Peekaboo

A few hours later, the group was still journeying along the Grasslands, getting closer to a mountain range step by step. The morning sun was out now and the clouds and mist were fading away, bringing in a warm, happy vibe. The grassy fields were greener and the sky was bright blue. But the mountains ahead contrasted with the wonderful setting Patrick's group was trekking in.

The mountains were dark and their tips were sharp and their sides were jagged. They loomed over the blithesome scenery in a portentous way. Dark, gray clouds hovered over them, pierced through the middle by the tips of the mountains. The sky was littered by the same coloured clouds, blocking out the sun from the the scenery over there.

"Are we going over there...?" Andrew asked with an anxious look, eyeing the mountains.

"Yup. And over those mountains, across the body of water, and on an island is where Lord Nemo resides," Ariel answered the dog.

"Wow... We got a long way to go..." Brandon's voice faded.

"Well, it's not gonna be that easy to get to a villain’s place! He surely doesn't want his lair to be invaded!" Sharp commented.

"But where is Nemo's castle at in those mountains?" Patrick questioned the princess.

"His castle isn't in the mountains, it’s on the island beyond those mountains." She pointed towards the mountain change perpendicular to them. "He has it there so that trespassers will have a hard time getting to his castle, like what Patrick said."

"Yup!" Sharp winked.

"But how does he get out from his castle?" Reilly asked. "I mean, he does need to get food, right?"

"He rarely gets out from his castle that I know of... But if he ever needs to leave his castle, he rides his dragon."

"Right...he's got a pet dragon." Sharp wagged his pointer finger in the air. "Gotta keep that in mind."

"But how are we gonna get through those mountains to get to his castle?" Jamie questioned. "And then we have to cross water! Oh my, we're gonna be here for ages!"

Ariel sighed. "We'll find a way... If we really want to get Jonathan back and defeat Lord Nemo, we will find a way no matter what."

"And we have to take this little by little," Patrick added in. "First, we have to deal with the mountains--"

"Anyone got...mountain climbing equipment?" Andrew asked.

Ariel and Brad looked at the dog oddly.

"You're looking at me as if you have no idea what mountain climbing equipment is," the dog told the princess and honey badger.

"Because what you just assumed is true," Brad told him from standing on Adam's back.

"Well, it's the only way to climb a mountain safely, that's for sure."

"I don't think it's necessary to climb mountains, though." Torey said. "Maybe we can go between them... There should be a gap between the mountains, right?"

"I'm not sure that there's a gap between the mountains..." Ariel shifted her gaze They seem very tightly packed together..."

"And if there was, it would be in the form of a river, right?" Brad mentioned.

"Yes, since water is powerful enough to go between mountains..." Ariel agreed.

"Does anyone have rafting equipment?" Andrew asked.

"Stop it with your fictional equipment!" Brad snapped.

The dog sighed and muttered under his breath, "I take it they have no hiking equipment here..."

"If there's a river that leads through the mountains, then for sure it'll lead us straight to the water!" Patrick's eyes lit up. "You guys, we gotta find a river!"

"River!" Reilly shouted. "Let's go find a river!" He jumped down from Torey's arms, since he was being carried by him. "Yea!" He started running ahead of the group.

"Wait! Reilly, come back!" Torey shouted at him.

"I'll keep an eye on him." Andrew ran after the bear.

"Oh yes, very comforting for a dog to tell me that he'll look after Reilly," Torey muttered.

"Hey, that's Shawzy you're talking about," Sharp shot at the Bruin.

"Worse! He's a pest!"

Sharp just groaned.

"I'm comin' with ya!" Jamie rushed up to the bear and the dog.

Brad now wanted to join the talking animals in search of a river. He looked down at Adam, who was trotting with his sweet time. "Hey, go over to Shaw and Reilly and Jamie! I wanna join their search."

"I don't feel like speeding up... I like walking like this." Adam continued with his slow trot.

"Oh come on, you got to speed up once in a while!"

"Nope..." The horse thought for a moment. "Well, maybe in one circumstance."

"What?"

"I'll take you to search, if only I get to sing."

"Sing? How good do you sing?"

"Oh, you'll see!" Adam put on his turbo and began galloping down the fields. And he begun to sing: "Let's go find a river! Let's go find a river! Let's find a river in the mountains!"

"Oh no..." Brad placed his paws on his eyes.

"Let's go find a river! Let's go find a river! Let's go find a river hi-dee-ho-dee!"

"No, please stop!" Brad whined.

Adam stopped moving, but continued singing: "Don't stop 'til you find one! Don't stop 'til you find one! Don't stop 'til you found a river!"

"I didn't mean 'stop moving'! I meant 'stop singing'!"

"Ooo, I like that song!" Reilly chimed. He added on to it. "Don't stop 'til you found one! Don't stop 'til you found one! Don't stop 'til you found a river, hi-dee-ho-dee!"

Andrew just howled to the tune while Jamie, Reilly, and Adam continued singing.

"Oh great, now I got an orchestra of animals singing about rivers!" Brad groaned. "I am an animal myself, though... But I will not sing!"

"C'mon, Brad, join our song!" Jamie exclaimed, poking his head near the badger.

"No, no thanks."

"Aw, but why?"

"Because...uh, I don't know the lyrics!"

"Well, we'll teach you!" C'mon!" And Jamie trotted away, singing and searching...

Just like what the rest of the animals were doing...

Searching for a river until the found one.
