Still There For Me

Throughout the next few weeks all I could do was look down at my hand and see the gorgeous diamond Sidney put on my finger. After all these years I finally got what I wanted. I was going to marry Sidney Crosby. I could tell Sidney was happy that he did it too, he always caught me looking at it. He would just laugh and tease me about it with the biggest grin on his face.

Christmas was a beautiful day and we spent Christmas dinner with Sidney's family and his moms side, boxing day was with my mom's side and the next 2 days after that we celebrated with our dad's sides. Our families are both so huge that we can't just fit them together. Our grandparents were more than thrilled to hear about our news when we announced it. Sidney's one grandma burst into tears with joy. I'm glad they wanted it just as much as me.

It's New Years Day and we are recovering from a crazy night out. Well not really crazy, we just went to Sidney's friend Andrew's for a small party and left the kids with our parents who have always just had a small get together at their house with both families and eat Chinese food. They offered after all. I was on the floor with Ty who was finally standing for the most part when Sidney got an unusual call.

"Where's daddy going?" Kylie asked who was colouring.

"I don't know," I replied, becoming extremely curious of who it was. He just jumped up and it scared the crap out of me how quickly he got up.

A couple minutes later he was standing in the doorway of the living room. I looked over at him and all he said was, "the seasons on."

"Oh my God that's great!" I yelled, jumping into his arms. This has been the moment we've all been waiting for for what seems like years and I feel like now that it's back I can relax.

"When does it start?"

"1 week. So we leave tonight."

"Tonight!?" I asked, panicking.

"Yeah, I have practice and press conferences. Management's already booked our flight. We leave at 11 tonight and then we'll get to go to our house straight from there. Then the next day I gotta be up at 6 for a work-out at 7 then we have practice at 9. And then I have even more training."

"That's a lot for such a short time. When is your first game?"

"The 7th. I'm used to this stuff I guess. Will you be fine taking care of the kids while I go get some sleep?"

"Of course. Kylie say good night to daddy, he's taking a nap before we go home."

"We are home," she said walking over to him and giggling while she got picked up.

"We're going to Pittsburgh," Sidney replied kissing her forehead. "Daddy's going to play hockey soon. Are you gonna come watch our games with mommy and Ty?" She nodded quickly and gave him a kiss. He walked over and gave Ty a kiss and asked me, "call our parents and let them know then ask if someone can drop us off tonight?"

"I'll be on it. I'm just gonna put them to bed in a little bit so I can start packing everything."

"Thanks for being so understanding, I love you," he kissed me.

"I love you too. Night daddy," I cooed with Ty.

Once the kids went to bed I was in beast mode. I packed up the kids items first since theirs was the most important then I worked on the dogs and our stuff. Sidney didn't bring that much so I left his for last, and worked on all my stuff first. Of course I had to bring most of my winter clothes here so now I have to lug it all back. Sidney was passed out in bed with his phone going off next to him. He didn't even budge.

Our parents were thrilled at the news but saddened at the same time. His parents will fly down for the first game but that's about it for now. The news hasn't even broke yet that we're engaged so hopefully that doesn't get announced too early.

When I was finished packing for the most part I sat on the bed and tried to get some rest. There was no way I was going to get any sleep tonight. I could feel Sid snuggle into me once I layed down. I love when he gets cuddly like this. It's so frigging cute. We have to be out of here in just over an hour unfortunately. Coming to that realization made me let out a huge sigh.

"Stressful isn't it?" he asked.

"Yeah, but it's our life, and I wouldn't change it for the world."

"I really do love you," he played with my hair, staring straight in my eyes.

"I really love you too."

**Later That Night**
We would be flying in a blizzard. The kids have been passed out which is great and the dogs have been pretty calm, but I have not been one bit. It's late and we haven't been able to land so we've been circling for an hour. Thank God everything got better once we landed and made it home. I had a bit of trouble with the kids but that just happens. Luckily I know they'll sleep in a bit tomorrow.

**Game Day**
The kids are all done up for the season opener and are ready to go. I have Kylie in her home Crosby jersey, and Ty in his. I also have Ty in a "My First Pens Game" onesie underneath which is too adorable. Of course I sent it to everyone I could beforehand. I was in my jersey too and had my hair in loose curls with light jeans and boots. I also had my ring on display but I'm not sure anyone will think anything of it. We're just gonna wait to announce our engagement officially to the team at the teams welcome back dinner.

When we got to the arena we took our seats in the box and got ready to see Sid. When the lights went off Kylie got excited and when she saw Sid skate onto the ice she squealed like crazy. We've barely seen Sidney for the past week and we have all missed him. He's been out training for most of the days and he hasn't been home for when the kids are awake. Seeing her reaction was priceless.

The announcers were having their typical game day talks and of course the camera went on us.

"So nice to see the players back, and their families all here to support them as well. We're looking at the Crosby family, Sidney's girlfriend Ashley, and his daughter Kylie and their new edition, their son Ty who was born a couple of months ago."

"Such a gorgeous family. Always here to watch their games, and always into it. Also here in the building tonight is Sid's parents," the announcer said as the camera went to a shot of them walking in the hallway to our box.

Kylie had no idea and just started yelling "pa!" It was absolutely adorable. She would also yell out "Daddy!" whenever he was on the ice. And if she wasn't sure she would ask where he was and I'd have to point him out. She even knows his number now and just yells it out. It's so touching how into it she gets.

The Pens won and we just had to go celebrate. We walked down to the area where we could see them. I help Kylie's hand and she just doddled next to me, saying hi to absolutely everyone. She's quite the social butterfly. When we found Sidney he saw her and yelled out to her. She got so excited and ran for him. He was still in his spandex and looked sexy as hell.

"Hi princess, did you have fun?"

"I did! We won!" she yelled, hugging him. You couldn't get that smile off his face in this moment. He was playing hockey again, he won, his daughter is congratulating him, his family is here. This is his element. I haven't seen him this happy since Ty was born.

"I know we did. Hi guys," he said, taking Ty and giving me a kiss and Kylie. Troy and Trina were still a ways back and were trying to get pictures to surprise Sidney with later.

"You played a great game Sid," I smiled, running my fingers through his hair.

"Thanks Ash. You wanna come say hi to some of the boys? They wanted to meet Ty."

"Yeah, let's go. Come on Kylie."

Being reunited with a few of the boys was a blast, it's like nothing has changed with them. Our time did get cut short but at the same time I think the kids were ready for bed, it's way past their bed time but this was an exception. Troy and Trina got settled in the guest room and the kids were passed out. Now it's time for me to.

"Did they have fun at the game?" he asked.

"Oh yeah. Kylie flipped when you came out and kept asking where you were so she could cheer. It was adorable."

"I'm so glad. I wish I could have seen it."

"Don't worry, I'll film it next time," I smiled, crawling into bed. "And nobody noticed the ring so we're good."

"Perfect. We'll announce it soon, I promise," he said walking into the bathroom.

His phone buzzed again so I peeked over to see who it was from, thinking it was someone commenting on the game. To my surprise it wasn't. It was Alexia. The message said, "great game, need a massage? ;)". Pardon?
