In January 2012 Jamie hurt her knee and was going to be out a month or two. Malik, being the good big brother he is, decided to give Jamie a week break while she recovered. He had a Soccer game in Boston and since Malik knew Tuukka Rask, he was able to get tickets.

Malik is adopted and they went to school together.
Jamie and Malik were going to a Bruins-Flyers game. It was the first NHL game either of them had gone to and Jamie was beyond excited. Watching Liiga games and SHL (Swedish hockey) games were good and all, but these players are the real deal.
The game was one of the most memorable things she has ever watched. It was a goalie battle eventually going to a shout out. The most memorable event of the 2012 year would come a littlr later though. Jamie and Malik were suppose to meet Tuukka after the game.
We don’t care about the stupid game, just get to the part where you embarrass a Cryer, I mean Flyer.

This was about two hours after the game. Jamie was walking backwards talking to Tuukka and Malik when she ran into someone. That ‘someone’ was Flyers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky. A few flyers were out walking around after the game.
“Watch where you’re going girl,” Claude Giroux snapped.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t think there would be any Cryers out after that whooping the Bruins gave you,” Jamie said sweetly. Tuukka was surprised she said that, they don’t call the Flyers the 'Broad Street Bullies' for nothing.

Yeah, I’ve been told I have a big mouth.

“What did you say?” Giroux asked.
“You know what, you’re a terrible captain, you don’t deserve that ‘C’.”
“What could you possible know about hockey, the only reason you went this game was because of your boyfriend,” he said.
“Listen here pal, I have been playing hockey since I was 5. When I started there wasn’t a girl’s team so I played with the boys. When a girl’s team was finally made, I didn’t want to transfer. I ended up playing for the Jyväskylä Ducks. So I ended up leading the ‘Ducks’ to a junior Olympic championship over Canada and got the winning goal,” Jamie ranted.

“That means nothing. You would never be able to survive in the NHL,” Giroux said, “Just face it, men are soupier to women. It’s been that why since the beginning of time.”

“Listen I don’t know who you think you are, but how about you just scurry along now.”
“How about YOU scurry on back to Filthadelphia with the rest of your Cryers team and learn to respect a lady,” Jamie said as she swung her fist at Claude Giroux’s face hitting him right in the nose. She felt the bone crunch and heard him cry in pain before she ran out of that scene.
“Did you really just do that?” Tuukka asked.
“Yes, he needed to learn to respect a lady.”
“Jamielyn Marie Carolyn Jokinen, you did not just punch a NHL star in the face!” Malik yelled.
“Ease up Malik,” Tuukka said, “He did deserve it. Besides only so many other players can and will do something like that and we all wanted to tell him that at least once, mostly Pittsburghers.”
“See I’m the only one who has the guts to do it though.”
It was on of the best things I ever decided to do. I don’t regret it at all.
