A Second Chance at Love

I was annoyed to say the least. I didn't like the fact that she was keeping something from me at all. And then to be doing it with another Penguin just irked me. I mean we had our fair share of trouble with Jordan. I didn't want any more drama in my life, especially with those guys.

She came out of the bathroom and I helped her lay back down. She threw me a dazzling smile. "I love you. Come cuddle with me." I smiled back at her, my mind not in it for the moment and laid down next to her.

"So what did you do today hun?" I asked her, waiting impatiently for her reaction.

"Not too much, talked to Max before his practice and read some more of this book I got from Pam. Honestly, I've been quite bored, I'm glad you are home." I just smiled. The last phone conversation before the one I had walked in on had lasted 2 hours and ten minutes, and that was most of this morning.

We laid around most of the afternoon until it was time to go get the younger boys. I left to pick them up and grab something for dinner. I dialed Mike's number as soon as I walked out the door. If anything, maybe he could analyze this better. Raina and him were close.

I was freaking out trying to figure out why she would be talking to him so much. As far as I knew, she didn't even know him well. She never hung out with him like the other guys. Mike answered and I immediately started rambling.

He cracked up when I finished. "First of all, catch your breath man. I know exactly what is going on and its nothing bad. She is working on a surprise for you. It has been giving her something to focus her time on while she is laid up and Kris is helping her. Put a smile on your face and go home and hug her. You got an amazing girl that loves you." I thanked him and hung up. He had definitely made me feel better. I was still puzzled about the surprise though

I grabbed the boys and made my way home. I was happy to have the night off and wanted some time with my family. We played and watched a movie.

Not long into the movie, Claude and Megan came in smiling. She ran over to show Raina the ring and I gave Claude a hug. "I am so happy for you. She is great." We all sat down.

The boys were excited that they would get to be in the wedding, which was also being planned for late summer. They were going with August and we were leaning towards September. I would have loved to convince her on sooner but she seemed set on being skinny again.

"So guys, we would love for you to be our daughter's godparents" Raina said to Claude and Megan. They accepted happily. It was a nice night. After the boys went to bed, we sat around talking and laughing.

The Kris situation weighed a little in my mind but I felt better after talking to Mike. After those two left we went up to bed. She was trying to convince me to tell her the name I picked out for our daughter but I wouldn't give in. I hoped she would like it. I was so excited to be bringing a little girl into the world. I hoped she would be every bit like her mother.
