Talking Bodies

It’s been a week since Veronica’s break- up, which means it’s also been a week since my hook – up with mystery man, and I still haven’t received a call. I just about gave up hope as I sat on my couch and flipped through the channels on my television, not really in the mood to go out and I was just with Jamie last night so I knew he wouldn’t be calling tonight.

I just settled on a channel when my phone vibrated from where it rested on the coffee table. The screen lite up as an unknown number flashed across the screen. A smile slid across my face as I leaned forward and snatched the phone.

I let it ring one more time before I picked it up, I didn’t want to sound too desperate, even if I was.

“Hello.”

“Mary?” A voice replied, a voice I would have recognized, even if he didn’t use the fake name I gave him a week ago.

“Yes,” I smiled to myself, but didn’t want him to know I remembered him, he already had too big of an ego, “and who is this?”

“Tyler,” he swallowed, “we meet a last week at Hopper’s.”

“Hopper’s,” I pretended to think about it a minute, before I replied, “the guy with the tattoos?”

“Yes,” he took a deep breath, “would you like to come over.”

“I’m actually in the middle of something right now;” I bite my lip, hoping he didn’t see through my lie, and how turned on he made me over the phone. “Can you give me about a half hour?”

“I’ll be waiting.” He didn’t even give me a chance to reply before he hung up the phone.

Five weeks had gone by and I kept seeing Jamie every other day, and Tyler once in awhile. Last night I arrived at Tyler’s house and we haven’t seen each other for a week so we had some catching up to do. Flashbacks form last night went by in my head.

I increased the intensity, stroking my tongue against his quickly but the angle, though, was frustrating and I needed more of him. He had a strange affect on me and turned me on just by looking at me. I straddled him and locked my arms together around his neck.

I started to pump my hips slightly against him and it drove him wild, drawing a deep groan from his throat. He brought both hands to my thighs, just above my kneecaps. Tyler moved his hands higher on my smooth thighs. My moaning became more intense, his kiss more frantic.

He used this weight to go even deeper inside of me drawing circles with his hips and making me rowdy with passion. I grabbed his massive biceps, squeezing him and holding on.

I was so deep in my thoughts about my steamy night that I didn’t even realize that I’m not in my own bed. It wasn’t until I heard a noise next to me that I woke up for real. I looked over and saw him, his messy brown hair and his beard that made him even sexier like that was even possible.

‘’Damn it…’’ I murmured to myself when I saw Tyler open his eyes. My rule is to not be here when they wake up, it’s just awkward. It’s so much easier to just leave when they’re still sleeping.

‘’Morning’’ He said with a raspy voice and put his arm around me as he struggled with keeping his eyes fully open.

I just stared into the ceiling trying to make up an excuse to get the hell out of here.

‘’So… I need to go.’’ I pushed his arm of me and got up from bed trying to find all my clothes that were spread around the floor.

‘’It’s so early just come back in bed for a minute’’ He whined and but I ignored him and started to get dressed.

‘’No I have overstayed my welcome, but I will see you around.’’ I looked around the room to find my phone and my keys.

‘’Do you want to come back tonight?’’ He looked at me as I desperately searched for my stuff.

‘’I have to check my schedule..’’ That was such a bad lie. I had an amazing night with Tyler like always but right now I couldn’t focus on anything but to get out of here. Tyler chuckled, totally saw through my lie. He handed me my phone and my keys, surprised that he found them before me I grabbed them. Tyler grabbed my forearm and looked into my eyes.

‘’Last night was amazing, I will call you later this week or something.’’ He said and let my arm go.

‘’I know I’m great in bed, see you around Ty.’’ I walked out of his room and out of his house. I got into my car and sighed. What a strange and awkward morning, I’m great at socializing at night but not in the morning.

When I got to my apartment I turned on my TV and sat down in my couch. I’m not leaving this couch all day I thought to myself while sweeping through channels. Many people would probably call me a slut, hell even my best friends do. But I like my life as it is, it’s easy and not messy with tons of drama. I mean look at Victoria, she’s heartbroken about her ex which she wouldn’t be if they didn’t make it so serious. The boyfriend girlfriend thing can only go one way in the end and that’s downhill. Someone will always get their heartbroken in a relationship so my way of doing things is much more safe.

I was about to doze off when I heard my phone vibrating. I sighed and picked it up to see that Jamie had texted me. To be honest, I usually never say no to Jamie but right now I’m sore from my night with Tyler and I’m too tired for my own good. I read the text:

‘’Are you free right now? I have an hour to kill.’’ - Jamie.
‘’No, sorry. I’m busy right now, rain-check?’’
‘’Uh, fine. Let me know if you change your mind.’’ - Jamie.

I didn’t feel the need to answer his last text instead I got up from the couch to pour me a cup of coffee. I could just take one sip before my phone rang, another sigh left my mouth before I answered it.

‘’Beth, are you coming to practice later?’’ It was Karen and I could hear that she was a little out of breath, probably just finished her morning run. Karen is such a crazy person in my eyes, we’re total opposites.

‘’Yeah I will be there. Hey, we should have movie night tonight, I’m all alone tonight without any plans.’’ I took another sip while waiting for her to answer.

‘’Sure, let’s do this. We practice, you go home and shower and then you come over to our place?’’ Karen had a plan for everything, such a control freak.

‘’Sounds good, see you later K.’’

‘’Goodbye Beth.’’ She hung up and I finished my coffee in front of the TV.
