A Second Chance at Love

Things were going great. I was thirty-four weeks pregnant. The guys had just won a quick series with Boston in the Quarterfinals and were eagerly awaiting their next opponent, which was looking more like Pittsburgh. The Penguins had a game six tonight at home. Caelan had a big tourney scheduled for today up in North Jersey. Danny, Claude, Megan, Danielle and the boys were going, leaving me home to be babysitted by Kris and Mike. "Behave and no running around." Danny said to me kissing me as the guys made puking noises. I just laughed. I haven't walked around much yet alone run in forever. I gave Caelan a hug and wished him luck and they left.

"So, enjoying the rest guys?" I asked. They had been off for two days now and would have at least two more off.

"Nah baby doll, just want to play." Kris commented as he search for a game to play. We ended up playing Monopoly. Mike destroyed us and I swore he cheated. Then he went and got me a Five Guys burger for lunch. "Mike I swear I love you. " I mumbled, as I ate the juicy burger.

"So whats up guys, where are your girls today?" I asked casually. Mike smiled and I knew he was happy for the first time in a long time. He had met a girl name Emma a few weeks ago. He kept telling me he had to bring her by. She wanted to meet me because he talked so much about me. She sounded like a really nice girl, she loved hockey but didn't go nuts over the guys in it. Kris was playing the field like an All Star. I yelled at him constantly to be careful, god knows girls were trying to trap his silly ass.

After lunch I feel asleep. I woke around twenty after two, stretching. "Hey there mama, good rest, Danny just called, they should be home by 3:00. Caelan's team got knocked out early." Mike asked from the recliner.

Kris was sound asleep on the floor. "Perfect nap dear, but I have to pee. Help me get up. These kids are killing me." Once he helped me up I walked into the bathroom. I didn't make it halfway across the kitchen before I heard the splash and knew it was gonna be a long day.

Mike looked up at me in surprise. "Oh shit Raina, please tell me that isn't what I think it is." I just laughed.

He went for his phone and I yelled "no" to him. "Mike, he will be home in twenty minutes. I don't want him in an accident. You know he is gonna panic."

By this time Kris had groggily sat up. "Hey pumpkin, you are gonna be an uncle today." I playfully tousled his hair. The idiot started to panic. He tried dragging me to the car in my wet pajamas. "Calm down, I'm going to go get changed. Danny should be home in a few. Mike is calling my doctor now."

Kris helped me upstairs and helped me get changed. He grinned at me to tell me my boobs were huge and let me know he should have taken a picture. I wanted to punch him. I made him pack a bag of clothes for me and help me back down to the couch.

"Yo dude, her chest is massive." he laughed to Mike, who just shook his head.

"You should have let Kris call the doctor and me help you. Doc said to come in when he gets home, he is clearing an operating room for four o'clock." Mike set himself on mopping the kitchen and Kris paced the living room.

Danny pulled up ten minutes later. He came in and looked at Kris's face. "Raina, why does he look like he is gonna pass out?"

I just laughed. "Ready to add two more to the bunch, Daddy? My water broke about a half hour ago." He just smiled.

"At least you picked a time where I have a few days off." The whole clan of us got into cars and headed to the hospital ready to bring two new lives into the world.
