Katie's POV (6 hours earlier)

"Hey babe" as I got in the car, then giving him a kiss.

"Sorry I'm late, I went to the liqueur store and got a few things" Adam said.

"No worries! I wish we had made something but I didn't really have time to do anything today" as we left the driveway.

"Don't worry about it, whenever Brittany throws a party she likes to do everything herself. She's very picky. I'm sure you could help her out when we get there. She will like that. Plus we’re kind of early"

Brittany is Lucic's wife. She's such a sweetheart. I have met her a few times at games and when we've gone out. Out of all the other girls, she’s the one that I’ve gotten most close to.

"Alrighty!" I put my left hand on his cheek, he grabs it and kisses it.

"So, Is Emma still coming tonight?"

"Yeah, around 10 I think, depending how busy work is. I hope that bitch isn't there tonight though.”

"Katie! That's not really nice!"

"I'm sorry. I don't like her. She's like a flea that won't go away."

He starts laughing.

"I know, I know I'm kidding. She can be really annoying when she wants to" he says.

"You mean every second of every day?! I just feel bad for Reilly you know. He's stuck and can't really do anything about it."

"Yeah he seems miserable. You should see the way his face lights up whenever I mention Emma. I just want to go over to him and give him a hug." he frowns.

He continues,

"Did she like the flowers?" I look over to him.

"You knew about the flowers?"

"Of course! He bought them but then started panicking. Didn't want to send them because he didn't think she wanted anything from him. But then your boy right here convinced him. " as he flashed all of his teeth.

"Aww you're adorable! You're the best wingman ever!" I started laughing.

I continue,

"But yeah she loved them, she couldn't stop crying. Causing me to cry. We were a mess. Then stuffed our faces with chocolate afterwards while watching chick flicks." I place my hand on my cheek.

"Girls" he said as he shook his head. I lightly slap his shoulder.

"Listen if that was me in her situation, I don't know what I would do! Emma is doing a great job keeping it all in. I don't know how she does it. Unlike me she keeps things in the inside and it eats her up but you'll never know by looking at her. Then one day everything that’s bottled inside comes out and it's bad" my voice got softer as I finished talking as tears started forming in my eyes.

"She's a very strong person, I can definitely tell." As he nods.

"We're here!" As he pulls up into the giant driveway.

Milan’s house was massive, almost like a tiny mansion, filled with beautiful cobblestones, flowers, a fountain in the front, big open grass area, and a massive parking lot. It was beautiful.

We walk up to the front door and ring the bell.

Milan answers.

"Hey guys! Come in, come in." He gives Adam a pat in the back .

"Katie! Welcome!" As he gives me a hug.

"Thank you for having us. What a beautiful house!"

"Thank you!" He flashes me a smile.

As we walk in, I see Brittany in the kitchen.

"Katie!" She steps out and gives me a hug. "Don't you look pretty!"

"Thank you! You’re too sweet.Thanks for having us! Would you like some help?"

"Yes please. I could use you're help. I've been in this kitchen all day!"

"I'm sure Looch helped with all of this, right Looch?" I start laughing.

"Definitely. I did everything, she just stepped into the kitchen when you guys walked in" As he gives her a smirk followed by a wink.

"Uh huh sure. He's more of a distraction than anything" she says as he come from behind.

“Hey, I heard that!” he says as he gives her kiss. So precious.

"Isn't she amazing though?" he asks as he’s facing me.

I nod and give her a smile.

"Ok go sit with Adam, you're not being a good host" as she pushes him out of the kitchen.

"Alright, alright. I'm going"

We all laugh.

"Katie, can you please dump these chips in these bowls and place them into the table"

"Of course" as I walk towards the table.

She had made so much food, it was ridiculous but it all looked amazing. Anything from wings, different types of dips, finger food such as mini hot dogs, pigs in a blanket, sandwiches, subs etc.

"Wow this looks delicious! Can’t believe you made all of this! You are an amazing cook."

"Aw! Thank you lovely but it's not that big of a deal, Can you please bring these to the table as well?"

“Sure!”

"Thank you lovely."

She continues,

"Where is Emma, I hope she can make it tonight. I haven't seen her in a while."

"She's working but she's stopping by after" I smile.

"Good!"

After a few minutes people start to come. Chara arrived followed by Krejci, Marchy, Boychuk, and Bergeron. All with their significant others of course. Dougie came with Torey and a few minutes after Jess walks in, with Reilly right behind her. I didn't get why she couldn't just stay home. They aren't together. I didn't get it at all.

Everyone spread out. Some people were sitting around the couch, some standing, some eating. Everyone was having a good time. It was crazy too see the room filled with the Boston Bruins. It was hard to believe that I was friends with them, most importantly be dating one of them. It hasn’t hit me yet. It was an amazing feeling.

I see Reilly sitting on the couch talking to Torey and Dougie. His eyes wonder around the room and he sees me in the kitchen. I give him a smile and a wave. He smiles and quickly gets up and heads towards me.

"Hey!" As he gives me a big hug.

"Hey! What's up?" I ask.

"Nothing much, just came back from home yesterday." with a smile on his face.

"Aw! How was that? Your parents must have been so happy to have you home!"

"Yeah they were! It was good to get away from everything even if it were for a little while, you know?" he said shaking his head.

"Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. Did she come with you?" As I stared at Jess who seemed very uncomfortable sitting on the couch, her eyes pierced on us.

"No, she stayed here. I haven't really told my parents. I don't know how I'm going to tell them just yet."

I nod. He continues.

"How's um...Emma doing?" he asks uncertainly.

"She's good, been working a lot."

"That's good" He nods and looks down.

"She's going to stop by later, after she gets off of work" he quickly looks up at me, the breathe that he was keeping in slowly exhaled, as a sigh of relief.

"Thanks" he smiles.

"Now go sit down, she's been giving me death stares for the past 10 minutes. It's creeping me out" I laugh as I push him away.

"I'm sorry" he apologizes.

"It's not your fault bud." I head back into the kitchen.

"Damn it!" I noticed I spilled some of my wine on my white dress shirt as I had turned around. It wasn't that much but it was noticeable, to me at least.

"Hey do you mind telling me where the bathroom is?" I ask Brittany.

"It's at the end of the hall to your left, but it seems like there is a line. Why don't you use the one upstairs in our bedroom. Second door to the right hun." She whispers followed by a smile.

"Thank you!" As I start heading up the stairs. I walk down the hall and find their bedroom. It was beautiful. I didn't want to snoop their bedroom so I head towards the bathroom. It was all marble, it was as big as my kitchen and dining room combined. I go to the mirror and take off my shirt. I grab some soap and rub it on trying not to spread the stain. I get most of it out and then let it air dry real quick.

Thats when I hear the bedroom slam. I freeze. Who was up here?!

"Wait! I can't hear you. One second."

She sounded very familiar. It was not Brittany, that's for sure.

"You're so annoying! I was downstairs I couldn't talk, it was too loud. Calm down!"

Oh my god. Jess! I turn off the bathroom light and go behind the door which was already closed, trying to ease drop on her conversation. I know this is weird and stalkerish but I didn't care.

Why was she even up here in their bedroom? Did she follow me?

"Ok, Can you hear me now? Yeah, I'm at a house party with Reilly at one of his teammates house so that's why I couldn't talk earlier."

Slight pause.

"Yeah it's going real well. Still having some morning sickness here and there but it's getting better with Reilly helping out and all. He is being such a great guy but too bad he’s such a fool.

Wait what? A fool?

"No! Of course I'm not gonna say anything, you crazy?! You better not say shit Sarah...you hear me?" As she said through her teeth.

"We're the only two who know the truth so if he finds out it's going to be all on you because obviously I'm not gonna say anything. I can’t let it slip. My baby's future is set if I stay with Reilly rather than that loser Kevin, who still lives in his parents' basement. It would make no sense, you know."

Oh my god. What? Oh my god. No. Is this really happening?! The kid isn't Reilly's! I knew it! Wait...who is Kevin? I have to tell Emma. I cover my mouth because I'm about to scream.

“What if he finds out? He’s not! Trust me I know what I’m doing.”

Oh crap! She's walking to the bathroom HIDE! I grab my shirt that was drying and jump in the tub that had curtains surrounding it. Thank god.

She walks in and turns on the light as she heads towards the mirror. Fixing her hair and retouching her makeup.

"Okay. I'm going to go. He'll start wondering where I am."

No he won't.

"I'll talk to you soon Sarah...Bye." she quickly hangs us. She's so rude to her poor friend. Soon after that she leaves.

I'm still sitting in the tub, trying to absorb everything that just happened. I get up, make sure the coast is clear and try to go downstairs.

I need to find Reilly.

Hey hey! I meant to write sooner because I hated ending leaving you guys with that cliffhanger but I graduated yesterday so I had a busy weekend! Ill try to post a few more chapters before I go on vacation to Europe this Friday for a few weeks!
