Maggie's POV

Tommy was my backup date for things, as long as they didn't collide with the hockey season. One of my cousins got married in June and as to be expected, Tommy was my date. And my family was chirping me about not dating him saying things like "he's such a nice boy" and something along the lines of "you'll miss him when he's dating other girls". It was my cousin, whose sister was the cousin that got married, told me at the reception that Tom looks at me the way that his sister and his new brother-in-law looks at each other. I was done eating my cake and that was when Tommy came over and said "Babe, put your shoes on. You owe me a dance" "I'll dance, but I'm leaving my shoes off. I'm dangerous in heels'' "Doll, you are dangerous in your Chucks" he said helping me up. "Die a Happy Man" came on the speakers and I was humming along and Tom looked at me and smiled. "Is any of that true?" I asked, talking about the lyrics. And instead of answering me, he kissed me and we heard cheers coming from my family. "You know what you got yourself into when we first met" I told him and he started laughing. We stopped dancing when Tom declared that he was hungry. That was when my mom came to talk to me about not wearing my shoes when dancing with Tom and I saw that daddy was talking to Tom, who was getting some mashed potatoes. "Sir, I will never disrespect your daughter in any way, shape, or form. She has been my longest relationship, if that's what you want to call it" "I know that, son. Just promise me one thing though- take care of her when you two are in the same region or close to each other. I've seen her heartbroken before and I don't want to see her go through that with you" "Sir, I don't plan on breaking her heart. I know that if I do, hell will freeze over and you, Pete, and my brothers will beat my ass. "Good. We just want to see her happy" "I know sir, I do too." And I didn't know it at the time, but Tom declared that one day, he was going to marry me.
Present day
Maggie's POV
I had Braxton hicks, so I got sent back home. I guess I fell asleep in our bed and woke up with Tommy underneath my legs. When he's not here, I either sleep on his side of the bed or sideways and in his shirt. "Hey" I said, groggily. "Hey yourself. Guess baby Wilson decided not to come yet?" "No, not yet. Baby Willy is making it hard to sleep. I can't move, I waddle when I walk and it takes me, like, 30 minutes to walk somewhere. I forgot what my feet look like since its been months since I was last able to look at them. What are you doing here?" I asked "The coaches told me to get my ass here since the baby is bound to be due any day now." "Tommy, I'm scared" "Why?" "Because it will be my first baby. I'm scared that I'll be a bad mom" "Don't you dare say that. I've seen you with my teammates babies and both of our little cousins. You are going to be a great mom" he said helping me up so I would be in his arms. "Daddy and our families are going to be here when the baby come, they said that it was non-optional." "I want to tell you something" "There's nothing stopping you" "Remember when your dad was talking to me after we kissed at your cousins wedding?" "Yeah" "I asked your dad for his permission to marry you back then" "Tommy, we were 18. You knew that you were gonna marry me back then?" "Hell yeah I did. I knew because I got all over-protective when I saw a guy at school check you out or if a teammate, either my teammate or an opposing teammate, would look at you I got all angry. "Baby, you are the longest relationship that I ever had that wasn't a family member. And all I can say is I am so glad I kissed you" "Ouch" "What's wrong?" "Contraction, I have an app on my phone"
