It's a Girl's Game

Chapter 24

The Pittsburgh Penguins were currently San Jose to play the sharks. In Jamie's eyes, the only good thing about this west coast trip was the fact she got to see an old friend. Her 'old' friend is Haley Lahti. Haley moved to the States when her dad got a job in California when Haley and Jamie were 13. They still kept in contact but this was the first time they would be seeing each other in years.
"Watch where you're going," Sutter sand when Jamie rammed into his back.
"Sorry, I need to get through, move," Jamie said, trying to shove pass Brandon again.
"Move," Jamie said again.
"Tell me where you are going, then maybe I'll let you passed," Brandon smirked.
"To see a friend, now let me through so I can go meet up with her."
"Why?"
"Because I haven't seen her in 7 years and this is the one time we can meet up because I have a job and she has school," Jamie said, finally getting passed Brandon and running away from him.
Jamie felt her phone vibrate and when she looked she saw that Haley had texted her: When are you getting here?
Jamie knew she was late and she knew who to blame: Sorry, teammate wouldn't let me leave, be there soon :)
Jamie got to the coffee shop the were meeting in 5 minutes. She looked around to find the face she was looking for.
"JJ!" Jamie heard a voice call. Right away she knew who it was.
"Hey Halles," Jamie laughed while the two hugged.
"Looked at you, Miss NHL star. How you been buddy?" Haley asked.
"I've been good, embarrassing hot shots is always good," Jamie said, "How have you been?"
"Busy. Between school, work and swim I barely have any time to myself."
"I know the feeling," Jamie agreed. The two were talking like this for a good hour before they decided to leave and go do something else.
"Wait, they spend a hour looking for you dog that was just in your room?" Haley laughed. Jamie was telling her the story of when Olli, Geno, Tanger and Downie 'lost' her three month old puppy.
"Yeah, you should have seen the look on Olli's face when I said she was in my room the entire time," Jamie laughed.
"I bet he was scared you were going to hurt him," Haley said.
"I thought he was going to kill those three," Jamie laughed when she felt herself run into something or someone.
"Are you o- Jamie?" the voice sounded familiar and when Jamie looked up she knew why.
"Nemo!" Jamie called, hugging her friend.
"What are you doing here?"
"I'm here to beat you guys," Jamie said.
"I know that, I meant what are you doing in downtown San Jose?" Antti asked.
"Visiting a friend."
"And that must be who this lady is?" Antti questioned.
"Antti this is Haley and if you hurt her I'm going to hurt you," Jamie said.
"OK, overprotective much?"
"Yes, now if you'll excuse us, we got some catching up to do," Jamie said moving passed Antti, "Get ready lose tonight!"
"Sure, if it'll help you sleep at night," Antti called as Jamie and Haley ran away from him.
"How has Olli been with his shoulder?" Haley asked. It was a known fact to every that before Haley left Finland she had a crush on Olli Maatta. Olli never denied the he liked Haley, which led Jamie to believe he liked Haley.
"He's been fine, really bored though. I think his brother might be coming soon," Jamie said.
"Which one?"
"Antti," Jamie bluntly said.
"So I'll meet you after the game, come down to the locker rooms," Jamie said as Haley and her went to the Shark's arena.
"OK, how will I get there?"
"You know that thingy I got from Antti, use that," Jamie said.
"OK, see you after the game," Haley said, "Good luck."
"Thanks."
It was a tough loss for the Penguins and Jamie felt like it was her fault. If she wouldn't have hit the post in overtime, they wouldn't have lost in a shout out.
"Cheer up buttercup," Haley said. She was sitting next to Jamie, trying to get her to let go of the loss.
"One centimeter to the left and we would have been celebrating," Jamie mumbled.
"Yeah, and one centimeter to the right and you would have missed the net all together," Haley said.
"It was nice seeing you again Haley," Jamie said, "Would have been nice to get a win."
"I'm just glad we got to meet up," Haley said hugging her friend.
"Maybe you can come to Pittsburgh sometime," Jamie said.
"Maybe, bye Jamie."
"Bye."
