Prove Me Wrong.

'Kieran's POV'

When I woke up the next morning I felt refreshed and ready to conquer the day, but oh had the tables turned on Lauren. She was a hot mess, between the hangover from the night before and nerves she could barely hold herself together. Just as in our sorority days I managed to get food and coffee in her before our written exams, both of us looking very polished and professional.

On our way to the conference rooms I went to shut off my phone, but not before I saw that I had a few snapchats from Tyler. I nudged Lauren and we watched them together, a little laughing would do us good. The videos moved around the locker room first was of Jordie and Fiddler saying "Good luck Kieran" in unison, then Cody "You got it girls!!" his was meant for both Lauren and I, eventually making his way to Jamie. He didn't have a shirt on and his hat was on backwards God, did he look good, his message was "Good luck babe! Love you!" I blushed as other people were making their way into the holding area, the last was just a picture of Tyler his dorky face taking up the whole screen "Go get em Kierbomb! We love you!!" I screenshotted it quickly, blackmail for the next time he says he hates me. I shut off my phone throwing it into my purse, tapping my toes on the floor anxious to get going.

Three hours later it was all over. Everything I had learned in the past 8 years of my life had just been pulled out of me in a series of vigorous questions. My brain was mush, my eyes burned, I needed a drink, and all I could do was exhale because it was over. It was done and in 2 weeks I would know the results, pass or fail, certified or not qualified enough to practice, Dr. O'Reilly or just an over educated animal lover.

I finished before Lauren so after changing into clothes suitable for the flight home and for the game I headed down to the bar to wait for her. I shot her a text informing her where I was and pulled up Jamie's name, *I'm done, I can breathe!! See you in a few hours!* Finishing my Jack and Coke, she came around the corner pulling her suitcase, her brown hair tied up in a bun leggings and a stars T-shirt, "Let's go, I need to sleep and hug Cody." I laughed, throwing my duffel over my shoulder we hailed a cab and made it to the airport with 30 minutes until boarding.

Have you ever watched The Amazing Race? You know those scenes where the teams are running through the airport trying to grab a plane? Yeah well that was Lauren and I, getting off our plane and booking it through the terminal to get to the arena before puck drop. Thank god we were able to bring our bags on as carry-ons! Sprinting through the people we made it to the parking garage, I checked my phone for the details of where my dad had parked my car this morning. We found it with ease and I drove like a mad woman to the AAC, quickly parking in the team lot with my VIP pass. I grabbed my ID and lanyards from my purse as I threw the bag over my shoulder "Come on," I yelled to Lauren as she tried to fix her outfit in the parking lot.

Flashing my pass I got us in through the backdoor, eventually we made it to our seats the boys were still on the ice for last minute warm ups. The crowd was huge as this was the last regular season home game. I scanned the ice for #14, but I caught the eye of the other Benn first, he waved and yelled for Jamie to look. Jordie pointed to where I stood at the glass, and I could see Jamie's face light up as he skated over. Pressing his gloved hand to the glass I did the same, "Go get em Captain!" I mouthed to him and he laughed, "Love you Kier" he yelled over. I blushed as everyone behind Lauren and I awwed, "Love you too J, score for me!"

The game was hard and stressful and as a girlfriend I was about to throw up, so when the game went into overtime I couldn’t sit still. Tied at 2-2 the Blues were playing with no mercy, and I wanted to kill Oshie for the bruise that was now forming on Jamie's face. When the score didn’t change in overtime the shootout made me put my head in my hands, Lauren was still watching and telling me what was happening even if I didn’t want to see it for myself. We needed one more goal and the game was ours, it was all up to Tyler.

Putting it on my best friend's shoulders I was even more nervous, my toes tapping in my high top Converse. "Come on Ty," I mumbled, the crowd breathed in all at once and then I heard it, the glorious goal horn. Looking up from my hands I saw the replay, it was a beautiful goal and I was so proud of Tyler. Jumping up I danced around with Lauren and the other fans, they had done it! The Stars were going to the playoffs, my boy was staying for a little longer!!

Lauren and I sat in our seats as the arena cleared out, avoiding the swarms of people before heading down to the tunnels. I yawned as we waited, it had been a long day and it wasn’t even close to being over. "You ready?" I asked Lauren as I stood and stretched, she nodded and we made our way down to the boys. As we walked down the hall I could hear the boys celebrating even through the thick doors of the locker room. In the family room I was met with a huge hug from Jess, she squeezed me tightly "How was it?! Are you okay!? Are you guys okay?!" Boy did she have a lot of questions! She let me go as I let out a little bit of a laugh, "It was as bad as I expected but it's over, and I'm relieved. And well, we're working on it." I said with a sly smile.

For a change Jamie wasn’t the last one out of the locker room, maybe it was because Tyler had the game winner or maybe he just wanted to see me. Lauren had already run off with Cody and I was still talking with Jess and a few of the other WAGs when Jamie appeared, lightly tapping me on the shoulder. I turned and squealed when I saw his smiling face, wrapping my arms around his neck as he picked me up off the floor. I forgot where we were for a moment wrapping my legs around him not wanted him to put me down, "Hi, Cap" I giggled as I pressed my forehead against his, "Hey Doc, I missed you" Bringing my lips to his quickly I smiled into it, "I missed you too," I murmured pulling away as I slid back onto the floor.

Jess being the dork that she is clapped and a few others joined in and I could feel my face heat up as I leaned on Jamie's shoulder. Jamie shook his head and kissed the top of my forehead, "C'mon, let's go home." Lacing my finger's with his we walked to the parking lot, I yawned as we stopped at my Jeep. "Jame, I'm really tired.. Can we just sleep tonight, I know we need to talk but it can wait one more night, right?" "You read my mind Kier, my bed or yours?" I unlocked the car, "Yours," I kissed him one last time before climbing in and following him to his house.
