The Hockey Boys & Me

Chapter 6

"Alli!"
"Georgie!" We ran into each other's arms in the middle of the airport. It's been nearly a year that we've been apart, and I couldn't be happier that she's back!
"I don't get a hug?" Gavin joked from behind us. Georgie immediately let go of me, and jumped into Gavin's arms. He picked her up and spun her around, planting a kiss on her lips. Brayden stood next to me, smiling happily down at me. He slipped an arm around my waist as I leaned into him.
When they ended their moment, Georgie wiggled her eyebrows at Brayden and I.
A long talk was awaiting me at home!
--
"So that's the boyfriend?" Brayden and Gavin had gone downstairs where some of the guys were. They had given us time to talk, which was greatly needed.
"I um..." We are not 'officially' dating. "I mean, he's not my official boyfriend..." I shook my head.
"He hasn't asked you!" She exclaimed. "Are you two f*cking then?" My eyes widened like saucers, and my head shook fiercely.
"So...you're just friends that make out a lot?" She teased, laughing a bit.
"I guess so..." I felt weird about Brayden and I, after realizing that we really couldn't be called anything.
--
Later that afternoon, I kept my promise to Brayden, that I would make him dinner at his apartment. Claude was gone as usual. Brayden told me he would probably be doing one of four things:
1. Working out
2. Eating at his favorite café
3. Trying to pick up girls
4. Bothering Danny
I found his short list to really contain everything about Claude's life that you needed to know, well besides the hockey part.
"What are you making me?" Brayden came up from behind me, wrapping his long arms around my waist. I was standing next to the stove, cooking pasta.
"Fettuccine Alfredo and chicken Parmesan." I answered him happily, smiling when he reached down to kiss my cheek.
"Sounds great."
About a half an hour later, the two of us were cuddled up on the couch, eating dinner and watching Iron Man.
"It's delicious." Brayden said for about the fourth time.
"It is." I agreed, smiling while Robert Downey Jr. blew up everything in his path.
So your parents are in New York?" Brayden asked once he returned to couch, after bringing our plants to the sink.
"Yeah, Mom left yesterday." I nodded, watching Brayden's smile grow.
"You can stay the night here, then, if you want I mean." Brayden seemed excited, but I wasn't.
"Brayden what do you think I am?" My question caught him off guard. "I'm not some play-thing for you! I'm not your f*ck buddy, or your friend with benefits." He wanted me to stay the night? Are you kidding!?
"Allison, when did I ever say that?" He was genuinely confused.
"You didn't have to."
"Then where is this coming from?" His voice rose a bit, but it was still soft.
"Where? Brayden we aren't anything besides friends! And you just asked me to stay the night!"
"What do you mean we aren't anything?" He asked softly, but the bitterness was so clear it his voice it was like venom.
"I mean exactly what I said." I crossed my arms over my chest.
"Allison, I want us to be so much more, and I wanted to, I mean tomorrow, we...Tomorrow you and I..." Brayden stopped, trying to get her the right words. "I've been planning a date for you and I, for tomorrow...I've asked your brother and Claude for help, and you've just caught me really of guard, Alli. I never meant anything by you staying the night. I just don't want you to go home. I want to hold you all night long, knowing I have someone that really likes me, the way I like you." Brayden shoo his head slowly. "I'm sorry." He let out a long, ragged breath.
My eyes sunk to the floor, realizing how wrong I was. "No, Bray, I'm sorry. I over-thought it."
"We're both wrong, let's just go with that." He gave me a small smile. I sat back down on the couch and curled up into Brayden's side.
"I'll stay." I said softly. Brayden's face lit up.
"You will?" He asked excitedly.
"Yes." I giggled at his excitement. Brayden pulled me close, squeezing me affectionately with obviously no intentions of letting me go.
After watching an hour or so of late night television, we went to bed. Brayden gave me his 'Brandon Wheat Kings' t-shirt and a pair of sweatpants. He stood next to the bed when I got out of his bathroom, in nothing, except his red and gray plaid boxers.
"You look great in my clothes." Brayden nearly whispered, sucking in a deep great.
"And you look stunning in nearly nothing." I smirked, placing my hands on his well-built arms, dragging them down slowly to his hands.
"What side of the bed do you sleep on?" He cleared his throat, staring deeply into my eyes.
"Close to whichever side you sleep on." I told him flirtatiously. He groaned a bit, and latched his lips onto my own. Brayden put his hands on the underside of my thighs, then lifted me up while I wrapped my legs around his waist. He walked slowly over to the bed, before laying me down gently, with his lips still on mine.
"You may be a little addicting, Allison Cosey." Brayden teased, rubbing his nose against mine in an Eskimo kiss. I tried to keep my schoolgirl giggling to a minimum, but it didn't work well.
"You're cute." He added, his smile somehow grew, and I don't know if I've ever seen a hockey player so happy!
"I know." I answered cockily. Brayden let out a deep laugh at my rebuttal. Bray rolled off of me, landing directly next to me, and them returned his arms to my waist. I put my head on his chest, which I now deemed my favorite place to put my head. I let out a yawn, trying to cover it up, but Bray still noticed.
"Tired?" He asked gently.
"A little bit." I let out a deep sigh, feeling very content.
"Goodnight Alli."
"Night Bray." He reached down and left me a lingering kiss on the forehead, but then I was out, like getting a puck to the head.
--
Brayden was leaving a trail of light kisses down my neck when I woke up.
"Morning." He said, with a very sexy morning voice.
"Good morning to you too." I answered, probably smirking, but I wasn't even close to a functioning level. Brayden's teeth lightly grazed part of my neck, and I let out a gasp.
"Hungry?" He asked teasingly.
"Yes, very hungry." I may have sounded a bit seductive, but it wasn't intentional. Brayden let out a deep groan, almost close to a growl.
"I can make pancakes." He said weakly.
"Only if you promise to keep your shirt off." I was purposely pushing him, seeing how weak I could actually get him.
"Deal...If you stay in my clothes." Of course he would add his own clause! I nodded in agreement, not having a single problem with it. His clothes were comfy!
Claude and Brayden's kitchen was small, so small that with Bray and I could barely fit. I mixed the batter while he pulled out the pan, turned on the stove and found two plates. When they were finished, I grabbed maple syrup and orange juice from the fridge. While I gave Brayden his share of the sugary maple substance, he poured us two glasses of orange juice.
We settled on the couch, like last night, and watched the Sunday morning news.
"Is your practice optional today?" I asked Brayden, really hoping that it was.
"Yes. I'm not going."
"Good." I said quietly, thoroughly happy that he wasn't going.
"But, you see, I have plans tonight for me and this really cute girl." He smirked, teasing a bit, but I knew exactly what he was saying.
"I need to change then." He nodded, understanding that wearing his clothes, or my dirty clothes from yesterday wasn't exactly what I was looking forward to.
--
When Brayden brought me home, Gavin and Georgie were there, and it was apparent that she hadn't gone home either.
"You going somewhere with Little Schenn?" Gavin asked while he cooked eggs in his boxers in the kitchen.
"Yeah, but I think you know more about it than I do!" I yelled at him him accusingly.
"Sorry, but your soon-to-be-boyfriend isn't romantic at all." Gavin threw his hands up, like he had no choice but to help him.
"Well, thanks I guess." I waved my hand dismissively, unsure of how to take his help.
I ran upstairs to my bedroom, all of a sudden realizing that I had absolutely no clue what to wear.
"Gavin!" I screamed from where I stood, just outside my bedroom.
"What!?" He yelled back.
"The hell am I supposed to wear!?"
"Warm and cute!" Georgie answered, but she still yelled.
I rummaged through my closet, and found a new scarf that I wanted to wear before I found anything else to go with my outfit. I pulled out a pair of black leggings and a light rose pink colored sweater with a cowl neck. I slipped on a pair of chestnut colored Uggs and decided to curl my hair.
Georgie stood at my doorway, watching me while I curled it.
"Looks good." She said.
"Thanks. So, you and Gavin are all good?" I smirked at her, feeling like I had a decent guess as to how they spent last night. Her cheeks flushed before she nodded slowly.
"It's about time!" I exclaimed, and we both ended up laughing.
Moments later, a car pulled up the driveway, the doorbell was ringing, and Gavin was shouting at me to get downstairs. I waved goodbye to Georgie, gave the usual nod to Gavin and met Brayden at the door.
"Hey." His eyes raked over my body, up and down. He had a bouquet of around a dozen white roses in his hands. He handed then to me wordlessly, and I knew my goofy grin probably matched his own.
"You remembered." I said softly, also slightly surprised.
"Of course I did." He said it like it was nothing. Knowing that he really pays attention to what I say creates a feeling in my stomach like no other. I left the flowers in a vase on the kitchen counter and then Brayden and I hopped in his car.
"Are you going to tell me where we're going this time?" I teased him, but it didn't really matter if he did or not.
"Nope." He popped the 'p', and shook his head. "I like seeing your face when you're surprised."

Notes
