All of me

"So...How's Cancun?!" As I FaceTimed Katie.

Adam had taken her to Cancun as a Valentines present the week after, since he missed Valentine’s Day because he went to visit his parents. She was not complaining.

"Heaven! I love it here. Can't wait for you to see my tan!" as she tried to display her tan.

"A tan? Where? I only see a burn right now" as I teased her. This girl never got tan, she just burned. Maybe because Boston isn’t a great place to maintain a tan since the weather is bipolar all the time.

"Shut up, it's a tan you'll see!" Katie said as she tried to get better lighting.

"I know, I'm kidding, I can kinda see it." I said laughing because of her reaction.

"Hi Emma!" I hear McQuaid yelling and waving from the back. He comes closer and grabs the phone from Katie.

I wave back with a smile on my face.

"Heard you guys have had not one but two winter storms up there. That's rough" he said smiling.

"Yep. Don't look too concerned over there, we're all hanging in there" I said lifting an eyebrow, attempting to keep a annoyed face. Failed.

"Hahaha!"

"It's not really that bad other than the fact we're snowed in. I'm not complaining. It's too cold to do anything anyways haha"

"I know what you mean. Stay inside, its dangerous out there, okay?"

“Yes dad” I said in a defeated voice.

Katie was cracking up in the back.

"Okay! I'll let you guys go, enjoy the sun! And take care of my sis Quaider!"

"You know I will" as he gives her a kiss on the cheek.

"You guys are too cute! Enjoy the rest of your vaca! Muah" as they both returned kisses.

I laugh as I end the call. I was so happy for Katie, her previous relationships hadn't ended so well. Katie gives her all in relationships, in her words "she dives in relationships rather than tiptoe in." If you get what I mean. That is how she has always been. She had been cheated on and treated like crap multiple times. I think she finally found a guy that cares for her as much as she does.

On Friday morning Katie texted me saying that they had landed in Logan Airport.

"Ok, I’m on my way. Text me the gate please." I offered to pick them up since I had the morning free.

It took me like 15 to get to the airport. Surprisingly there was no traffic. I pop open the trunk as I see Katie walk out of the doors.

"Hey hey!" As she gets closer and gives me a hug.

"Hi! Aww I missed your face! Look at you all tan and glowing."

"Thanks! But holy hell it's freezing here!" as she wrapped her arm around herself, shivering.

"Told you!"

"Did you miss me?" As Adam approaches the car.

"Ehh" as I make a face.

"Wow I thought we were tight, never mind." He stood there giving me the evil eye.

"Aww, come here" as I give him a hug, his hands are still on side. He finally gives in and opens his arms.

"You guys are so tan, it isn't even funny. Please don't stand next to me" as I pout my lip. As I close the trunk and get in the car.

"Ready?"

"Yes! Please go" as her teeth chattered.

We drop Adam at his place. Since Dougie lived in the same building, he had given Dougie his key and a few of the guys were gonna come over Adam’s place and watch the hockey game between USA and Canada. I see a few cars parked outside the apartment, Reilly’s being one of them.

"You guys want to come up and watch the game?"

"No we're good, I need to take a shower and going to pass out." Katie says.

Thank you Katie.

"Ok! Thanks for the ride Emma." As he gives Katie a kiss through the window.

"Bye"

We wait until he goes in.

"Thank you!"

"You're welcome. I saw how you froze when you saw his car. "

"You know me all to well missy.”

“Obviously! Have you guys talked at all?”

“Not since that night, he said he was going home so I haven’t really seen him around” as I grip the wheel.

“Oh okay” as she stares at the road ahead.

“Yeah...Let's go home"

Later that afternoon, Katie walks into my room.

"Hey when do you work tomorrow?"

"4 til close, how come?"

"Damn it! Lucic is having a get together/party thing since it's their last weekend off, until they play again and he invited us. Can you try to switch your shift?"

"I'll ask someone right now"

I texted a few people. They were either home for the weekend or flat out said no. It was a Saturday I wasn’t surprised.

"Why does this always happen to me! Hopefully it's not that busy and I can leave early but I'll definitely stop by after work if it's still going on"

"Okay, sounds good!"

Next day.

I get out of work around 9:30. As I head towards the car, I check my phone and received a text from Katie,

"Are you coming?!" She was so impatient.

"Just got into the car, be there in 20 min." I text her back.

Once I got there, there were so many cars in the driveway and no space to park. I texted Katie asking where I should park. I figured I’d change inside because I was still in my work clothes.

"Wait right there, I'll come right down."

"Okay"

I see Katie speedwalking and get in the car.

"Let's go for a ride real quick! We need to talk" She was out of breath.

"Is everything okay? Is Reilly okay?" I was so confused.

"Just drive please!”

“Ok! Calm down.” I pull out of the drive way and onto the street.

“But OH MY GOD! You aren't going to believe what I just found out! Holy shit!"

"Feels like I'm driving the getaway car! You're freaking me out! Spill!"

"Ok! Ok! So..." She begins after taking a deep breath.
