My Knight in Shining Armor

Patrick Kane is a “Damsel in Distress”

Eventually, Val leaves the group to return to Valeri Land. There, he meets a nice young redhead maiden there named Evelyna and they fall in love. (Oh, come on, you all know you saw it coming. Don’t even go there. Val’s mine people. MINE!) He sends Jonathan letters riddled with his happiness and learns that Patrick and Jonathan are settling in together as well. Jamie has remained in the kingdom next to Valencia, working hard on a plan to save Tyler.

It is now almost a year with Jonathan and Patrick hooking up in their newfound freedom. One day, Jonathan comes home from gathering supplies and finds the door wide open and Patrick missing.

“Patrick! Patrick!” Jonathan cries out, disturbed by the sight. He drops the supplies off and searches for his lover. He runs back outside and into the heart of the village, where he skids to a halt. “PATRICK!!”

Patrick is wearing his peasant-y loose fitting light blue shirt with black pants and is in the arms of two men dressed in all black with black metallic helmets over their heads. He is shoved toward a guillotine machine and then forced to his knees. His wrists are bound together tightly behind him and he is struggling, trying to get his hands free from the ropes. “Get your hands off of me! I didn’t do anything!”

Jonathan shoves people to the side, darting to the rescue. “Patrick, hold on!”

“JONATHAN, HELP ME!!” Patrick screams out as his head is forced into the slot. “JONNY!!”

Jonathan hops onto the platform, just as the signal is given. He darts toward the machine and narrowly saves Patrick, scooping him into his arms and whisking him off the platform, to safety on the back of a horse.

As soon as they are safely on the horse, Jonathan tears the ropes off of Patrick’s wrists and the blond instantly flings his arms around the Knight. Jonathan flicks the reins and they gallop off, away from the scene.

“My Knight in shining armor arrives just in time!” Patrick cries, clinging to his hero.

Jonathan flashes him a stunning, movie star-type smile. “Hey, I can’t turn my back one minute on you, without you landing in some kind of trouble. It’s just my luck as your hero, right?”

“I’m your damsel in distress!” Patrick exclaims.

“You’re worse than Tyler Seguin.” Jonathan chuckles and Patrick joins in with him eventually. The Knight suddenly breaks into song:

“Just to say I love you, never seems enough.
I’ve said it so many times,
I am afraid you won’t understand...
What I really mean when I say it.
How can so much feeling,
So much adoration possibly fit into
Those three little words?
But until I find some other way
Of saying what I feel,
Then “I love you” will have to do.
So no matter how many times I say it
Never take it lightly, for you are my life,
And my one and only true love.
I love you now more than ever before, Patrick Timothy Kane Jr.”

Soon, they get back to the house. Patrick is lifted off the horse and placed on the ground. Jonathan hops off after him. The Knight then puts an arm around his blond lover and leads him into the house. They enter and Jonathan closes the door.

Patrick breaks into song:

“I look deep in his eyes,
Calm and quiet
Our love will never die...
A Silence may surround
But his love is everywhere
It is always around.”

Instantly, Patrick grabs him at once and pulls him along toward the bedroom. They stumble in and Jonathan takes control, shoving Patrick onto the bed. He lands on the bed and Jonathan hovers over him, pinning him to the bed.

Patrick sings out:

“Live and love and laugh and cry
He's the one I want to be with
I'll love him until I die
And here's my heart, baby take it
Promise me, don't break it
So may this last till the end
Forever and ever and ever,
I love you, Jonathan Bryan Toews.”

They remain there, gazing into each other’s eyes before they begin to makeout.

They both sing:

“Rain or sun or hail or snow
I'll be with you
Where ever you go
I’ll be there for you
Who cares what the haters say
We always break the rules
We'll have it our way.”

A few weeks later,

Jonathan and Patrick are planning on getting married. However today, Patrick is out riding his horse, enjoying the weather and the nice mid-morning air. A crisp breeze floods through him as he flicks the reins and launches down a hill. He screams with joy, loving the freedom. He is so happy that he doesn’t realize that he is heading straight into an ambush.

He skids to a halt at the bottom and flings his arms out to either side, overcome with the joy.

“Once upon a time,
I met a nice guy…
I was very shy,
While he was super kind…
And, the guy smiled and said,
‘Patrick, don’t fear, I’ve come to save the day
And take you far from here.’

“(But) I am more than just
A Damsel in Distress…
I am so much more
Than a pretty face you can caress.
I----”

Then suddenly, something jumps out at him. It is a man dressed in a terrifying bear costume. The horse is spooked and rears up. Patrick rapidly grabs onto the mane tightly before the horse zooms off.

“Peekaboo!” Patrick screams. “Settle down, please. It’s o--” He spots the edge of the cliff ahead of him. “Oh no.”

The horse continues in its panic, unaware of the dangerous cliff ahead. Patrick screams out, attempting to control the wild, spooked creature. But it doesn’t stop, its whinnying increases. “JONATHAN!!”

The distance between him and the death cliff decreases more. He closes his eyes, thinking that this is the end. Suddenly a shadow is casted over him. He opens his eyes to see that Jonathan’s black mare has darted in front of Patrick’s wild one. Patrick feels the horse slow to an abrupt halt and snorts madly.

The blond shakingly raises up and blinks gratefully at the valiant Knight, who snatches the reins into his hands. “Jonathan! Jonny, thank God!” Patrick chuckles.

Jonathan flashes him a smile. “What happened?”

“Some guy in a bear outfit spooked him. I tried to control him, but he wouldn’t have it. I thought I’d die!”

“Now Patrick, you know that will never happen with me around. I’ll always find you and save you!”

Patrick nods. “I know.”

Jonathan comes around to the side, still gripping onto the reins of Patrick’s horse. He leans over and takes Patrick’s mouth into his own and kisses him. “Just...be...careful…”

“I try my best to. But you know I’m a damsel in distress.”

“You’re MY damsel in distress!” Jonathan exclaims, before he breaks out in song:

“Once upon a time,
I met a cute guy,
He’s one of a kind,
And he needed to be mine.
And he came to me and said,
“Jonny, I’m a damsel in distress,
How did I wind up in such a big mess?”
And I said, “Patrick, you’re my damsel in distress,
Don’t you fear, I’ve come to save the day
And take you far from here.”

“We are in love,
With each other for forever
No one can tear us apart
No one can whatsoever.
I am gonna be married to,
The most beautiful,
Man in the whole wide world
I’ve ever known...he makes my
Life complete, I need him,
I just need him.”

A few months later (and well into the next year),

Jonathan Toews has learned not to leave Patrick alone much. The two are always hanging together and today is no exception. They are walking through the small urban village where they live, hand-in-hand. No one pays much attention to them, simply just waving at them and continuing on. Granted, there aren’t many - if any other - homosexual couples around, but Patrick nor Jonathan are deterred.

They continue down the pathway, heading for the main center in the community and it is there, that Jonathan suddenly feels a sharp shove on him and he is torn from Patrick’s grasp. Patrick is grabbed by someone on horseback in dark black armor and yanked onto the horse with the unknown assailant, who trapped him in the front.

Patrick fights back but is lassoed around the arms with the reins. The horse gallops off, heading away from Jonathan and soon out of the kingdom. Patrick tries to save himself, however his efforts are in vain (trying to fight back while on a horse, galloping off is pretty difficult I would imagine). Instead he ends up screaming out, “JONATHAN!! HELP!!”

Jonathan scrambles to his feet and narrows his eyes. He gives a whistle and soon his trusty black steed appears quickly from out of nowhere. Jonathan easily grabs the reins and climbs aboard. Then he flicks them and launches after the other horse and rider.

He manages to close the distance between them, but soon they come to the set location. The person drags Patrick into a tall tower like one in a Disney type land. The blond manages a good fight but he is overpowered and the person slams the door shut and locks it (most likely) as the brave Knight skids to a halt before a bridge that leads up to a tower. He takes in the structure and trots over the bridge.

Then he hops off his steed and tests the door. It is locked sure enough. He rounds the bottom exterior of the stone structure and takes in the current challenge for him.

“Jonny!! Please help me!” Patrick’s terrified shriek comes from inside. It is then followed by the haunting sound of chains clattering together and a loud, echoing smack.

Jonathan looks up and spots the small window. Unfortunately...how will he get up to it? Luckily, he remembers that he has some rope in the pouch of his satchel. He snatches the coil out and loops one end in a knot. Then he tosses it up and is able to catch a hook or something sticking out of the stone. He tests it a few times and then smiles.

“Don’t worry Patrick, Jonny’s coming to save you!” the Knight exclaims and begins to scale the wall, heading up the rope. He reaches the window rather quickly and swings into the tower. He lands inside, finding himself bathed in shadows at once. Patrick is struggling in chains, which have been clamped over his wrists and pinned behind him. He is attached to some kind of hook in the floor, anchoring him in place.

Patrick looks at Jonathan with wide blue eyes and he jerks at the metal bondage desperately. (Because we have a Rapunzel theme, a visual would be like the final scene in Tangled, except that - you know - Patrick Kane isn’t a female...or gagged...) The brave Knight steps forward, before he is met with a fist to the side of his head.

“You’re not taking him! He’s mine!” a disguised voice snaps.

Jonathan shakes his head and turns to find himself looking at a wild crazy-haired woman. Her dark brown hair is in curly tangles and appears to be in a lion’s mane type of style. Her eyes are a piercing gray color. The brunette man raises his hands up calmly.

“Whoa, alright, first of all...you shouldn’t kidnap, second of all...you shouldn’t take things that aren’t yours and claim them as such, and third...you really shouldn’t have messed with me!” Jonathan kicks out and slewfoots the woman, causing her to crash to the ground. Then he swings a fist at her face but she dodges it and grabs his arm.

“Maybe you shouldn’t have chosen such a handsome damsel?!”

“I’m not a damsel...though I am in distress!! It’s people like you who make me one!! Let me go!” Patrick snaps, lunging forward and making the chains clatter noisily behind him.

Jonathan and the crazy woman continue to battle, fighting for Patrick. Jonathan ends up shoving her out the window and she can’t recover in time to grab the rope and slams into the ground below, knocking herself out cold. The Knight spins around and darts over to Patrick, unchaining him as quickly as he can.

“Thanks Jonny.”

“You’re welcome Patrick...I’d do anything for you, you know that. People may make you a damsel, but hey, life would get pretty boring for me if you weren’t one.”

Patrick chuckles and launches into song:

“We are in love,
With each other for forever
No one can tear us apart
No one can whatsoever.
I can’t rescue myself,
I need a Knight’s help.
And we’ll have our happily ever after you’ll see...
I may not be a girl or in a dress,
But I’m still a damsel in distress.”

As Patrick and Jonathan escape the tower, climbing back down the rope, ignoring the dead body on the ground and getting back onto the black horse, Jonathan sings out:

“I will never leave your side,
‘Cause trouble follows you,
That is what it seems like,
You’re just a damsel in distress.
Nothing will ever get past me,
You’ll never slip out of my grasp,
As you have already seen.”

He grabs Patrick’s waist with one hand and the reins with the other. He steals another quick kiss before he flicks the reins and they launch off:

“You’ve seen me come to your rescue,
I missed no clue,
I have been your hero and will be soon,
Since trouble will always continue,
Lurking around in the shadows,
But you’ll be fine.”

They launch across the bridge and head away from the tower, heading down the pathway, back toward the village they live in, singing:

“We are in love,
With each other for forever
No one can tear us apart
No one can whatsoever.
I am gonna be married to,
The most beautiful,
Man in the whole wide world
I’ve ever known...he makes my
Life complete, I need him,
I just need him.”

Patrick sings:

“And I can see that since I’m still here,
With you and I’m feeling fine,
More than fine, I’m in love with you!
You are my hero whom I can’t live without,
You are my everything,
And you make my life complete.”

Jonathan sings:

“You make my life complete every day,
In a different way, that is, Patrick,
That’s what makes us special.
So you will be in distress,
And I will be running fast to express,
My love by saving you.”

They enter the village and trot to their house quickly, while singing. Jonathan helps Patrick off the horse, who is locked in a stall to the side and then they grab hands and enter the house. Jonathan closes the door and he wraps Patrick up. They sing out with:

“We are in love,
With each other for forever
No one can tear us apart
No one can whatsoever.
I am gonna be married to,
The most beautiful,
Man in the whole wide world
I’ve ever known...he makes my
Life complete, I need him,
I just need him.”

Notes

This is to the tune of "Damsel in Distress (DID)" by: Laura Baum. Warning: It is slightly country (if you don't like Carrie Underwood/Taylor Swift or pop country, don't listen to the song) Here is the link to it, if you are interested though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2ZF2cp15do
And one more chapter to go...an epilogue really.

@ukiss
You can call it whatever you want, but the way I see it, this site is called hockeyfanfiction and it is where people can post ideas that they have. There's no rule about what kind of stories those have to be. And if I want to write these I can, because it's fucking fan fiction. And I'll tell you again, you don't have to read ANY of these. And you certainly don't EVER put someone down like this. It is your opinion. If you don't like it, don't read it. I don't go and post mean comments to others who write all the romance-drama tales that always end up with someone getting pregnant. Grow up and get over yourself.

SO YOU GUYS WANNA SEE SOMETHING REAL MESSED UP????
Here's a visual for the pairing we'll call Tazler:

EWWWWWW!!!!! Right?
Just remember this though...BergyxTyler is a thing apparently and I had the unfortunate pleasure of reading that ugly pairing, so....Tazler compared to that is a little better, but still can't beat the Kazer, which is coming up! XP
