Chapter Forty Seven

"Don't fall!" Sidney laughed as he watched as I carried the Christmas box full of hats and elf ears into the locker room.

"I got it," I said and then threw it onto the floor, "Dig in!"

It was the annual Christmas party for the guys, they bring in their families and we skate around the ice. The guys with kids, brought theirs in and we were going to have fun together.

"Cooke!" I heard and turned around to see that Matt Cooke walked in with his wife and kids.

"Hello, Kat," Matt said as he smiled towards me, "Merry Christmas."

"Merry Christmas, Cooke," I laughed and then saw a girl next to his wife.

"This is my daughter, Gabby," Matt said and I smiled and held out my hand.

"Nice to meet you, I've heard a lot about you," I smiled and she smiled back and nodded her head.

"My dad says that you like to sing," she laughed and I smirked and shook my head.

"Your dad has a big mouth," I teased and Cooke laughed.

I met just about everyone's wives and kids, expect for Gabby, at the Thanksgiving party. Apparently Gabby was Cooke's wife's daughter from a previous relationship, and Cooke adopted her. She was almost nineteen and was away at college.

After everyone was here, we all put our skates on, dug through the box, grabbing our Santa hats or elf ears, and then headed out onto the ice. I felt Sidney grab my hand and lace his fingers with mine, I smiled towards him and then started to skate around the ice with him.

"Kat!" I heard and turned around to see that Gabby was skating towards me, she stopped in front of me and I felt Sidney kiss my cheek and start to skate off.

"Dad said that Seguin's at your house?" she asked excitedly and I laughed and nodded my head, "I'm a huge fan of his."

"Oh, I bet that makes your dad happy!" I laughed and she nodded her head, "Well, I don't know if you were told, but there's a dinner at my house tomorrow, Tyler will be there."

"Yes! I'm so excited!" she squealed and I laughed and then saw some of the kids beating up on Sidney.

"Oh god," I laughed and then watched as Sidney fell to the ice and pretended to be hurt, "What a goof."

-Sidney-

After skating for about three hours, everyone was finished and was going to go into the press confrence room where there was some food set up. We were in the locker room taking our skates off and I smiled towards Kat because Cooke's daughter, Gabby seemed to be attached to her hip.

Kat was humming some song and Gabby shot up and smiled towards her, "I know that song, it's broken hearted!"

"Yeah, I can't get that song out of my head," Kat laughed and I turned my head back down towards the skates.

"Usually if you sing it, it helps."

"You just want to see if I can really sing," Kat teased and I laughed, feeling Kat bump my shoulder.

"Well that too."

"Come on, Kat, sing it," I said and she groaned, "You know you want to."

"We already know you can sing," Tanner Glass said and she laughed and then sighed.

Kat stood up and then rubbed her hands together, "This is more than the kinda thing, felt the jolts in my bones when you were touching me, oh, ok, didn't want to take it slow-"

"In a daze, going crazy, I can barely think," I snapped my head to the song, hearing Gabby start to sing and I smiled because she was really good. I looked back towards Kat and saw that she was smiling wide too, "You're replaying in my brain, find it hard to sleep, oh, oh, waiting for my phone to blow..."

Kat laughed and then threw her arm around Gabby's shoulder and the guys were laughing at them, "Now I'm here in a sticky situation, got a little trouble yep and now I'm pacing, five minutes, ten minutes, now it's been an hour, I don't wanna think too hard, but I'm sour, oh, oh, I can't seem to let you go..."

Gabby turned to Kat and smiled as they both sang the chorus. I laughed at the end of the song and we all clapped.

"I love this girl! Cooke, you can't take her away!" Kat yelled as she hugged Gabby and everyone laughed.

"She's got school."

"Too bad!" Kat said and then shook her head and she and Gabby high fived.

"Food's ready!" Mario said as he walked into the locker room and smiled towards everyone, "Did I hear singing?"

"Just our human karaoke machine," James teased as he threw his arm around Kat's shoulder and ruffled her hair.

"Hey!" she whined and then slapped his hand away.

"Well come on, food!" Mario said and I threw my shoes on and walked over towards the door, following my teammates and their families.

-Katrina-

"Don't you dare, Sidney!" I yelled, trying not to laugh as Sidney placed his hand back in his cup and took another piece of ice out, "Sidney Patrick Crosby!"

"OH! She brought out the full name!" Marc laughed and patted Sidney's back, "She's serious!"

"All right fine," he said and I saw the smirk on his face, and looked at him confused.

I screamed as I felt the back of my shirt pull back and felt the coldness of the ice down my back. The guys were laughing and I turned around to see James standing there laughing with an empty cup in his hand.

"James Neal!" I yelled and then stood up.

"Oh shit!" he yelled and then turned around and started to run.

"I'll kill you!" I yelled as we ran out into the hall and I chased after him.

He was running towards the ice and I smirked because I didn't actually think that he would run out onto the ice, but he did. I cursed as I took my foot off the ice and glared at him. James was more accustomed to the ice than I was, so he had no problem running out onto the ice in his sneakers, I didn't, and it didn't help with the fact that I had flats on.

"Dammit James! Come here and take my punishment like a man!" I yelled and he laughed and started to slide over towards the visiting side door, "James!"

"You gotta catch me first!" he yelled and I growled and then turned around and started to run down the hallway heading over to where James would be coming out.

As I turned the corner, I slammed into someone and started to fall back, but they grabbed my arm and stopped me from falling to the ground. I looked up and saw Sidney starting there with a smirk on his face.

"Thanks," I said and then stood up straight, "Where is he?"

"James?"

"Yeah."

"Don't know, last I saw him, he was running out of the room because you were chasing him," he said and I growled and then looked passed Sidney to see that James was peaking his head around the corner.

"I see you!" I yelled and ran passed Sidney to head over towards him, "Don't run!"

"No you don't!" Sidney said and I felt his arms around my waist and he pulled me into his chest, "It's safe!"

"No, let me go! Sid!" I yelled and then heard laughing and turned to see that the guys were pouring out of the room, hearing the noise, and wanting to know what was going on, "I'm gunna kill you guys!"

"Ah, an empty threat!" James said as he walked over towards me.

I reached out my arms to grab him, but Sidney moved his hands from around my waist to my wrists and held them up high, "Stop picking on the little kid!" I growled and I heard Sidney laugh.

"Hey Kat," I heard and looked to the side to see James walking back over with another cup.

"Don't you dare!" I yelled and started to kick the air, trying to keep James back, "James! I'm warning you!"

"Empty threats," he laughed and walked over towards me.

"I'll bench your ass!" I yelled trying not to laugh but it wasn't working, "James! NO!" I yelled but he threw the cup and my head fell forward and I laughed when nothing was in it. The guys were laughing and I fell to my knees and shook my head, "You guys are jerks!"

"Ah, you still love us though," Sidney said as he bent down and kissed my cheek.
