Through the Dark

Wanted Duck

The next morning, I was low on food again.
So in the fresh morning, I walked out onto my porch with a confident posture. "Voyons ce que nous attrapons," I muttered to myself as I lifted my gun more into the air, cocking it. I then put my gun down to my side and clamoured down the stairs quickly and headed left into the woods. (Let's see what we catch.)
The night air was still around since it was quite early in the morning. Light mist hovered above the moist dirt ground as dew laid on the the leaves of the treetops. The air was so cool, I could feel it numb my face a bit as I went deeper into the forest, but it was also refreshing. Animals should still be around since the forest was shady, making it seem like the day reversed a bit back into the late night.
I stepped quickly between the towering trees, trying to forget what happened yesterday with Bella.
I haltered in my thoughts and my motions. (Did she not want to hang out with me? Or she missed our date for a good reason? She stood me up--why? Maybe something bad happened to her. Maybe she misunderstood me and thought it was today we were gonna meet up, not yesterday.)
"Oh non, ce serait mauvais." I snapped my head around, looking behind my shoulder; all I saw was a stretch of trees and dissolving fog. I was clearly far enough to not see my house. (Oh no, that'd be bad.)
"Devrais-je revenir en arrière?" I whispered underneath my breath. "Non, je dois alimentaire!" I extended my hands out. (Should I go back?; No, I need food)
I groaned, shaking my head as I turned my head back around, gazing ahead of me. "Faisons de cette rapide..." I nodded my head and continued on trekking down the forest. (Let's make this quick...)
(Maybe when we kissed, she was beginning to have second thoughts about me... Or maybe she's cooking something that takes over a day to make? Or maybe she somehow forgot where I lived? Or she's forbidden to see me? Nah...I should just stop thinking about her and think about hunting!)
I then heard an odd sound echoing from my right sound: Quack!
I stopped in my tracks and perked up; my hands automatically flew up, positioning my gun into firing mode. I then began walking in a circle, keeping a close eye on my surroundings with my gun pointing out in front of me. "Qu'est-ce que c'est?" (What was that?)
The sound came again: Quack quack!
"Ce bruit semble provenir d'un canard!" I made a bewildered look at a tree. "Qu'est-ce qu'un canard fait ici?" I lowered my gun down as I looked down in puzzlement. "Canards ne vivent pas ici!" (That sounds like a duck! What's a duck doing here? Ducks don't live here!)
But the duck made its sound again, this time sounding much closer: Quuuack!
I gazed behind my shoulder, seeing below the thinning fog a brown duck with a green head and a yellow beck and webbed feet. I shot an odd look at it. "Qu'est ce que tu fais là?" (What are you doing here?)
It quacked again, flapping its wings.
I turned around fully, standing in front of the waterfowl. I gazed down at it with inquiring eyes while rubbing my chin with my free hand. "Peut-être que je peux vous manger. Cela semble mauvais, mais le canard a bon goût!" (Maybe I can eat you. That sounds bad, but duck tastes good!)
The duck quacked at me then began waddling to my right, heading towards my houses' direction.
"Stupide canard," I muttered with a light chuckle as I placed my gun back on my shoulder and aimed at it; I then pulled the trigger. (Stupid duck.)
A TWANG! went off and the duck flew into the air for a moment, flapping its wings wildly before it landed back on its feet and continued waddling along.
I lowered my gun down in bewilderment, staring at the duck. "Comment?" I went into firing position again and took another shot at the duck. (How?)
Once again, the duck flew into the air, and then landed back down and continued heading its way.
"Ai-je raté ou...?" I shot at it when my target on the duck perfectly. (Am I missing or...?)
The duck hopping into the air with a quack and placed itself gently on the ground; it continued waddling on.
I bared my teeth with a low growl as I pushed my gun down from my sight. "Beaux. Être de cette façon." I then gripped my gun with my right hand and began running to the duck with my left hard extended out in front of me, ready to grab the waterfowl. (Fine. Be that way.)
But the animal lifted off from the ground and began flying dangerously to the ground with more speed than me.
I began chasing the duck through the forest; the cold air was hitting my face, making me think that I wouldn't be able to feel it for the rest of the day. I lunged over protruding tree roots and under hanging branches, feeling the speed of this chase rush through me.
The duck led me out of the forest and back to my house's area. I then decided to unleash some of my powers out to get an advantage of this chase. So I mentally directed my energy to surface and felt it rushing through my whole body as I threw myself into the air with both hands out towards the duck, having to let my gun drop onto the grassy ground. Claws popped out from my tense fingers as I felt my fangs slide out from my gums. I then clipped my claws onto the left wing of the duck and pulled it close to me, against my chest. I then felt gravity kick in, thrusting me onto the ground with a loud THUMP!
I laid on the ground as I felt my powers fade away from the surface. I was breathing hard with wide eyes like as if I ran around the forest numerous times. Well, I practically did. I then gazed down, seeing the duck perched in my arms, not doing a thing; it just letted out a quack.
I letted out a sigh of relief. "Bon, je vous ai." (Good, I got you.)
I got up with a groan, feeling sore on my left side since that was where I landed on. I lumbered to the left side of the house, rounded the corner, and sauntered into my butchering room after unlocking and opening it. I gently placed the duck on the table that was in the middle of the room. I then turned around and walked over to the opened doors. I swung them closed and locked them so that no animals would enter. As I finishing that, I heard a clattering noise, like as if something hard and metallic fell onto the round.
I turned my head to look behind my shoulders and letted out a long gasp. I jumped with wide eyes a bit as I turned around fully and slammed my back and arms against wooden door with shock.
Sitting on the table was a man with messy light brown hair with bangs and cold blue eyes, dressed in black.
Qui est cette personne, Où est le canard? Quelqu'un est ici--mon fusil, mon fusil! With haste, I felt that my hands were empty, so I patted my jeans, desperately looking for my gun. Then it hit me: I left it outside. Oh tirer, I hissed between my teeth as I hit my head against the wooden surface. (Who is this person, where's the duck? Somebody's here--my gun, my gun!; Oh shoot)
The guy jumped off from the table and began making his way over to me. "You're coming with me," he told me in a deep, menacing voice. He then halted in front of me.
"Never." I then threw a hook punch at his face.
His neck twisted upward along with his head due to the hit, but he immediately shook it off and stared at me again like as if I didn't even touch him.
He then leaned closer to me and I felt a sharp, agonizing feel rip through my thigh. "AHHHHHCK!" I tumbled onto the ground as I held onto my left thigh; blood began seeping out from it, flowing between my fingers and onto the ground. I snapped my eyes up, seeing the guy looming down at me with a red-tipped sword by his side. Il me est poignardé! (He stabbed me!)
I tried mustering up energy to get up, but the only thing my mind was glued on was the pain.
"Now you're coming with me," the man told me.
I then saw a gray, dull object flash in my vision before pain erupted from my head; a few seconds later, everything went dark.

Yeah! You should totally do it!! :) I like The Flash alt. intro ideas and I think this one would be an amazing idea. Granted you can wait until something is finished first. Haha. :)

Yay! :) Thank you, thank you! Yes, Kane does have pyrokinesis because this story is part of the series Something derived from, so yea... If you want to see it from an original view point, Kane is Cole from Something in this story ;) But since this is on the hockeyfanfic site, I just put it with the hockey players' actual names. But when this goes into Wattpad, Kane's name would be changed to Cole! :D You get? ;)
