AAOOOSC!: The Mission

Chapter 2

The next morning, Kari drives up to the NHL Headquarters in Ottawa. He gets off his car and walks over to the back of the tall, cream-colored building, finding an open door there. He enters into a lit-up hallway, not having to walk that long to find an elevator on the right wall. He presses the only white button on the wall and the elevators doors slide open with a ding! Kari gets into the elevator, which closes quickly; the elevator's lights turned off unexpectedly and the edges of the wall, floor, and ceiling glow neon yellow. The elevator goes down fast, faster than an ordinary elevator, but not too fast.
A few seconds later, the lights turn back on and the doors open with another ding.
Before getting off, Kari observes what's in front of him: a big room that is made out of smooth, grayish/brownish concrete. On the left side is a spiraling stair case that leads to a wooden door that is pretty close to the roof. There is a window that is right next to the door, that gives only the left side of the room sunlight, since there is a wall that sepereated most of the room into two.
On the right side are no windows, so the only lighting are a few lightbulbs hanging from the ceiling. There is a red sofa with orange patches with its back parallel to the wall and a brown coffee table in front of it. Next to the sofa was a huge computer screen that covered the whole wall that is facing Kari.
Typing on the computer very happily is a blue hologram-like figure that he is able to see through easily; Kari guesses that that person is Tommy Gorman.
That must be how Tommy has control over the powers... Kari thinks to himself. He looks over to the left side of the computer, where the Stanley Cup is sitting on a stool. There's the Cup! Oh man...I just need him out of here... Then an idea comes to him.
Kari leans over towards the right side while eyeing Tommy, picking up a white vase that is on a small table which is next to the elevator. He quietly picks it up and thrusts it through the air, letting it disappear across the wall with a startling crashing sound. Kari immediately slides back into the elevator, letting the doors close on him.
Tommy jumps on his seat, alarmed. He gets up quickly and turns around. "What was that?'
Nothing.
Tommy walks over to the small table that once had the vase. "Aw, my vase." He turns to the right, seeing some of the broken pieces coming from the other side of the wall. "What the..." He strides over to the other room, seeing his vase shattered to pieces. "Oh my... How did it get over here? Hmmm...I gotta clean it up." He walks across the room and grabs a broom and dust pan that are tucked in a corner and begins sweeping away.
Kari opens the elevator doors, which dinged, but didn't disturb Tommy. He looks around the room, making sure that the coast is clear and dashes over to the computer. He sits on the big, black chair, staring up at the blue computer screen screen in awe. Now how to navigate through this... He looks down at the over-sized keys on the gigantic keyboard. Yikes... He begins clicking on a few things with the mouse, following the titles of each button on the screen. Back... Home... Powers... Players... Dallas Stars... Kari gawks at the screen. Jamie Benn has my powers? No. Edit. He then clicks on the 'edit' button. The Stars' roster gets pulled up, showing the head shots of Kari's teammates. Where am I...? He scrolls down until he ends up in the 'L' section. Aha, there I am... A wicked smirk grows on his face as he clicks on his face, making the box around his face light up yellow. He then moves his cursor down to the bottom right where it says 'select'; he clicks on it. A box appears in front of the screen, asking Kari if he really wanted to make that move. Yes, he thinks as he clicks the 'yes' button.
A circle with '0%' in the middle appears on the screen swirling around as the computer is making the changes.
The Stanley Cup beings making a humming sound as it is glowing a bright, golden yellow.
Kari makes a gleeful look like a child excited to open up all his presents on Christmas Day as he sees the Stanley Cup glowing brighter and brighter. He feels a familiar sensation on his hands, so he looks at them, seeing that they are also glowing yellow. Yesss!
Meanwhile on the other side of the wall, Tommy heard the Stanley Cup working; he perks up. "Why is the Cup working when I'm not on the computer?"
Kari heard Tommy talking. Oh no... He looks up at the screen, seeing that the power trading is only thirty-two percent finished. Hurry up...!
Tommy throws the last bits of vase pieces into the trash and puts his cleaning tools aside. "I'm gonna check on that Cup of mine."
Kari looks up anxiously at the screen; the percentage is now forty-one percent. He's coming...! He hugs the Stanley Cup, hoping that would speed up the trade.
And it did, the numbers racing high, so high that it was already at seventy-six percent in two seconds. But when it got to one hundred percent, it didn't stop; it went higher and higher, but Kari wouldn't let go. The more power...the better. He hears Tommy's shuffles as he is getting closer to rounding the wall and catching the future Master of the EHP red-handed. I need to go now!
Tommy rounds the wall just as he hears a loud smashing sound. He looks up at the ceiling that is above the computer, seeing a huge hole that shows the blue sky with ceiling pieces raining down slowly. "My ceiling..." He looks at the Stanley Cup, which is beginning to lessen its glow. "What's going on‽" Tommy storms up to the computer and sees only a black screen; some smoke is rising from the screen itself. "My computer! It's damaged!" He presses on a big, red button, trying to revive it. "Oh no..." He slumps onto his black rolling chair, looking up at the sky through hole. "Who got in here and messed around with my computer?"
