Either You Do...Or You Don't

James’ POV:

It was close to 1130 when I buzzed on Melanie’s door bell. Why I was there…I didn’t know. Whether I was looking for her or Allison, I wasn’t sure. Whether I wanted her or Allison…that I didn’t know either. I sighed as I buzzed the bell again.

“Hello?” Melanie’s voice rang over the speaker

“Hi…”

“Hey. Come on up.” she replied. I opened the main door and headed up to her apartment. I knocked steadily on the door, waiting for her to answer. “Hey.” she said, opening the door just a bit

“Can I come in…or do I have to stand out in the hallway?” I asked

Melanie laughed, “Hang on a moment, James.” she closed the door and after a moment she answered.

“Hell…o…” I stopped, starring at her. She was wearing a red silk bathrobe that was open enough so I could see her lingerie. A black and red, lace trimmed bra with matching panties. “Are you expecting someone…”

“Yes.” she replied, biting her lip

“Oh…well then I should really get going I just came by to see…” I started

“I was expecting you.” she interrupted. “I figured you’d come by…looking for me…or for her. So I guessed it’d probably be for her and I figured I’d change your mind.”

“Uh…what?”

Melanie sighed, “Isn’t it obvious, James? I like you…I always have…I’ve wanted you ever since you came over to get Allison for the first time…I’ve wanted you to realize she isn’t good for you…I’ve wanted you to want me…”

I didn’t know what to say to her…she was right…I did ‘want’ her, but I wasn’t sure if my feelings for her were just lust…or if I actually liked her…I mean fuck…she was sexy…a near 10. She was amazing in bed…but Allison…Allison was funny and gorgeous and she made me want to change from ‘bad boy’ to ‘family man’…”Melanie…” I started, but before I could finish my sentence, Melanie kissed me…and I kissed her back.

Allison’s POV:

I sobbed quietly, curling up on Geno’s bed. He let me stay over after everything that had happened the day…I said I’d stay in a guest room, but he wouldn’t have it. He got me settled into his room and was going to stay in the nearby guest room. “Ally, you need anything?” he asked, peeking into the room

“No…” I cried, wiping a tear from my cheek

“You sure?” he persisted

“I’m fine…thanks, Geno.”

“Allison…” he started

“Yeah?”

“I’m so sorry…”

“Thanks, Geno…for everything…”

“Do you want me to call Mel…or Lazy?”

“No…I don’t want to talk to either of them…” I sniffed

“…why?” he asked

I forgot that he probably didn’t know…I sat up on the bed and motioned for him to come in. “Melanie and James have been having sex behind all of our backs…since I left for Philly…they claim they only did it while James and I were apart, but I don’t believe it…”

His eyes widened, “Really?”

I nodded, “Melanie told me and then James confirmed it…I’m surprised you didn’t hear…I’m sure James told Paul…”

“Lazy doesn’t talk to me about you…probably because…of us.”

I nodded, “Yeah…the worst part is…they both act like they didn’t do anything wrong…like hurting me was nothing…all James could even say was that I had cheated on him…that…that I was pregnant with someone else’s child…” I started crying…unable to stop.

Geno wrapped his arms around me, pulling me close. I sobbed into his shoulder. “Lazy can be jerk…but you know how he get when angry…he say what he doesn’t mean.” I didn’t say anything back…I knew he was right, but in all honesty…I was getting fed up with James Neal and his attitude.
