Resurrection and Revenge
No Time to Be Cops...Just Dangeruss and Tazer!
Back in Chicago, Illinois,
Russell Wilson, Jonathan Toews and Jamie Benn managed to miraculously get free of the city. They hadn’t done anything drastic or hollywood-like, just simply disguised themselves as normal civilians or tourists and slipped past the NHL guards meant to keep all players in the city and together. (Meaning they made it so they didn’t look like Jonathan Toews and Jamie Benn) Russell didn’t have to disguise himself and he was the one who drove the car out of the city.
They made it to Indianapolis and paused at the airport, in the parking garage there, to figure out what to do. There was no time to be cops. That, they knew well. They decided to walk into the busy travel center and they headed for the terminal cars that would take them to their gates or to the flights in general. They just huddled together like a sports team going through the next play, which Russell had led, in the terminal car together, conversing and trying to get a plan or what to do.
“We can’t be cops this time, unfortunately, Russ.”
“Why not!” Russell folded his arms. He was kind of looking forward the being a cop partner again with Jonathan. It wasn’t for a good reason, as they had to save Patrick from a demonic psychopath, but the adventure behind the rescue was fun.
“We don’t have any time. Besides, it wouldn’t sound right as Dangeruss and Tazer AND Jamie Benn,” the Blackhawk Captain stated, shaking his head.
“Hey!” Jamie exclaimed. “I can be just as cool as you two!”
“That’s not what I mean, Jamie.”
“Oh. Well…whatever… Hey, since this kind of deals with the NHL directly, why don’t we call together the NHL UN!” the Dallas leader suggested, hatching the idea at that moment.
Jonathan turned to him. “No, no, we can’t let the NHL UN know. It might alert Avery.”
“It’s the best bet we have! We need help, Jonathan. You need help. This isn’t Avery, Crabtree and Patrick this time. There’s half a flock of Blackhawks, a Colorado Captain and my best friend! I say we bring the NHL UN into this!” Jamie firmly remarked.
“But--”
“We have to! We don’t even know where Avery is right now!”
He had a point. Jonathan thought about it and then he slowly began to realize just how right Jamie was. It really was the only option they had and they did need help. Tons of help. They need the help of the league.
“You’re right. You are so right, Jamie. We have to unite the league.”
Jamie nodded.
“What’s the NHL UN?” Russell asked, raising an eyebrow at the two hockey players. “I get that its something to do with hockey and the NHL… But what?”
Jonathan looked at him and smiled. “You’ll soon find out. Let’s get to Boston! That’s where the origin of the NHL UN is. Boston was the first hockey team in the NHL technically and the start of our great league is there.”
Russell was enthralled. “So it’s similar to the United Nations?”
“Yes, well kind of, it’s more a gathering of all the NHL team Captains or leaders. Jamie and myself are members.”
“It’ll make more sense when we get there. Normally no one but the leaders and Captains are permitted and allowed, but this is an emergency and an exception,” Jamie said, patting Russell on the shoulder.
The football player for the Seahawks nodded his head.
With that the group exited the terminal finally and headed for the gate going to Boston. When they reached it, Jonathan turned to Jamie.
“You wanna press the signal button?” Jonathan asked. “After all it was your idea.”
“Certainly.” Jamie pulled his phone out and tapped on an app he had. All of the league’s Captain’s had it and it kept them connected. It was used for emergencies only and this was definitely an emergency. He jammed his index finger on a red button that popped up and then it flashed a few times before turning a blue-ish green color.
He turned his phone off and shoved it into his pocket.
“Let’s go meet with the boys.”
They boarded the plane and took off from the grand historical city of Boston, Massachusetts.
