Katie's POV

'There she is!' Adam says as Reilly carries Emma into the living room.

Emma laughs as Reilly puts her down on the couch. He sits beside her.

'How are you feeling bud?' He asks

'I've definitely been better! Just a little sore but I'll be fine! But you should have seen the other guy...' she replies with a sarcastic voice as we all laugh.

'You're a badass! Haha! Reilly you better not get on her bad side. She might look innocent and all but it's all a disguise, isn't it?' Adam says as he gave her a sneaky look.

'Maybe...' As she reaches over and playfully punches Adam in the arm.

'See what I mean?! Damn girl!' As he rubs his arm.

'I'm not worried' Reilly laughs as he kisses her hand.

'Anyway! How was your week guys?' I ask.

'It was good. A bit exhausting but can't complain.' Reilly says.

He had been pretty quiet for most of the night. It might not have been easy knowing what Emma had been through.

'Congrats on the wins by the way! You guys are on fiyah' I say.

'Way to jinx it babe.' Adam says.

'What?! Shut up!' I said clearly upset.

'I'm kidding! Geez.' I don't say anything.

'Aww come here, give me a kiss.' he says.

I stayed at my seat, shook my head a laughed. I couldn’t stay made at this guy.

'You two are like an old married couple! Hahah!' Emma says.

Adam looks over at me as he winks.

'Haha I'll be right back' as Reilly leaves the room real quick.

'Okay!' As Reilly leaves the room, Emma starts talking.

'Okay guys! So Reilly's birthday is in a few weeks and I kind of want to throw him a party. I want to show him how much I appreciate what he's done for me. But I'm going to need help.' She says as she whispers.

'Of course! What did you have in mind?' Adam said.

'I'm still working on it. Haha maybe a few of his friends from home can come down and either throw a surprise party or just go out. I'm not really sure. Plus it's on a weekday so I need to know your schedule and when you boys are free. If you guys have any suggestions, don't hesitate!'

We hear the bathroom door open.

'Okay shh!' Emma says. She tries to change the subject.

'We'll figure something out, don't worry' I quickly mouth to Emma

She smiles and nods.

'So I've been thinking and I kind of want to take self defense classes. It'll be fun!' Emma suggests.

'Let’s do it! It'll definitely be good to let out some frustration as well!'

'Definitely! Although I may have a head start because of my past experiences.'

'You kicked ass kid! I'm so proud.' Adam said.

'It was all luck. That's what it was.' She says.

'Give yourself more credit please!' I say.

'Oh yeah, I'm sure I can take both of you guys...' She said with a sarcastic tone.

'Well there is only one way to find out! But only when you get better that is.' Adam says.

'That's a great idea! Once we go to a few classes, we can test them out!' I said.

'Now if only we knew some tough and aggressive men to try those moves on...hmm' Emma says.

'How about Dougie and Marchy?' I suggest.

'I couldn't agree more!' She agrees and we both start laughing.

'Ouch' Reilly says.

'Okay okay, maybe we can add you, Quaider. Reilly on the other hand...' Emma says as she slowly looks at Reilly, trying to keep a straight face.

He just shakes his head. We all start laughing.

'I'm just messing with you babe!' As she grabs his face and gives him a quick kiss. He just held her in his arms.

'But if we hurt you guys, don't say we didn't warn you...' I say.

'I'm sure we can handle it.' Adam said as he winked at me.

'It's settled then! Now, would you guys like something to drink?' I said as I headed to the kitchen. 'I still have sangria in the fridge from earlier!'

'I'll have a glass!' Emma says as she raises her hand.

'Boys?'

'Do you have beer? Wine will put me to sleep' Adam said.

'Yes, of course!'

'Reilly?'

'I'll have a beer as well' he replies.

The rest of night was basically us just talking about stupid stuff. I noticed that Emma had fallen asleep on Reilly’s arms. Reilly was laying next to her, looking down at her, rubbing her head.

'She'll be okay Reilly. She's one of the strongest people I've ever met.' I say to him.

'I know she is. It's just...she's been through so much. Wish I could do more, you know.' I could tell he was getting emotional.

'You've always been there for her, Reilly. I'm sure she appreciates that, I'm almost positive. You got to give yourself more credit man.' Adam said since Emma specifically told us earlier how much she appreciated him. I just hope he realizes that.

'Yeah' was all he said. Still not convinced. He will get it eventually.

'She does. Trust me I know!' I say as he smiles.

'It’s getting late. I should take her to her room so she can get some rest. Come on babe' He says as he gets up and he carries Emma into her room. He comes back shortly as he grabs a glass of water.

'Goodnight guys!' He says as he goes into room.

'Night!' We both say.

'Come here babe' Adam says as he pulls me closer to him.

'How are you doing? I mean with everything that's going on.' He says as he looked at me with concern.

'I'm okay, I guess. I just was terrified when I got that phone call. I don't know what I would've done if I were in her situation. I can't even imagine. It kills me seeing her like this. And she was saying earlier stuff like 'Why me? Why does this always happen to me?' And I ran to the bathroom and I just lost it. She doesn't deserve any of this. They better catch that fucker soon or I swear-' I started tearing up. I continue,

'If this happens again...I don't know what I would do.'

'Hey, hey it's okay. It's not going to happen again, okay? I know you have been so strong today and I'm so proud of you. You have been there for her through it all. You're an amazing friend. So if you want to let it out, I'm here for that.' As he rubbed my back as everything that I was holding finally caught up to me. We sat on the couch for a few minutes.

'Let's go to bed...I'm exhausted' As I swiped my tears.

'I love you, you know that?'

'I love you too babe. Thank you.'

I said as I stood up and offered him my hand and we walked into my room.
