AAOOOSC!: The Mission

Chapter 14

"How are we ever gonna get outta here, dude?" Patrick asks his teammate, leaning his neck towards Toews' head, since their backs are against each other.
"I have no idea," Toews answers in a monotoned voice, staring at the brick ceiling.
"I'd use my powers, man, but somehow, I feel this glowing rope thingie just suck up my powers before I'm able to use 'em, dude!"
"Good, that makes both of us not have powers. We can escape the normal way."
"Tazer man, with powers or not, we gotta escape! Any way is a good way to escape, dude!!!" Patrick begins bobbing up and down on his chair, trying to wiggle from the restraints. They just glow brighter, inserting painful energy into him. "Ah-ow!" He stays still. "I hate these things, man!"
They hear the door open and turn their heads to see who had entered.
It was Kari, of course.
"That is not a nice thing to say, Kanerboo, about my powers." He had a flat look with his arms crossed.
"Well it's true, dude!" Patrick snaps.
"True or not, I don't like to hear that!" Kari storms forward, looming over the blond winger. "And I heard that you and my hostage were coming up with plans to escape from my headquarters."
"It's not like they worked...," Patrick has a grave look.
"Still, I'm not taking the risk. You, pretty boy, are going somewhere else where you can't talk to your used-to-be friend." He grabs the top back of Patrick's chair and swings it around on one leg, so that its back is now facing the villain.
Kari tilts the chair back and begins dragging Patrick on thr chair backwards, across the room, to the door.
Before he fully exited the room with the blond Blackhawk, Kari looks behind his shoulder, seeing the captain of the Blackhawks, who has his head hung low with somberness. "Oh, and Tazer, I hope you like being alone." Then with a loud burst of evil laughter, he slams the door shut.
The door's shut echoes though the empty room, forcing Toews to feel the once again agonizing silence.
He sighs, looking around the room with huge, brown eyes. Millions and millions of questions are buzzing through his head. He begins to focus on trying to contain his feelings, because so far, he could break his Captain Serious reputation.
He takes in deep breaths, thinking of ways of how to escape. He tries to move around in his chair, but the glowing rope just zaps him back, threatening him to continue misbehaving.
Toews cranes his head towards the left and every time he did that, he saw the sun sinking lower and lower until it was twilight.
"There goes another day," he says under his breath, turning away from the dimming, barred window.
He stares at the ground with his head hung low, mediating in the deep silence--
WOOSH! ZZZZZAP! BLAM! WHA-BANG!!!
Toews gasps as he snaps his head up; his eyes are now full of shock and trepidation. "What was that sound, what was the sound--?" He looks behind his shoulder, seeing the bars that belong to the window now thrown onto the ground, smoking. "What the heck--?" He looks up, seeing the window now fully opened...with a silhouette on the other side.
"Who-who-- Who are you?" Toews stutters out.
"I'll tell you that later, Tazer boy," the silhouette answers in a friendly, deep, yet sophisticated voice. He floats gently into the room as Toews feels soft gusts of wind brushing by him. "But for now, we gotta vacate here."
Toews sees the silhouette sauntering up to him, stopping in front of him. He was able to see a little bit more of this mystery man, but the shadows were blocking his face. "Are you gonna get me outta here?"
"Indeed."
"How can you do that with this glowing rope?"
"You don't know who you're dealing with here, kid." Then the silhouette places his hands on the two glowing ropes on Toews's wrists and being emitting light yellow lightning into it.
Toews screams with fright, but then noticed that what is happening on top of his wrists wasn't hurting.
The glowing ropes being glowing more and more brighter until they exploded into tiny light particles, floating into the dark room and fading away; this also happened to the other ropes around Toews and the chair.
"How did you--?"
"No time, kid--" The silhouette grabs Toews shoulder and pulls him up. "--like what I said, let's get the heck outta here before--"
His sentence is cut by the door slamming open and two more silhouettes entering the room.
"Shtop righ' dere!" a familiar cowboy voice shouts from one of the silhouettes.
"Yea, 'cause you're under attack!" another familiar, bouncy-like voice adds in from the other silhouette.
Toews's helper slides in front of Toews. "Nice attempt, but maybe be physical next time!" He then levitates off the ground and begins brewing a mighty wind storm around him, causing the chair behind Toews fly around the room along with dust and whatnot with the him in the middle of all it; Toews throws himself onto the ground so that he wouldn't get caught in it. "Folks, prepare to eat dust!" And he blasts the wind at the two silhouettes who were already hanging onto dear life on each of the door jambs. They fly out of the room with their yelling fading as they went farther down.
The silhouette slams the door closed, locking it with the now dying wind; he lands on the ground. Toews gets up quickly with his eyes wide. "I have no idea--"
"Sh, sh, stop conversing! Follow me!" The silhouette grabs onto the Blackhawk's hand and leads him to the window; he lets go of his hand. "I'm gonna hoist you up to the window through the medium of my aerokinetic powers. You climb out of the window and abide for me. Subsequent to you accomplishing that, I'll follow you and we'll cut and run. Capiche?"
Toews makes a confused look. "What?"
"I don't approve that confounded look of your's. You're doin' it anyways, go!"
Toews immediately feels the ground disappear from the soles of his shoes and the window is getting closer to him. "Ohhhhh myyyyyy--"
"Grab onto the window, kid!" the silhouette shouts.
Toews hastily grabs onto the edge of the opening and naturally lifts himself into the opening, now inches from the sky.
"Get outta there!"
Toews looks down, looking at the silhouette. "You want me to come back down?"
The silhouette slaps his forehead with his hand and mumbles something in another language. He looks back up at the Blackhawk. "Go outside!"
"You want me to fall?"
Footsteps begin to approach from behind the door, warning the two escapees that they don't have much time.
"Just go...go out into the sky and you'll be fine...trust me!"
Toews looks out at the door as it beings to rattle and move around a bit. "You sure?"
"Why the heck would I be aiding you here, kid? Outward!"
Toews pulls away from the silhouette and stares at the ground outside that seem miles down below him. He then looks out into the sky and with a deep breath, sticks his foot out, pretending that there is a solid, visible ground below him. And to his surprise, it feels like as if he is standing on normal ground...except he is in mid-air, in the sky!
"Whoa!" Toews shifts his gaze around his surrounds, staring at the spectacle that is around him; he is standing in the middle of the sky!
"Let's go!" The silhouette, who is now with Toews in the sky, wraps his hands around his torso, like as if he was giving him a hug from behind and lifts him parallel onto the ground, placing him below him and flies off southward.
