My new life

James P.O.V

Annie and I were just watching a movie and my phone was ringing. It's Sid.

"Hey Sid, how did Rebecca do?"

"Well, I have some bad news to tell you." Sid told me that Rebecca tore her ACL and MCL, can't stake for the next 9-10 months.

"Wow, how's she doing right now?"

"Well she didn't like it that I had to leave, but I did promise that I will be there after surgery."

"Ok, well I will see you soon." Once I got off the phone I told Annie about what happen. Annie was total shock when I told her that.

"Wow that sucks for her. We need to do something before she comes home."

"What do we need to do?"

"She can walk with a torn ACL, I have seen Geno doing that. There's nothing to worry about. But when she comes home, I bet she just wants to be in her room and watch T.V. I know my sister when she hurts her self or sick. So come here and you can help me for tomorrow game." I pick her up and we both headed to the bedroom.

Sid P.O.V

After landing back in Pittsburgh, I just wanted to sleep. Once I got into my car all I could think was that moment when everything that Rebecca was working out was gone within seconds. Was it my fault that I had come and see her? I rapidly keep hitting the sterling wheel and my hands until they were in pain. Then I couldn't hold it anymore, I started to cry. Just seeing Rebecca in the hotel room all by herself in pain. No one there to help her. I couldn't stop crying. I bet if Rebecca was in here she would told me to stop crying and it's not your fault. Now suck it up take me home and go home to sleep. You need to rest for game tomorrow. Once I stop crying, turn on the car and heading home. I think I have only a good 5 hour of sleep, good thing that I will have my pre-game nap. I have everything that I needed and I was thinking of when I should go over to see how James is doing at this point. I will go over to his house in the morning. In the morning I drove over to James house and I see him pushing Rebecca up to the house in a wheel chair. I ran up to them once I park my car.

"Sid, what are you doing here? You need some rest for today's game. How did you know that I came back?" Rebecca told me.

"I didn't, I was thinking of how James is doing from this whole situation." I help James get Rebecca in the house. Annie was there to get her room ready for her.

"It's good to be back in my bed. We are going to be best friends for a long time. It's to bad that I can't go to the game tonight." She told the bed.

"We can watch the game on T.V." Annie told her. I think she's had something for the ride because this doesn't sound like her.

"But I want to see Sid in action." Rebecca smiled.

"Did you know that I told him that I love him while I was sleeping." I look at James and he was thinking of the same thing.

"It's the drugs they given her." James informed me.

"I mean it, then he told me that he love me back. I'm tired." She get all comfy in her bed and falls asleep.

"Come on you two, you need to get ready for the game and let her sleep. She needs it more than you." Annie push James and I out of her room.

"Don't worry about what she said it's the drugs that's making her talk like that. That happens to her a lot."

Two Weeks later

We have betten Ottawa. The had our first lost in Philly, beat Nashville, Vancouver, Rangers and Ottawa. Now today I am in the waiting room with James, Annie and Coach Dallas waiting for Rebecca's knee to be fix. This was going to be a two hour surgery. Once she was out I was beside her and hoping that she was alright. When her eyes open, she had a huge smile on her face.

"Hey." She said softly.

"See I told you that I would be here with everything was finish."

"Sid." I look up and I see Annie moving her hand telling me to come over to her.

"Yeah."

"I need to talk to you outside for a quick second. It won't take that long." I walk back to Rebecca to tell her I will be right back. Annie and I walk to the end of the hallway.

"Ok, I don't know how I am going to tell this to Rebecca that I have been dating James for two years. We starting to date when I was in Dallas and when he was traded. I knew that Rebecca was moving here. I had to so I could be there for both of them."

"Well at this point she's not going to remember what your going to tell her with the drugs she's on."

"There's another thing that Rebecca hasn't told you, James knows he just doesn't want to talk about it. You play the Capitals on Wednesday right?"

"Yeah. Don't tell me that she dated Ovie?"

"No." She started to laugh."Um, she thinks that he's the cave man of the group. Well she was staying in Washington D.C about a year ago,but she was dating Mike Green before she move to Pittsburgh. She told me that Mike was the one for her. Then all of a sudden, everything just went away. She won't see him during her brakes, so won't Mike. They had a strange and strong bond but don't know why she ended. There still friends from the whole thing. So I just wanted to let you know. This might be a good time to ask her about Mike since she's on a lot of drugs." Wow, I though that will never come through my life. That I am Mike's sloppy seconds.

"Thanks Annie." When everyone left it was just Rebecca and I.

"So we are playing the Capitals on Wednesday."

"That's cool, I know someone on that team. He's an awesome guy."

"Is that Ovie?" She started to laugh.

"No, he's weird and ugly. His name is Mike Green, such an awesome guy. Do you know Mike Green?" Man she's really drug up. Then she tap me on my hand.

"Annie did I tell you that use to date Mike, don't tell Sid. I haven't told him that yet." So Annie was right. She's has so much drugs in her body that she's thinks that she's talking to Annie than me. But I would like to know abut this ex Mike Green.

"How did you two met?"

"At a ice charity. We had a good time that night. We dated after the charity he ask me out. At the parking lot, just came up to me and just ask. That's brave for a guy to do that. Then we started to date for a year."

"Then what? You never told me why you two broke it up."

"Will you promise me not to say anything to Sid. If he heard this then he would be mad that I haven't told him anything about between Mike and I."

"Not a word."

"I just move in with Mike. His place is right next to a great park, the weather was cold, crisp and that's the weather I love. So Mike wanted to go for a walk. Then all of a sudden he got down on one knee and ask me to marry him. We were only dating for six months. I was so inlove with him and I though he was the one for me. After I said yes, I forgot to tell James. I wanted to but I don't know if he wanted me to date any hockey players. After of thinking about it, I did call James and he was pissed about it. He said that he would never speak to me or come to the wedding. Even thou I ask him if he could walk me down the aisle. He still said no. For a week I couldn't stop crying. A month being engaged I was getting nightmares. I stop going to his games and I lied of where I was going. Then one day he follow me when I told him that I was getting a spa day. I went to a therapist to find out why I am getting these weird nightmares. When he caught me, he was thinking that I was going to make us an appointed for a couples therapy. Which to tell you the truth I should of but I was only thinking of me at that time. I have the problem, not us. He didn't like it that I lied to him, so I told him the truth. I didn't want to get married or be engaged because of all these nightmares I have seeing. That was a year ago and we are still great friends. I think he just text me to get well, I bet that he's going to see me before the game. Did you know that Mike and I already pick kids names. Do you want to know?"

"Sure."

"Well if we had a girl we would name her Kaley Annie and if we had a boy it would be Andre Nicholas. At the end of it all it was my fault."

"Do you still love him?" There a knock on the door. When I look to see who it was, Rebecca already bet me to the punch.

"Mike! Your here."

Yep it was Mike Green and he brought flowers. He came over and handed her the flowers.

"Thanks Mike. So you did get my text."

"Yeah I did, well I heard from Annie. Hi Sid."

"Hey Mike."

"Oh, Sid's my boyfriend. Sid have you seen Annie, I just saw her a couple of minutes ago."

"She left before Mike came in."

"Oh, ok. So how are you Mike?"

"I'm good we just landed the plane a couple of hours ago. Coach knew that I was coming. He does miss you, but how long do you have to wait until you have to get on the stakes.

"9 - 10 months, remember if she told you that she torn her ACL and MCL." I cut in.

"Sid, be nice. You will get at each other tomorrow." There was a knock on the door. It was the nurse.

"Vistor's time is up and she needs all the sleep she needs." I went over to Rebecca and gave her a kiss on the temple. Mike gave her a hug and we walk out.

"So did Rebecca told you what happen between us?" Mike ask.

"Yeah."

"She's a great person, if you do anything that would mess it up. You better keep your eyes open." Mike told me and walk away from me.

Rebecca P.O.V

Once I woke up I see that Annie was here.

"Good morning or I should say good afternoon. How are you feeling?"

"Good, was I weird last night, because I felt like everything was a dream?"

"Well you were on so much pain killers that you look like you were drunk. Mike showed up last night."

"I remember that, it's just I think I just told Sid about Mike and I." I cover my face with my hands.

"YEAH, you did. You even told Sid the names of the kids that you were going to have." Oh my god. I can't believe that the pain killers would open the dark part of my life with the new light in my life.

"Now I feel like an idiot." She started to laugh.

"How did he take it?"

"He took it fine. So are you ready to go to the game?"

"What are you talking about?"

"You can leave, I do have club box seats. What you don't want to see you bf and ex play?"

"Do you have clothes for me?" She grab a bag and let me change. I sign the papers and headed to the Concal Engery Center. Once we got to our seats, the game started. After the Penguins beat the Capitals 3-2. We went down to the locker room to met everyone. I walk pass the away locker room.

"Rebecca?" I though it was Mike but I was Brooks Laich and he gave me a hug.

"I heard about your knee, dude that sucks." Then I see Mike behind Brooks. He came over to and gave me a hug.

"Glad you come to the game. I see that you have a knee brace on it now."

"Sorry about the game, it was good. It's always good between you and the Pens."

"You mean Ovie and your boyfriend."

"Wait you and Crosby are dating now?" Brooks asks.

"Yeah we have been dating for about three months now." Once we finish talking to them we walk over to the home locker room and good thing that the press was quick and everyone was dress in the suites. I walk over to Sid, tap him on the shoulder. He spun around and had a hug smile on his face. He pick me up and spun me around. I put my forehead on his neck.

"I so happy that you went to the game. I was thinking about you the whole game."

"About me or about Mike and I? I feel like an idiot now tell you but since you guys with the Capital it's kinda of a big deal."

"At least you told me the truth or that you were so drug up from the pain killers you though I was Annie." We started to laugh.

"Come on you need to get home and sleep. You haven't been home for two days." He grab my hand and went back to my place. He could only do was to drop me off because they had to leave for Columbus, New York, Chicago then at Toronto. I won't be able to see Sid or James for a week.
