Just Say Yes

As they were all sitting at the lunch table just having a good time. Kennedy could feel something between Patrick and Matt. When Matt found out that Patrick was coming with the group he wasn’t mad but disappointed that he was coming. Kennedy was talking to Tyson when Patrick’s phone was ringing. He stepped out to answer the phone. Matt was sending Kennedy a sign that he wanted to talk to her. She got up and walked over to the restrooms. She was standing next to the women’s door when Matt came over.
“Why do we need to talk in private when we can talk at the table?"
“I just wanted to talk to you alone. It’s been a while we have done that."
“We just talked on the phone not that long ago."
“But I miss your face.
“Matt?” Kennedy pushed her hair back with her left hand.
“I can’t believe that you’re going to marry him."
“Yes Matt I am because I love him."
“I though you loved me."
“Matt we talked about this in Boston. I love you but I’m not in love with you like I am with Patrick. Every couple goes through bumps on the road no matter what how great they are. I mean there were so many with Jon and Addison but they found a way to get through them together."
“Did you though of marry him?"
“A couple of times. Matt I don’t want you to get mad at me when I am happy. What happen to the Matt that was ok when I told him that I was going back to Chicago?"
Then Ryan turn the corner and stop of where the two of them where talking.
“Patrick is looking for you and I told him that you were going to the restroom."
“Thanks Ryan.” She passes both of them and head back to the table. For the rest of lunch she didn't look at Matt and talk to everyone else. They didn’t stay that long after everyone paid for their meal. When they all walked outside the restaurant Kennedy was still talking to Tyson.
“Just remember K that you can call me anytime."
“Thanks Tyson.”They both hugged and went to their car.
“So what took you so long in the restroom?” Patrick was holding Kennedy’s hand.
“Addison called me and had a couple of questions about the wedding.” Patrick nodded his head. If she told him about Matt and her talking by the restroom he would shit his pants. Patrick dropped off Kennedy at Addison’s place. They can’t move into their new place for a couple of weeks. When Kennedy walked into Addison and Jon’s place. Her phone chime of a text. It was from Matt.
“I’m still the same Matt from Boston. Things are just happening to fast for you and Patrick. I though we were on a great course till you needed to head back to Chicago. I am not saying that everything is your fault but I though I was going to marry you one day. I should have done it before you left for the baby shower. But I am happy for you K. Please don’t be mad at me that I still love you and I would do anything for you to be happy.” It took a while for Kennedy to say something back to Matt. He took his time to text Kennedy back for the way he was at lunch.
“Addison?”
“Kitchen.” Kennedy walked into the kitchen and she had the twins by their baby swings while she was still looking at the wedding stuff.
“How was lunch?"
“It was ok but Matt and I got into a little argument."
“Tell me what happen."
“Well …” She told Addison about from what happen in front of the restroom till the text she just got from Matt.
“I haven’t text him back yet because I have no clue what to say."
“Do you love Matt?"
“Yes I do and that’s why I’m marrying Patrick.” Kennedy folded her arms on the table.
“Come on Kennedy you are out in Denver for how long, sleep with Matt when you though you heard that Patrick was seeing other people. There has to be something in you that still loves Matt. Why did you moved to Denver?"
“I though that we talked about this Addison.” Addison didn’t say anything and waited for Kennedy to answer her question.
“Because Patrick did something stupid and I couldn’t handle it anymore.Matt was there to save me from the wedding and so I went back to Matt than Patrick."
“Then why are you going to marry Patrick."
“Because I love him and I’m not inlove with Matt. I still want to be in Matt’s life but he wants me to be in more than I am right now. You know what I think we should stop looking at wedding stuff for today and pick it up when I am ready.” Kennedy didn’t let Addison say anything else and left. She didn’t care to wait for Jon to wake up from his pre game nap. She called a taxi and she was heading back home. She didn’t want to tell Patrick this either. When is Kennedy going to tell Patrick without him being so dramatic about Kennedy and men.


At the end of the game Blackhawks did lose to the Avalanche by didn’t get anything behind Varlamov and they were off to head to Minnesota to play against the Wild. Kennedy wanted to see Patrick one more time before the teams heads off. Kennedy still hasn’t text Matt back yet because no one still haven’t given her the right answer for her. While she was standing outside the dressing room she could see in the corner of her eye was Matt.
“Kennedy can we talk?"
“What more do you want to talk about? That you’re still in love with me and that I went back to someone that hurt me but I still in love with.” Matt put his right hand behind his head.
“Matt we talked about this and I don’t want to go down that road to show you again. Can you please understand that?"
“I will.” Matt came closer to Kennedy and gave her a hug. When the dressing doors open Patrick was the first person out. When he saw Matt hugging her his hands balled up into a fist.
“I was here to say good bye to Kennedy, night you two.” Matt turned around and headed to the bus from the Avalanche are now heading back home to play against the Senators.
“What was that?"
“He just wanted to say goodbye. I just don’t want to say goodbye to you.” Kennedy wrapped her arms around Patrick stomach.
“I’ll be gone for four days."
“I know but I promise you that I won’t get the wedding all ready for you when you get back."
“I hope that you will keep that promise."
“I will.” Then she kiss his lips and they headed to the parking lot to head out their own ways for the night.
