I turned around and smirked when I saw Sidney there, “Sure, just let yourself in,” she teased and I laughed.

“Hey,” Sidney said as he walked into the kitchen and over towards me.

“Sorry, Uncle Dan called me this morning and told me that I apparently had an inspection,” Is aid and then sighed and leaned my head against his chest.

“Yuck,” he said and I laughed and nodded my head, “Did you pass?”

“Why do you people doubt me?!” I laughed and threw my hands in the air, “Of course I passed.”

“Wow, someone’s cranky!” Sidney laughed and I scoffed.

“You would be too if you went through I what I did this morning,” I muttered and then rubbed my face, I’m tired and cold.”

“And whiney,” Tyler said and I shoved his shoulder and he laughed, “And violent.”

“I’m going back to bed,” I muttered as I stood up and walked out of my chair grabbing Sidney’s hand and walking over towards the stairs.

“Where are we going?”

“Bed,” I mumbled as I walked up the stairs and went into my room.

“All right,” he laughed and then closed the door behind me.

I kicked my shoes off and then threw my shirt off and towards the ground. I took my bra off and threw it onto the floor with my shirt and then threw my pajama shirt on and changed back into my sweats. I heard Sidney jump onto my bed and I turned back to see that he was only in his sweats. I smirked and then walked over towards my bed and climbed in next to him and felt his arms around my waist.

“You look tired.”

“I am,” I muttered as I wrapped my arms around his chest and laid my head on his shoulder, “Go to sleep.”

“You’re bossy today too,” Sidney laughed and I sighed and shook my head.

“Shush,” I laughed and then looked up towards Sidney to see he was looking at me, “You’re not going to let me sleep, are you?”

“Maybe,” he said and then pressed his lips onto mine.

-Sidney-

Kat was sleeping and she has been for a while, she didn’t even feel me climb out of her grasp. I smiled towards her and then kissed her head and walked out of the room, heading downstairs. I yawned and stretched as I walked into the living room, hearing the TV on and seeing Tyler and Dad sitting on the couch.

“One’s up, where’s the other one?” Dana smirked and I laughed.

“Still sleeping.”

“She’s worked herself to the bone,” she said and I nodded my head, “She’ll probably be sleeping for a little while longer.”

“Figured,” I said as I walked into the room and sat on the couch next to Seguin, “How’s your arm?”

“Eh, it bothers me some times.”

“Sorry,” I said and sighed, I felt a little responsible for his injury.

“Not your fault or at least I don’t think.”

“You didn’t see who stepped on you?” I asked and he shook his head.

“So that fight was about Kat, wasn’t it?” he asked and I sighed and nodded my head, “For the record, I’m happy she ended up with you.”

I snapped my head over towards him and saw that he was staring at the TV. I saw that Dana was looking at him surprised too, “Why-“

“If you tell anyone that I said that, I’ll totally deny it,” he muttered, not even looking at me.

“You didn’t think Lucic was good for her?” Dana asked and Tyler shook his head.

“But I already told her what I thought about her little situation when we were sitting in the hospital together. Kat is like my big sister, we’ve been close ever since she came to the Bruins. That’s why I thought to ask her about coming out here and helping me get away from hockey, I wanted her to help me with my PT,” he explained and I nodded my head.

“Makes sense, she’s knows your body almost better than you, so I would ask her too,” Dana said and Tyler nodded his head.

“So if you’re trying to get away from hockey, then why are you watching the highlights of last night’s games?” I asked as I nudged my head towards the TV on the wall.

“Man shut up! Hockey is in my blood, I can’t fully get away from it!” he yelled and I laughed and nodded my head, understanding where he was coming from.

“All right fine, don’t get your panties in a bunch,” I said as I stood up and stretched, “I’m going to go and raid your fridge, I’m starving.”

“Don’t you have a fridge at home?” Dana asked and I snorted.

“An empty one,” I laughed and walked into the kitchen and saw the three dogs playing together, ‘…Who’s the lab?...’

I walked over towards the pups and bent down. They ran over towards me and tried to jump onto my legs; I smirked and then grabbed their one toy and threw it across the room and watched as they all ran after it.

“Crazy pups,” I laughed as I walked over towards the fridge and grabbed a beer and a bag of carrots, “Lunch of champions.”
