No Sense of Direction

No Sense of Direction 055:

Chapter Fifty Five

“How have you guys been?” I smiled when I looked at the team that I had originally started with, the Washington Capitals.

“We’re good, how ‘bout you? Surprised to see that you left the Bruins and went to the Penguins,” Alex Ovechkin said and I sighed and nodded my head.

“After my parents-“ I said and he nodded his head, “Wanted to stick close to home.”

“Makes sense,” he said and I smiled over towards Mike Green.

“I heard about your little twitter war,” I laughed and walked over towards Mike, ruffling his hair.

“Oh yeah?” he laughed and I smirked and nodded my head, “Eh, we’re good now.”

“What was her name?”

“Amanda I think,” he laughed.

“Did you sleep with her?” I asked and then heard the guys laughed.

“Shut up, Kat! No I didn’t,” he said and I smirked and patted his shoulder.

“Well I better head back to my team,” I laughed and the guys nodded their heads, “Good luck tonight.”

“I think your boys need it more than us,” Brooks Laich said and I rolled my head and headed towards the door.

“I’ll walk you over,” Alex said and I smiled and nodded my head.

“Так как же вы, Саша? Как же Мария? Я слышал, вы, наконец, сделал ей предложение,” (So how are you, Sasha? How's Maria? I heard you finally proposed to her) I asked and Alex laughed.

“До сих пор не научились задать один вопрос за один раз,” (Still haven't learned to ask one question at a time) Alex said and I scoffed and playfully shoved his shoulder, “Я в порядке, я, наконец, проснулись и начали играть в игру,” (I'm fine, I finally woke up and started to play the game) he laughed and I nodded my head, “Мария хорошо, и да, я предлагаю, я не уверен, когда свадьба, мы не установили точную дату.” (Maria is well, and yes, I did propose, I'm not sure when the wedding is, we haven't set an exact date)

“Ну, не забудьте прислать мне приглашение,” (Well don't forget to send me an invite) I reminded as I poked Alex’s shoulder.

Alex chuckled, “Я не буду.” (I won’t)

-Sidney-

Geno and I were walking the halls wondering where Kat was. I heard someone talking and then felt Geno put his hand out in front of me, stopping me before we turned the corner. We both peaked our hands around the corner and I looked to see that Kat was standing there talking with Alex Ovechkin.

‘…What the hell?...’ I thought as I saw Kat laugh at something that Ovechkin had said.

They were speaking Russian, so the only one that was able to understand them was Geno, and I got lucky to see that he was listening intently.

“Go,” Geno whispered.

“What?” I asked confused and Geno stood up and grabbed my shirt and started to jog down the hallway.

“She coming,” he muttered and then turned around the one corner and leaned against the wall.

“What were they saying?”

“You no trust Kat?”

“No, I do, it’s Ovechkin that I don’t trust,” I muttered and he sighed.

“No worry, just talking about Ovechkin’s proposal and wedding,” Geno said and I rolled my eyes, “Calm down, Sid, Kat use to work for Caps, she friends with them. You knew this.”

“I know, I know-“

“Come,” he said and then pulled me around the corner, “Hi Kat!”

I looked up and saw Kat walking down the hallway, she smiled when she saw me and then ran over towards me and pressed her lips onto mine, “I thought you went back to Pittsburgh?!”

“No, I wanted to watch the last away game before we went home,” I said and she smiled and nodded her head, “Where’d you go?”

“I went to see the team, I haven’t seen them in a while,” she said and then patted my shoulder, “Come on Geno, you need to get ready.”

“All right,” he said and then looked towards me, “She no lie.”

“She’s gotta know that I can’t stand him,” I said and Geno sighed.

“He her friend, you need to trust her,” he said and I took a deep breath and nodded my head.

“Go get dressed buddy,” I said and patted Geno’s shoulder.

-Katrina-

“All right guys!” I cheered as I walked into the locker room after all of the guys were decent.

We had one against the Capitals and were going out to celebrate, well the guys were, I planned on staying in my hotel room and relax with Sidney. I walked over towards Kris and patted his shoulder, this was his second game back and I was wondering how his toe was doing.

“It’s all good, Kat,” he said and I smiled, “No pain.”

“Good,” I said and then walked into Uncle Dan’s office, “You should be proud, we’re number one in the league thanks to this win!”

“Don’t get cocky; the Ducks aren’t far behind,” he said and I sighed and nodded my head, “Are you going out with the team tonight?”

“No, Sidney and I are gunna relax in the room tonight,” I said and he smiled and nodded his head.

After everyone had finished up, they went onto the bus and headed back to the hotel room. On the way back, the guys were trying to convince Sidney and I to come out with them, but I wanted to stay in tonight.

We went to the room and jumped onto the bed; Sidney turned on the TV and went straight to the NHL channel. The man was talking about Sidney’s injury; I looked over towards Sidney to see that he look upset for the fact that he wasn’t playing his favorite sport.

“That’s enough of that,” I said as I took the remote and changed the channel, turning TBS on and seeing that the show Big Bang Theory was on. Sidney took a deep breath and I sighed and jumped onto the bed and brought myself onto his lap, “You’re going to be back before you know it,” I smiled as I grabbed his face and made him look at me, “It just takes time.”

“I just it helps to have a good physical therapist,” he said and I smiled and ran my hands through his hair and kissed his cheek.

When I tried to get up, Sidney had his hands on my hips and sat me back down. I smirked and pressed my lips against his. I had to pull away because he winced.

“You need to take it easy, Sid,” I said and he groaned in frustration and tried to push me off, but I locked myself down, “Calm down, Sid, it’s going to be fine.”

“I can’t even kiss you without it hurting!” he said and then pushed me off of him and got out of the bed.

“Sid.”

“No Kat, just- just give me a little bit,” he said and then walked out of the hotel room.

When the door clicked closed I signed and then got out of bed and shook my head. I ran my fingers through my hair and then walked over towards the door and out into the hallway to see that some of the guys were walking down towards the elevators.

“Hey! Kat! Did you change your mind, mon cher?!” Kris asked and I shook my head, “What’s wrong?”

“You see Sid?” I asked and he shook his head, “Damn.”

“What’s wrong?” he asked and some of the guys looked at me.

“Nothing, go have fun tonight,” I said as I walked down the hallway and towards the stairwell.

“Let us know if you need anything!” I heard them say and wave my hand back to them.

I walked through the hotel and tried to find where Sidney had gone, but I couldn’t. After almost an hour I had given up and walked into my room and over towards my desk to see that I had left my phone there.

‘…So much for a peaceful night with Sid…’ I thought as I picked up my phone to see that I had two texts and three missed calls and voicemails. I opened the texts to see that they were from Kris and Geno asking if I was sure that I didn’t want to come out.

I replied saying no thanks and then went to look to see who had called me, I was shocked to see that all of the missed calls were from Milan and that the voicemails were from him too, “What the hell?”

I had an internal debate with myself about whether or not to listen to them, but my curiosity had gotten the best of me and before I know it, I was sitting in the desk chair and pressing the first voicemail message. I was Milan, he was totally drunk and it sounded like he was out at a club, he was saying how much he missed me and wanted to see me. I sighed and moved on to the next one to see that it was him again, it sounded like he was walking, his words were slurred and he get on apologizing for acting like an idiot towards me and that he wanted me back.

“Just stop already,” I breathed as I listened to the last one.

I could hear voices in the background, I heard his teammates, they were telling him that what he was doing was a bad idea and that if he wanted to talk to me, do it when he was sober. I sighed and then heard the message end.

“Well, I wasn’t planning on that happening.”
