My Knight in Shining Armor

In the kingdom just outside of Valencia, Jamie jumps to his feet. He figures he needs to get help in order to save Tyler. He’s no Knight and this is the first time in years, he’s been out of the castle and on his own. The Jester sends a note to Jonathan in hopes he’ll help out but time passes and no response comes.

Jamie ultimately decides to leave his kingdom, finding a horse of his own and he journeys to Jonathan and Patrick’s new home kingdom some miles from his own. He launches into a song:

“Way back in days of old,
There was once a legend told
About a hero known as Jonathan.”

“He once had everything,
A fair maiden and Knighting…
There was no hero quite like Jonathan.”

“Tough, plus every other manly value,
Mess with him, he’d disembowel you.
Yes, he ruled in every way,
A fairytale cliche
And people called him Jon-a-than!”

“Tyler Seguin was his everything,
His one true love and the one who made him happy.
But then one tiny problem arose,
Taylor, a nearby queen of wealth and stature,
She watched Tyler Seguin, lust in her eyes.
And she asked him for his hand,
Well, more like a demand,
Well, more like had her henchman snatch him.”

“Which brought us to the wedding day,
Jonathan was on the way
To rescue the poor Tyler, who had to wait,
Behind the gates for his true love to come
And rescue him from his fate.
But he chose, instead, to be rich with fame
And broke our hero’s heart in two after he came.”

Jamie enters the village and continues to sing, while he looks around for Jonathan or Patrick.

“Then the Prince Patrick
Came searching for this fella,
The washed-up hero known as Jonathan
He’d gotten him to lend a hand
To oust the Queen who’d seized his land
But zing!
He was working for the Queen!”

“Then begun the plot,
With which there was quite a lot
With Patrick stringing Jonathan.
And with the evil Queen
Prepared to do her thing
And with the young king sill pretty sure he couldn’t.
And with Jonathan about to start his journey,
One, though twisty and immensely turney
Oh, it was lots of plot, we know.”

“But that wasn’t everything, ‘cause…
Our hero only came
To save his former flame,
Forced into marriage with the cruel Queen Taylor.
Sweet Tyler Seguin, though,
Had lost his saintly glow,
In fact, he fell in love with the castle’s Jester.
And the Queen, who wanted to win his heart
And rip our hero’s world apart
Wasn’t in for the sudden change to come.”

“So then the trap was sprung…
And Jonathan learned the truth about
Prince Patrick’s facade and his plan
To bring him to the evil Queen Taylor.
They were thrown in the dungeons
And made to suffer.
And then joined by Tyler and Jamie, the Jester
Who were victims of the Queen’s latest rage
She was beginning to spiral
And even turn sharply bitchward.”

“They were set to die, right there,
But saved by the lead guard, Brad
Who had a change of heart, isn’t that rad?
However Tyler was kept as a hostage,
While the others escaped.
And yet...the Jester longed for the day
When he would be reunited with his beloved Tyler Seguin.”

Jamie finds the church in the town, where Jonathan and Patrick are set to get married. He jumps off his horse and walks up to the building. He pushes on the doors and bursts into the scene.

“So our story ends right here…
With questions everywhere.
Like will the Jester waste his whole life waiting? (No.)”

Jamie stops in the doorway. Everyone is looking at him. Jonathan and Patrick are standing in the front, holding hands. They are shocked at his appearance.

“Jamie?!” they exclaim in unison. “Jamie Benn!?”

“Do you oppose these two getting married?” the priest asks.

Jamie shakes his head and walks down the aisle. “No. Never. I’m for them, but...Jonathan, may I have your help? I’m tired of waiting and I have to save him! I have to save my dear Tyler Seguin, it isn’t the same without him.”

Jonathan lets go of Patrick’s hands and descends the stairs, coming down to Jamie. He places a hand on the Jester’s shoulder. He looks back at Patrick, who is smiling at him with a cute look on his face. Before he answers Jamie, the Jester breaks out in song once more, purposefully cutting the Knight off. After all this is a cliffhanger...

“Will Patrick and Jonathan live happily ever after
And will they be happy married as a couple?
Can the Prince Patrick stay out of danger
Or remain a damsel in distress?
Will we meet Evelyna and see Val again?
And what of Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin,
The peasants, Brad, and John Tavares too?
Will the Queen rule the entire scene
And plunge into unending madness?
Will Tyler Seguin be free
Or will he rot away before Jamie can save the day?”

“Who knows?
But if this continues on,
The story will carry on and off our hero will go
And so the legend will continue to grow.
The new legend known as Joooooonnnnnnnn-aaaaaa-thaaaaannnnnn!!”
