Forever and Always

Let's not Grow Up

Madeline laid on Morgan's bed, as Morgan and Aaron started putting together moving boxes, to throw Lauren's crap in. She stared at them as she scrolled down Instagram. She quickly took a picture of them and uploaded it. "My men <3" She already had thirteen likes on it, in thirty seconds. A couple OHL'ers commented. "Aaron doing all the Work" Sam Reinhart commented. "Tell Morgan we love him" Matt Finn wrote under Sam's comment. "It's like packing up a little of my life." Morgan interrupted Madeline's thoughts as she put her phone to the side and laid her head on her arm. "This is what being young means. We're reckless. We make mistakes, we let people into our lives that could hurt us. But we don't let these things affect us too much. You are going to pick yourself up off the ground Morgan Rielly and you are going to brush your self off and get back on the horse." Aaron let out a laugh. "You are just so poetic today Madeline Gilmore." She smirked. "I try." Morgan gave her a smile and the boys got back to making boxes, and throwing Lauren's shit into them, packing them up. "Where is she living now?" Aaron asked as he duck taped another box shut. "With Chase De Leo."

Aaron and Madeline both looked at each other and let out bellowing laughs. "Well she moved on pretty fast." Aaron almost fell over in laughter. "Yeah tell me about it, I blocked her on Instagram so I wouldn't throw up." Madeline quickly swiped her phone and logged onto the app, typing in Lauren Milton, and clicking her handle. There she was, blonde, gorgeous, skinny, smiling, making Madeline jealous, she on Chase De Leo's lap, the Winnipeg Jets Prospect was probably in heaven. "My bae." She shook her head, just a week ago Morgan was her bae. She scrolled down, Lauren had deleted any evidence of her and Morgan's relationship from her social media. Madeline didn't blame her. But she was jealous of her, that she could go from one hot hockey player to another without a scratch, but if she moved on from Aaron to Morgan, she got scrunitized, and shut down. People hated her, bitched at her until she and Aaron got back together. And Lauren was walking around scandal free. "Well she's making Chase De Leo's dreams come true." Morgan smiled. "You know what good. Let him take her off my hands, I am done with wannabe hockey puck sluts, Mads find me a nice, humble, good girl, I am done with the models and the beauties. Find me you."

Madeline bit her lip and smiled at him. "I have a few former teammates that would be perfect for you! Let me set you up when the time is right!" She let out her hand, for a firm handshake. "Deal." They shook on it, and Aaron put a box onto his head, it rested on his shoulders. "A you okay in there?" Madeline laughed. "Yeah I am just hiding myself from another bad situation you guys will get into." She didn't worry, she knew the exact girl she wanted to hook Morgan up with, it was someone he already knew, a teammates sister who would be perfect for him, they played together in the 2014 Olympics. She couldn't wait to tell Amanda Kessel about the great Morgan Rielly. They would make cute blonde hockey babies.

Madeline sat on the bench at the Air Canada Centre breathing in the awesome Toronto Maple Leaf air. She couldn't wait to play her first game as a Leaf here in the fall alongside Aaron, Morgan and her kickass brother Tyler. "Hey there you are." Her father Tyler Sr announced as he opened the door to the bench and sat down next to her. "Sorry I just couldn't help myself." The two were there to check in on her dad's office, and see how his team was doing on the scouting, the 2017 Draft was inching closer and closer everyday, and Tyler was gone constantly scouting for the leafs, she couldn't wait for the draft to happen so he could be home nonstop for the next three months. "I remember when we made the move here to the Centre from Maple Leaf Gardens. You were just five years old. And you wouldn't sit in the box with the other families you, Tyler and Jack needed to sit right behind the bench. I remember the first game with you right there." He turned around and looked back at her. "I scored the OT winner right after you guys yelled "GO DADDY" She smiled. That was one of her first real memories of her childhood, that game, this arena. "I get goosebumps knowing that one day soon, I'll be suiting up in that locker room, and playing on this ice for real. Just knowing I am going to follow in the footsteps of you and Ty makes me cry." He wrapped his arm around her. "This is your legacy now kid, don't hide from it. You and Aaron are great kids with bright futures, just do you and don't let anyone tell you no." She nodded. "I love you dad." He kissed the top of her head. "Love you too squirt." She got chills, not from the air conditioning on high, but the fact that her dad was right, this was her legacy to run with now. After this summer, things were going to change greatly after this summer, this was their last summer of truly being kids.

Aaron walked into Morgan's house, but not before seeing the For Sale sign outside. "You're moving?" Morgan nodded. "I actually am looking at a house across from Stammer on his road. I can't be in this house, too many memories with the girl who shall not be named. Madeline said I needed to move on, and this is moving on." Aaron shook his head. "Come on dude you just moved in here like only a few weeks ago, all her stuff is out and shipped to California, let's get new furniture, throw a new housewarming party and be kids." Morgan broke into a smirk. "Fine you win." Aaron cellied like he just scored a goal in the Stanley Cup finals. "We can just act like kids, I feel like since Madeline got back from college we've been doing such grown up things, moving out, getting engaged, moving in, breaking up. Can we make a pact that the rest of the summer we act our age? We're only 20 and 22 once!" Morgan shook his hand. "Let's act our ages for once! Before we truly have to grow up. Let's peter pan it this summer."

Aaron agreed. "Yes! Boys night out tonight! Just the boys, Amanda Kessel just got into town, and Madeline and her are kicking it tonight, so let's grab the crew and go out into the TO tonight!" Morgan looked at Aaron. "Amanda Kessel is in town?" Aaron nodded. "Yeah why? Her brother does play for our team..." Morgan shook his head. "Yeah dude I know, i've played with him the last four or five years. I just didn't know Amanda was coming into town." Aaron slapped him on his back. "You have a thing for Amanda Kessel!" Morgan gulped. "No I don't, and get out of my house, I'll see you later!" Aaron obliged, singing on his way out. "Morgan and Amanda sitting in a Kessel tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G." Morgan slammed the door in his face, locking it behind him.

Morgan sauntered back to his kitchen and jumped onto the marble island, he loved this kitchen, that's why he and Lauren picked this house. He pictured himself running after their kids in this house during the season, bringing them back to Winnipeg during the summers, and always coming back to this house. He was glad Aaron convinced him not to sell it anymore, this was going to be his house, just with someone else. He picked up his phone and clicked on a contact he hadn't touched since before him and Madeline had their summer fling. That fling was helping him get over this person, but now that she was in town he needed to see her. "Aaron Ekblad told me you were in town. No call? I miss you. I know i've seen you, but it's different making eye contact from across the family and friends lounge after Leafs games then what it used to be like. Go out to dinner tomorrow night? We have a lot to catch up on Mands. Hope you have a fun night with Madeline, tell her I say hi. I still love you Amanda." He clicked sent and waited for a text from Amanda Kessel telling him, she still loved him too.
