A Second Chance at Love

I went down the hall and into Raina's recovery room. She opened her eyes sleepily. "How are they" she asked.

"Perfect, as soon as they move you into a room they will bring them to you." I said, giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"So are you ready to name our children?" I asked with excitement. I adored the name I picked out and knew she would love it.

I had no idea what she had come up with. She smiled at me and whispered "His name is Daniel." I held her tight and let her know I loved it.

"So do you want to know our daughter's name?" Her face lit up. "Daniel I have only been waiting for months." She looked at me and waited. Her name is Jolie Marie." She broke into a huge grin. "Its beautiful baby, I love it."

The nurse came and got ready to move Raina. I used the opportunity to go down the hall towards the waiting room. I barely got down the hall and I could see the crowd. Everyone got real quiet. "Ok, so Raina, is doing fine should be in a room with both of the babies in a few minutes. They are both perfectly healthy. Daniel Jr. was born at 4:46 pm and weight 5 pounds, 8 ounces and was 19 inches long. Jolie Marie was born at 5:48pm at weighed 5 pounds 4 ounces and was eighteen and a half inches long. They are perfect and so far completely opposite of each other. He seems like he is the louder of the two, she's definitely more content and quiet."

Kris broke out in a laugh. "So they are the opposite of you two huh." The entire waiting room cracked up. I don't think I could have smiled any more as I was congratulated by the group.

The nurse came out and lets us know they were in a room and six people could go in at a time. I think she wanted to get rid of the huge crowd. I let Danielle and Andrej take the boys in first. Lavy had just come through the door and I cracked up. His arms were filled with flowers, balloons and huge stuffed animals. I took a quick picture, as I knew our coach wasn't the sentimental type. I talked to him for a few moments letting him know I was still gonna make practice tomorrow. I left the crowd out in the waiting room and jogged up the hall into her room.

I had to smile. Andrej and Ryan were holding Danny. Danielle was getting Raina a drink as Cam and Carson sat on her bed with her and Caelan was sitting holding Jolie and talking to her. My crazy, big family was complete. There isn't much more a man could ask for in this life.

I sat down next to Raina and grabbed her hand and mouthed I love you as she looked around at the scene. "So, this is what perfect feels like Danny?" I kissed her and told her I was proud of her. She hadn't quite come down off the medicine yet.

"Danny, you know I would get married to you tomorrow. I just don't think I want to do it in a hospital." She cracked up.

"Honey, September is fine. " I let her know quietly. Jolie started crying and my heart melted. This definetely has to be what perfect feels like.
