Chapter 7
Sid's P.O.V
After we finally got the win from Ottawa from a shoot-out. In the morning I headed over to see Rebecca and Annie answer the door.
"Hey Sid." She let me in.
"James still sleeping."
"I was hoping if I could talk to Rebecca."
"Well the thing is I have no clue where Rebecca at. She didn't left a note for James or I telling me where she at. I know that her favorite clothes are gone. That means she went on a trip."
"Have you look on her computer?"
"Can't she locks her computer, she's changes her password every month."
"Have you look my find my friend app?" Annie look on her iphone, I was trying to unlock her computer. Her password was sid87. When I look up her history page I was confused about it.
"It look like she was looking up flight for Pittsburgh to Washington D.C."
"Well she has to be there because phone is telling me that she's in D.C."
"I bet she's there to hang out with Mike." My heart stop when she said Mike's name. It was my fault to bring it up. I cover my hand on my face.
"This is my fault, if I didn't say that to her she wouldn't be in D.C with her ex or friend. Whatever they are."
"What are you going to do?"
"Call her. Ask her why she's doing there. She won't talk to me." Annie was calling her and put her phone on speaker.
"Hey Annie."
"Hey Rebecca, I wanted to see if you wanted to go have breakfast at that small place we went a couple of months ago."
"Oh, I can't I forgot to tell you that I'm in D.C."
"When did this happen?"
"After you left I got a phone call and they wanted me to come to this charity thing."
"Are you having breakfast with Mike?" It was quiet on the line.
"Rebecca are you there?"
"Yeah I'm here and yes I'm having breakfast with Mike. He's letting me crash for a couple of days."
"Your not there for a charity thing aren't you?"
"No, I just need some time and space."
"Because of what Sid said?"
"Yeah, Mike knows me and I think he would tell me what I should do."
"You couldn't do that over the phone?"
"No, I needed a break from Pittsburgh and Sid." I couldn't handle listening to this, so the best thing I should is leave. I grab Annie phone and end the call.
"Sid, what are you doing?"
"I'm going to D.C and you need to tell me where Mike lives."
"No you don't, if you go down to D.C everything will be a total mess than it is." I look at my phone to see when the Capitals are playing.
"Fine I'm going but you don't have to tell me where he lives. They play tomorrow vs Carolina."
"Sid!"
Rebecca P.O.V
"Annie are you there?" I look at my phone and I see it said call end. I was in the kitchen making something for breakfast. Mike came out of his room and wrap his arms around me.
"Remember I am still with Sid."
"Are you sure from what I heard on the phone your not. You almost lied to Annie why you are here in the first place."
"I just didn't wanted her to tell Sid where I am."
"Well I'm going to practice and so I will be back in couple of hours than."
"See you later than." He gave me a hug and leave his home key so if I need to go anywhere. I stay at his place, work on my knee and watch t.v. When Mike came back I was in the hot tub helping my knee.
"Look who's relax." Mike found me in the hot tub.
"It's helping my knee."
"I got you ticket for tomorrow's game."
"You do you play?"
"Carolina." When I got out of the hot tub.
"Your scar is really big."
"I know, when's the game starts?"
"The game starts in the afternoon."
After I got ready I went with Mike so then I won't take a taxi. When we got to the Verizon Center. I said hi to everyone and headed up the the suite. During the game I was having a good time, even Mike score a goal and the score is 2-1 against Carolina. During the second intermission I came back from the bathroom and there was Sid waiting for me. I turn around and try to walk away. I felt someone grabbing my wrist.
"Rebecca what are you doing here in D.C?" Sid ask. I walk back to the suite because no one wasn't there.
"I'm here for a charity, Mike found out that I was going to be here and so he got me a ticket to see him."
"I know that you lying. I was there when you were talking to Annie. If we just talk about the whole thing then we won't be here in DC. Coach is mad because I have to be in Detroit right now but I told him that I will be there soon."
"What's there to talk about? You said something that you shouldn't say and your getting mad at me because I wanted space."
"I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for what I said. I wanted to know if you wanted to come with me to Detroit tonight. We can talk more."
"No, I'm sorry I have plans. Sid I do forgive you I just can't break the plans I made." He nodded his head. I gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"I do love you I think that we just need space when we get into those situation."
"Ok, but not from a different state to get some space."
"The game's about to get out of second intermission, do you want to stay?" He grab my hand.
"Sure, beside the game's not till tomorrow night. I can leave after the game. During the game Sid and I were watching the game. He was still holding my hand. After the Capitals won the game 4-2, Sid walk me down to the locker rooms.
"See you tomorrow night." He gave me a kiss on the cheek. I went to have dinner with some of the team mates for the Capitals. Brooks Laich, Nicklas Backstrom,Matt Hendricks and Jason Chimera. We were having a great time, just hanging out and just talking.
"Rebecca I saw Sid by our locker room. Did you know that?" Nicky ask.
"Yeah Sid wanted to see why I am here in D.C in the first place."
"You didn't tell him why you were in D.C?" Brooks ask.
"It's a long story."
"Are you and Sid ok?" Mike ask.
"Yeah, I'm going to Detroit tomorrow to watch them." After the great meal, I was getting ready for bed. There was a knock on the door.
"Come on in." I knew that it was Mike.
"I just wanted to tell you that it was great for you to come and see me at the game."
"No problem."
"When do I have to drop you off at the airport?"
"You don't have to, I'll take a cab."
"Please."
"Fine." Mike sat on the bed. The face he was making, I knew that face.
"What are you thinking about?"
"Of how if you didn't have thous nightmares, do you think that we would be married at this time, right now?"
"I don't know." He got up and gave me a hug.
"See you tomorrow." He gave me a kiss on the head.
"My plane leaves at noon." He nodded.
While I was waiting for my plane to Detroit and I was looking for my headphones in my bag. There was a small box in my bag that I had no clue about. When I open it I was in total shock. It was my engagement ring that Mike gave me.

Man I was really late, the rain doesn't help at all. I heard there was going to be a lot of people at the charity. I was now running into the building not to get even wet from the rain. I saw someone coming into the building. He turn around, saw me and he hold the door for me.
"Thanks."
"No problem."
"I'm Rebecca Neal."
"I'm Mike Green."
Oh that day when I met him felt like it's the best day of my life. After the charity party was over. I head over to my car.
"Hey Rebecca!" I turn around and Mike was coming my way.
"So I was wondering if you wanted to go on a date with me tomorrow?" Wow I can't believe that this hot guy wanted to go on a date with me.
"Sure." He gave me number and I gave him mine. That was a fun date.
A couple of months of dating Mike and I went back to his hometown of Calgary. It was Mike's idea was to hop on a running train. To tell you the truth it was so much fun I have ever done. That was when he told me that he loved me. In that moment I knew that he was the one for me. He was everything for me. Since that night I couldn't stop looking, dreaming or thinking about him.
The day when I move in with him was the best thing I ever made. It was a nice cold, crisp afternoon. Mike wanted to go for a walk. On the walk we were just walking. Once we got to the lake everything was quiet.
"It's so beautiful out here."
"Rebecca." I turn around and I see that Mike was on one knee.
"I love you and no matter what happens to us. I will always be there for you. Will you marry me?"
"Yes I will."
Once I called James, he said that he didn't want to talk to me. I couldn't stop crying for awhile. Mike was there for me. He wanted to go and kick his ass for me.
After 3 week of being engaged I was having nightmares of how Mike was going to leave me. He was yelling at me that I he thinks that I was cheating on him. Or I would walk down the aisle and I would see Mike walking away with someone else. I would scream in my sleep. Wake Mike up at 3 in the morning. We tried everything and so I told him that I would sleep in the other room so he could get sleep for the games. When's his not home, I would stay up all night so I won't get any sleep. I don't know how I sleep without Mike. I went to doctors and spend the night. It does happen but no one didn't wake me up. My doctor told me that I need to see someone. I didn't tell Mike because I didn't want him to worry. When he found out but he tough it was something else. Then I told him the truth.
"I'm sorry Mike, I don't want to marry you if I get more nightmares."
"No, don't do this to me. I love you more than a person should have. I just don't want you to do this alone. Where you going to find a couple therapy for us? Should we get married now so you won't get any of these nightmares again?"
"No I didn't want you to go through this, this is my problem. No of this is your fault. I have to go, James is waiting for me in Pittsburgh." I put my ring on the counter and before I left he gave me a hug.
"I'm sorry."
I had everything pack and heading to Pittsburgh.

Ladies and gentleman welcome to Detroit or if you live here, welcome home. Once I headed to the team's hotel. I was calling Sid while I was in the taxi.
"Hey."
"Hey, when's the game?"
"6:20 Pm, we have to be at Joe Louis Arena at 4."
"Well I'm here, I think we have the time to talk and you know just hang out."
"I can't wait." Sid text me what room he was in. When he open the door and had a huge smile on his face.
"Come here you."
