Long Way Home

Jordie POV

“Holly are you okay,” I said holding her by the shoulders, trying to get her to look at me. Her eyes were blank though, she wasn’t looking at me, she was looking over my shoulder at Jamie. I could hear the sound of his fist’s hitting Paul with the mix of him yelling.
“Don’t fucking touch my wife” he yelled. I knew there was more to this then I could see.
“Holly look at me” I said shaking her lightly. She wasn’t looking away though. Before I could get another word out I felt her body let go. I managed to catch her before she hit the ground.
“Ty put Marshal inside and come stay with Holly” I yelled and waited for him to come to us before going to grab Jamie off of Paul.
“Jamie c’mon man,” I said grabbing him and pulling him away from Paul. He fought back trying to get back to the man who was laying in fear on the floor.
“Fucking let go of me Jordie” he yelled as he tried to pull away.
“Look at your wife” I said shaking him a little and turning him to look in Holly’s direction. He stopped struggling immediately so I let him go to Holly. I went to check on Paul who seemed to be in shock on the floor. I picked him up by his shirt, forcing him to his feet. Jamie hadn’t done too much damage, maybe a black eye and a broken nose.
“Jamie would have had the right to kill you for trespassing, you understand?” I said sternly “You get out of here and I never want tot see or hear from you again. Got it? Or next time it’s gonna be a hell of a lot worse” I said letting go of his shirt. He nodded and ran. I let out a breathe before turning to look back at the scene behind me. Ty was on the phone calling 911 and Jamie was kneeling over Holly who was waking up now.
“Don’t forget to tell them she’s pregnant” the words were out of my mouth before I could even register what I was saying. Jamie and Tyler both looked at me like I was crazy, really what I had done was point out the very large elephant in the room.

“I think I’m going to buy them a dog. A nice big lab, or german Sheppard” Ty said as he sat in the waiting room next to me. Holly and Jamie were in with the doctor as we waited outside.
“I like the idea” I said as I rested my head on the wall behind me.
“Holly won’t be alone when were on the road and stuff. I can leave Marshall and Cash with her too. Three big dogs? No ones going to mess with her” he said.
I let out a little laugh.
“I’m happy Marshal was there” I answered.
“I’m going to buy them a dog tomorrow” he said as he pulled out his phone. I saw him googleing breeders. He was right though, Holly and Jamie seemed to have the worst luck.

Jamie’s POV

“Jamie I can walk up the stairs” Holly said with a tone of annoyance.
“The doctor said as little stress as possible and that you should take it easy” I said as I continued to carry her up the stairs.
“He said little stress not bed rest” she said with a yawn “okay maybe I can get used to you carrying me” she added and rested her head on my chest. I let out a little laugh.
“Jamie we have to talk about what happened” Holly said a little later while we were laying in bed. I knew this was coming, I knew she was freaked out at what happened.
“It’s nothing” I said hoping we could just brush it off.
“Jamie it’s not nothing, I’ve never seen you like that.” She said turning in the bed so that her head was resting on my chest.
“I just lost it,” I answered as I moved my hand to play with her hair.
“I was scared he had done something to you” I admitted. It was true. When I came outside and I saw his hand on her and Marshal barking I just started running. As soon as I had my hand on him I blacked out. She looked up at me then, resting her chin on my chest. She ran her hand through my hair without saying anything. We stayed like that for a couple of minutes, not saying anything.
“I love you Jamie Benn” she whispered after a while “you’re the best thing that ever happened to me. Me and the baby are lucky to have you”
"I have loved you from the first time I laid my eyes on you, and I will love you as I take my last breath. Whatever life throws at us, we're in this together."
