All of me

I wake up in the morning and check my phone. No call. No text. Nothing.

I figured he wanted space so I did not bother him. I had work early this morning and started getting dressed.

I decided to walk to the T rather than catch the bus first. It was a nice day out. The sun was out, bright and early, no wind, it was a great way to start the day. I kept thinking back to what had happened last night. It was still a lot to digest.

When I went into work, it was not busy at all. It normally isn't in the morning, since it was a Monday and everyone is at work.

I was working the registers and a few people can in and out. I was looking for a pen in my pocket so I took my phone out and placed it on the counter. The phone started buzzing and falls on the ground. It was Reilly. I go to pick it up from the ground, silence it and as soon as I get up, I notice someone is standing in front of me.

Before looking up I say,

"Hi, sorry about that, how many I help-" I finally make eye contact with the costumer. It was the man from the other day. My heart started beating out of my chest. Everything was closing in, I could not breathe.

"Hey there beautiful, remember me?" He said as he got closer. He had on a baseball cap, and was holding a paper bag.

He continues,

"Of course you do, now I need a favor. See this list," as he places the list on the counter,

"I need everything on there, as soon as possible. Or else I’m going to do something that I don’t really want to do" as he reaches into his paper back and pulls out a gun and points it directly towards me.

Oh my God. Am I dreaming? No. No its not a dream Emma.

"I don't want to hurt you, just please give me my pills and all of the money in the register."

I froze, I did not what to do. At that moment my pharmacist walks out.

"Woah, okay sir, you don't want to do that. Please put your gun down, I'll give you everything you need, just put it down, please." as she tries to calm him down.

"I'm not going to hurt her if you give me what I want."

"Okay, okay I'll grab those right away." She says as she heads towards the shelves.

"Wait...I want her to get them from me." as he looks at me.

"She won't know where they are..."

"NOW!"

"Emma, Here you go hun." As she hands me the paper bag. "They are in the back."

"Okay" I whisper as I go to the back and fill the bag with the pain medications that he wanted. My hands were shaking so bad that I couldn't grab the bottles without knocking the ones around it.

"You okay back there?" He says at he stairs at my direction.

"Yes" I said as I come back to the corner.

"Now, empty the cash register and we'll call it a day...what do you say?"

How was he so calm about this?

As I open the cash register, I press the emergency button at the bottom of the counter. Trying to make it unnoticeable.

I look at the pharmacist and she nods her head.

I finish putting in all the cash in the paper bag and hand it to him.

He grabs the bag and then asks me;

"Can you give me your hand?"

What? I hesitated and then gave him my hand. He kissed the top of it and thanked me.

"Thanks sweetheart" he winks at me, with the gun still pointed at us as he runs out of the store.

"Oh my god" I say as I lose all strength in my legs and sit on the side of the wall.

"Emma, sweetie are you okay?! Someone give me some water!"

I take one small sip and she puts water in between her hands and wets my face. I just look at her. She pulls me into a hug. No tears would come out of my eyes because of the fact that I was still shocked. No matter how much I wanted to cry. Nothing came out.

I just remembered telling myself to just breathe. My heart felt like it was about to pop out of my chest at any moment.

“Okay, I’m going to go outside for some fresh air” I said as I walked out.

“Be careful, Officer Johns assist you” she says.

“Okay” as I walk out and sit on one of the benches.

Katie's POV

"Hello?" I answer my cellphone from an unknown number.

"Hi, Is this Katie?" A female voice asks.

"Yes, this is she."

"Hi, Its Karen, from the pharmacy that Emma works at. Something has happened and we need you to come down and pick her up." She says and takes a pause.

What?!

"Oh my god. Is she okay?! What happened." My heart was racing.

She tells me everything that had happened earlier.

"I'll be right there!" I say as I put my jeans on. I just had switched in my pajamas as soon as I came home from class.

Shit. Shit. Shit. I was running around like a crazy person.

I grab my purse and my keys and head towards the door. As soon as I open the door, I see Reilly standing, about to knock.

"Reilly!" I put my hand on my chest. He had frightened me.

"Hey, Is Emma home? I keep calling but she won't answer me."

I take a deep breathe.

"Reilly, something has happened and I'm going to go pick her up from work. She's not hurt but she is not doing well."

"What?! What happened?"

"Okay so this man came into the pharmacy earlier in the week and wanted his pain meds but it was a copied prescription so they couldn't give it to him. So today, he comes in and robs the pharmacy at gunpoint and gets away. Emma is shaken up and is in bad shape. The pharmacist just called me and that's where I'm heading." I try to catch my breath.

Reilly just stood there, in shock. You could see the bags under his eyes from the night before and now this. This kid was going to lose it.

“Oh my God”, is all he said. His hands on his head.

“You go ahead, I’ll be right behind you” he says.

“Okay, let’s go!”

When I made it to the pharmacy, I don’t remember how I actually got there. I was driving but my mind was something else. I find a parking spot and get out and see Emma siting on the bench, with her white coat on, elbows on her knees, hands covering her face. Seeing her like this killed me, I can’t imagine what she’s going through.

Emma’s POV

The parking lot was empty which never happened, well empty with just police cars. It was quiet and almost peaceful. The crisp winter air felt good on my skin. I just had a thin longsleeve shirt under my white coat. It was slightly chilly but I hardly noticed although I felt numb all over. I hadn’t shed a single tear and it was killing me from the inside.

I see a black VW park infront of me. Katie. She runs towards me. She pulls me into a big hug. I grab onto her like with equal strength as my body started shaking.

“Oh my God sweetie, are you okay? Are you hurt at all? Please answer me!” as she pulls me infront of her and I just shake my head.

“Oh thank God!”

“I’m okay, I’m not hurt, physically that is. I’m just... I’m trying to make sense of everything. Its all a big blur. It’s like a nightmare that you can’t wake up from.”

That’s when I feel tears coming down my face.

“Okay, let me go inside and talk to the cops and grab your stuff, okay?”

I nod sit back down.

A few moments later, a larger black car parks right next to Katie’s car. I can’t see who is driving because it is out of my vision range. I hear footsteps go around the car and then coming towards me. My heart started racing again. I stare at the open space where this person was walking towards and immediately noticed it was Reilly.

When our eyes met, he stopped midstep and just looked at me. He seemed so tired, as if he hadn’t slept in days and exhausted. That deep breath that he was holding in, finally escapes his lips.

I quickly get up and I slowly move towards him. At this point, tears started running down my face as I started moving towards him, picking up my pace until our bodies finally crash into each other. His arms were wrapped tightly against me, leaving no possible gap between us. We just stood there for a few moments, neither one of us saying anything.

“Babe, Are you okay? Are you hurt?” as he pulls out of the hug and his hands cup my face.

“I’m so sorry about everything! I don’t know what I would do if anything happened to you! When Katie told me what happened, I didn’t know what to do...I...” he was trying to find words that matched his exact emotions but nothing would come out except tears, flowing down his cheeks. He put his head down.

“Shh...It’s okay. I’m okay, I’m not hurt. See? Come here” as I try to comfort him. I cupped his face and pulled him into a bigger hug. As I tried to hold in my tears.

He nods and now we’re standing face to face.

“Besides it should be me that should be sorry, Reilly. I shouldn’t have said all those things to you that day in the hallway. I regretted saying them as soon as I stepped foot in the elevator. You were going through something and instead of me helping, I made it worse by turning my back on you. And after what happened yesterday, I should have been there and I wasn’t...I wasn’t there for you and I’m truly sorry Reilly...” I don’t know how those last few sentences came out. At this point, my emotions were through the roof. I could not stop crying. I put my hands on my face, he pulls me closer to him as I gasp for air.

“Please don’t blame yourself Emms, you haven’t done anything wrong. You don’t have to apologize-”

“No, please you need to hear me out. I want you to hear this.”

I continue,

“These past few months have been awful because I didn’t, no, couldn’t have you in my life. You were taken for me and there was nothing I could do to get you back...I though I blew any chance of us ever being together.” I try to contain myself. “So I tried to not think about you and let you go...But today, as that gun was pointed to me, my life flashed before me eyes. I though of all the great times we had together and what I would do to go back and fix everything, just to see you one more time...and the things I never got to say to you. I kept praying, just one more time I wanted to see you again...and here you are...” I force a smile. I was a complete mess.

At this point his thumbs are gently stroking my tears away. I take a deep breathe.

“I love you Reilly”

There I finally said it.

His face lit up. His gentle lips met mine for a few moments, bringing me back to our first kiss. It was similar but with more passion and love, as if there those last few painful months never happened. It felt right, it felt like home, and it was where I wanted to be. As out lips parted, our foreheads touched. He lifts his head and kisses my forehead and pulls me against his racing chest.

“I love you too babe”

“Okay, Emma! Got your stuff. I’ll meet you at the house” Katie said with a warm smile on her face.

“Thank you for everything love, and not just for today” I say to her as I give her a big hug.

“You would have done the same for me Emms!”

“I love you guys!” as she joins me and Reilly and it turns into a group hug. “Alright I’ll see you home!” as she gets into the car and leaves.

I finally smile and a laugh escapes my lips.

“There she is” Reilly says as he kisses the side of my head.

“Alright let’s get you home” as he takes my hand and heads for the car.

“Oh, by the way...Thank you for the flowers! I loved them! ” I smile.

“You’re welcome! Glad you liked them!”

“But that list though...you got some explaining to do mister, some of those were not very nice...”

“Oh, Come on” He starts laughing out loud and drags me into the car.

Reilly dropped me home and went home to shower and change then was going to come over.

“Hey, Reilly didn’t come up?” Katie asks.

“He had to go home and change, he’s coming back shortly. But I’m going to take a bath”

“Okay, hun. What do you want to eat?”

“I’m not hungry at all, I just want to take a bath and take a nap.”

“Are you sure? I making lasagna, your favorite!” This girl was way too awesome.

“Aw, that’s very sweet, but after my nap I’ll have some. I promise. Thanks though!” I smile as I head towards the bathroom.

I turn the faucet on and let the tub fill. I dump some vanilla scented crystals that I had bought recently, that were suppose to help me relax. While the tub was filling, I finally look in the mirror. My eyes were red and swollen from crying, my lips were dry, my skin was filled with red patches...I look like death. Its been a long day.

I turn off the faucet with my toes and get into the tub. It felt amazing on my achy body. Even after everything that had happened today, things were finally falling into place. I felt like from now on everything was going to be okay. I’m glad I had finally told Reilly how I really felt about him and most importantly that I loved him. I know we have only known each other a couple of months and it might have been a little too soon but I’m glad I did because it was the truth.

I took a shower afterwards and changed into my sweats and headed for bed. I slowly began to fall asleep.

I heard voices on the other room but I still fell asleep.

I felt someone come into my room and place a blanket over me. It was Reilly. I jumped up.

“Hey you!” I said as I saw him standing there.

“Sorry I didn’t mean to wake you...” he whispers.

“You didn’t, come lay down with me please. I don’t want to be alone.” as I petted the bed.

Reilly gets on the bed as I roll by his side. While he was on his back, I place my head against his arm and chest. My hand wrapped around his torso. I looked up to him and gave him a warm smile. I lifted myself slightly to reach his lips. After a gently kiss, I rest my head against him and he buries his face on my hair.

“Get some rest babe” he says as he kisses my head and wraps his arms around me.

Hey Hey! So this will be the last chapter I will post before I leave! I'll definitely keep writing and when I come back I'll be posting a lot more!
