Gongshow

Audrey sat on the boards of the home bench, scrolling through her phone. She was waiting for everyone else to show up. She heard the doors open and glanced over. Sam was walking down the hall with his eyes on his phone. He had a suit on. Dustin had told all the guys to dress up for their championship game.

Sam came over to where she was sitting. He pretended to push her back. She smacked his shoulder while he laughed. He wrapped his arms around her waist, standing between her legs. She held his face.

"Are you nervous?" She asked, brushing his hair from his face.

"I'm never nervous when you're around." He smiled. His looked into the distance and laughed. "Bennett's here with Kaylynn."

"Sam's here with Kay?" She exclaimed, turning around. "That isn't Kaylynn."

"Looks a lot like her." He scoffed.

"That's so weird." She frowned. "Scary weird."

Sam shrugged. "As long as he's happy." He mocked, kissing her. "But I'm going to get changed now so I'll see you in a bit."

They kissed again. Sam tilted her back, hovering above the ice. She wrapped her arms around his neck tight. He smiled into their kiss as he brought her back up. She pretended to strangle him as he pulled back.

"You'd be dead if I would've fallen." She hissed.

"I wouldn't let you fall." He rolled his eyes, pecking her lips before he walked off.

"Sammy," She called, hopping down and chasing after him.

"What now?" He growled as he turned around.

She rolled her eyes. "Good luck, okay?" She hugged him. "Play your heart out."

"You sound like your dad." He teased, hugging her and kissing the top of her head

"Don't worry about Brendan, alright?" She asked, looking up at him

"Why would I worry about my girlfriend's ex boyfriend that frequently texts her and sends her nudes?" He mocked.

She sighed. "Sam, please. Just don't bother with him."

"I won't start anything with him. I promise." He swore before kissing her.

"Okay, go change now." She said, spinning him around and smacking his butt as he walked off.

The stands were filled. This game had a lot of build up. Kaylynn and Candice felt out of place. Both had loved ones on the home team, but felt wrong cheering against their school. They sat in the middle and figured they'd cheer for everything.

The referees were strict. They only allowed Audrey to sit in the box. She would do the score sheet, the score board, and the doors by herself. She could handle it. Dani, Taylor, and Holiday were pissed. They hadn't sat in the crowd for a single game that season

Audrey could handle all her responsibility, but she couldn't handle her ex boyfriend sending daggers at her current boyfriend. She sighed, walking into the visitor's penalty box. She opened the door.

"Brendan!" She called. He spun around before he skated over. "Can you give it up with the dirty looks you're sending at Sam? It's old."

"Woah, someone's worried about her little boyfriend." Brendan chuckled.

"I just know he won't instigate the way you will." She crossed her arms.

"I won't do anything unless he does." He grinned.

"God, fuck you." She shook her head, slamming shut the door.

She sat back in her little box. She started fiercely typing to the girls about her hatred for Brendan. She couldn't believe him. She hadn't asked for much. She just didn't want Sam getting into a fight. She didn't care about Brendan. She was pulled from her thoughts by a tap on the glass. She looked up and saw Sam. He lowered his mouth to the hole in the glass.

"What was that about?" He asked.

She shook her head. "Don't worry about it."

"Are you okay?" He frowned.

She smiled with a nod. "Go win this game for me."

"Anything for you." He winked before he skated off.

The teams went off, the ice was resurfaced, and then they were back. Audrey set the clock. Three twenty minute periods. Just like always. The anthem played then it was time for the opening face off. Mark won and the game began.
