Still There For Me

"Daddy!" Kylie yelled as she slid down the hill on a toboggan with Sid holding onto her.
"Hold on princess," he laughed. We have been out this for at least half an hour and she's been loving every minute of it. This is her first year where she can actually go down the hill. Unlike Ty who just gets pulled in a baby sled on flat ground.

"Watch out mommy!" she yelled as they reached the bottom.

"Whoa! That looked like so much fun Kylie!" I replied, helping her off the ground. Her snow
suit was so big she could barely move.

"It was! Ty should go too."

"He's too little sweetie. One year he will."

"Are we going to nanny's?" she asked Sidney.

"Yup. We're going over for dinner."

"For Christmas!?"

"No not yet. Just for a nice dinner. Do you want to pack them up and take them to your parents?"

"Everything is already in the car and ready to go."

"Okay sounds good to me."

Sure enough we went to my parents house and got everyone settled. We made it just in time for dinner. A hot pasta dish was already on the table when we walked in, and Troy and Trina were there too. Kylie was thrilled to see both sets of grandparents and couldn't wait to play with them. Right after dinner Sid remembered that we needed more diapers when looking in the diaper bag.

"Are you sure there isn't more? I swear I put more than enough in there."

"We need more. Do you know where they are in the house?"

"Yeah, don't you?"

"No, you just got more yesterday. Come with me?"

"Fine, do you guys mind watching the kids?" I asked.

"Of course not! I love seeing my grandbabies."

"Let's go Cindy," I winked, putting on my coat.

We drove to the house and I got the diapers and ran back out. I thought we were driving back but Sidney took a wrong turn and ended up going along the coast on a beautiful pathway full of twinkly lights with snow gently falling down.

"What are you doing?"

"Come on, I wanna take a walk first."

"If you say so," I giggled getting out of the car. The further we walked, the more beautiful it got. It was a nicely lit area and it was one of my favourite things to do at any time of the year. "I have to admit, this really is beautiful."

"It is. Is this idea worth it?" he asked, grabbing tighter on my hand.

"It really is."

"Do you remember when we came here before I left to move to Pittsburgh, and you told me that spiel about how this is the start of the beginning?" I nodded. "Well, I'd like to say that you're right. This is another start of the beginning. We have 2 beautiful children, who are the best kids in the whole world, we are finally a couple, living together both here and in Pittsburgh. You've changed my life for the better and you've really made me a better man. I like who you've changed me into. You've made me grow in so many ways and you play the biggest role in my life."

I stopped and looked him in the eyes to truly hear what he's saying. I don't know where this is coming from.

"I seriously can't get over how much you do for me. Just you standing here with me makes me realize how much you care. You're selfless and always doing things for others, and you always give everything your all. I don't know how you do it and how you put up with me. I love you so much."

"I love you so much too," I hugged him, giving him a kiss on the lips.

"Remember on our way home from Jordan and Heather's wedding, and I promised you something?" I gave him a little bit of a look. It was then when he dropped down to his knee, looked up at me and smiled. "I promised me that one day I'll make you my wife. And I would love to ask you if you would like to spend the rest of your life being my wife. Ashley, will you marry me?"

My heart is pounding, my hands are shaking, my knees are weak, the cold breeze on my face making me shiver. Is this really happening right now? Oh my God, he's asking me to marry him! "Yes!" I squealed, out of nowhere. At this point I was jumping up and down, freaking out like crazy. A huge smile grew on his face, warming me from head to toe. He stood up and kissed me passionately. This is the moment for I've been waiting for for years.

"I'm so glad you said yes," he whispered kissing me again.

"I don't want my life to go any other way,"I kissed him back. He pulled the ring out of the box and slid it on my finger. It is a gorgeous silver box cut ring with a huge rock. It was a simple band and nothing extravagant. It's simple, just like I like it to be."You really pulled this one off."

"I knew you couldn't resist going for a walk here. It's your favourite place to go to."

"You got that right," I replied, starting to truly cry. Before I was just teary eyed.

"Let's go tell the family."

**At The House**
Sidney had barely parked and my seatbelt was off and was about to book it. We opened the door, I kicked off my boots and threw off my jacket, yanked Sidney's arm and booked it to the living room where they were playing.

"I'm engaged!" I screamed, shocking them all. My moms eyes welted up, mine did, Trina's did, and we screamed and hugged each other. My dad was happy and gave me a very big hug and kiss on the forehead. Kylie looked so confused so I picked her up and told her, "mommy and daddy are getting married."

"Yay!" she clapped her hands.

**Sidney's POV**
Watching everyone celebrate really made me happy, and seeing Kylie's reaction to Ashley telling her warmed my heart. I'm so happy that I did this and finally can make her mine officially. My dad walked up to me after everyone else congratulated me.

"I did what you told me to do," I told him.

"Good," he responded. "Congratulations."

At least that's one part of my stress gone.
