Im in Love with a Broad Street Bully

The next day it was a little colder than usual so instead of just throwing a simple hoodie on I found myself bundling a little more than usual. Walking out of my apartment I texted Dani telling her I’d meet her outside of the lecture hall and that I was running a little late making my way out of the building Baxter, the front deskman stopped me, “Ms. Walker! You received a package yesterday I was meaning to give it to you, but you didn’t come in I guess till after I clocked out for the night.” He stated lifting a small box on to the counter. Nodding I quickly went to grab the box “Its perfectly fine Baxter, I had dinner last night with my parents and didn’t get back till later, I cant have Pricilla angry for keeping her hubby away.” I said smiling at the older man before waving and briskly walking away.
Sliding into the lecture hall I found Dani in her usual spot “Hey sorry the traffic coming in was horrible.” I complained sitting down stripping off some of my layers “No problem, you haven’t missed much. How was dinner with your parents?” she asked typing up something on her laptop. Pulling out my own I started it up punching in my passcode I turned towards her “It was good! They know about Sean and at first they were doubtful, but after a call to Sean it changed their mind.” I smiled turning picking up my phone I pressed the lock button seeing the picture Sean caught the night before of me kissing his cheek smiling, I turned towards Dani who had seen the screen “We also made it official last night and he wants me to meet his parents.” I said ducking my head trying to hide the small blush.
Dani squealed tapping my arm “Oh! Well let me be the first of the friend group to say Im so happy for you Sean seems like a great guy. You’ll have to bring him around sometime for a hockey night when hes not playing.” She said turning back in her seat picking up her phone “Im telling Mikey.” She whispered as our journalism professor walked in.
After he set up his stuff he went to the white board and started writing one word that we all dreaded INTERSHIPS! A whole wave of groans rolled through the room “Oh common guys its not that bad! Lets just start today with where we’d like to start an intership.” Mr. O’Connor called out looking at all of us “Come on guys don’t make me call you all out to start the conversation.” He pleaded and was reluctantly met with a few hands in the air “Walker where would you like to intern at?” he asked leaning against his desk crossing his arms, looking up from my laptop I pushed my glasses up my nose “Uh, well I already have a job set up for after school but maybe NHL or with the Flyers.” I said laughing a bit looking over at Dani who giggled with me. Nodding he walked back around his desk and started the lecture oh where we should be looking and applying.

Getting back into the apartment later that I night Dani followed me in with Mikey in tow. “I love hockey nights!” Mikey cheered walking over towards the couch sitting down turning the tv on putting on NBCSN settling down into the chair “Dani bring out the dip and chips!” he yelled from his spot on the couch. Me and Dani stood in the kitchen looking from Mikey to each other laughing and shaking our heads. “You grab that and give it to him then come back I need help getting other stuff done before a couple more people show up.” I ordered turning towards my crock pot turning it on then making my way towards the fridge.
“So who else is coming tonight?” Dani asked walking back into the kitchen pulling out a cutting board. “Uh Jack and Lisa, and Mark.” I rattled off pulling out the left over pulled pork and some veggies for Dani to cut “Mark? From mass media Mark?” she questioned taking the veggies from me. “Yes, Mark from mass media he always comes to these things Dani.” I answered putting the pork in the pot turning toward her. “Is that a problem this time around?” I pestered. Dani shrugged grabbing a knife and started to cut the celery “No just the fact that he’s had the hots for you since freshmen year and you are now in a relationship.” She reasoned I shrugged “It’ll be fine babe just relax.” A promised
Once everyone came over we settled down to watch the game I sent a text to Sean while we waited for the pregame show to end:
Maxie: Good luck tonight babe, I’ll be watching!
“Who are you texting Maxie?” Lisa asked sitting down next to me and Dani “Uh someone special.” I replied “Her boyfriend!” Dani added in teasingly as the game started. Grabbing my beer Lisa whacked my arm “Boyfriend?! Whose the lucky fella?” she asked as they showed Sean “Him.” I said proudly nodding toward the screen. “Horse shit!” she exclaimed looking from the screen to me but after showing her my phone she started giggling happy to be in the know.
-skip to after the game-
As everyone gathered their things to leave I started to clean up around the apartment. “See you guys later! Be safe going home!” I called after to everyone and received a chorus of bye’s. Walking back out to my living room I saw Mark standing by the door putting his shoes on “Oh, Mark I thought you left with everyone else.” I stated brushing my hands off on my pants walking around the room shooing the dogs that had joined us during the game back to their room. “Yeah, no I had to call my roommate let him know that I was on the way back so he clears out the room.” He said smacking his hands together “Hey, Max uh can I ask you something?” he questioned leaning against the door. I looked up from grabbing trash off the coffee table “Yeah sure.” I answered.
“Uh well Ive liked you for a while now and was wondering if you wanted to go out to dinner later this week?” he asked me as he fumbled with his keys. I bit my lip as he confessed his feelings “Well, Mark I actually have a boyfriend now, so Im gonna have to say no, Im sorry I really am.” I apologized scratching my head. “Boyfriend?” he questioned letting out a sigh. “Yeah, it just happened recently actually.” I replied taking things to the trash then walking by out I watched him walk out the door without a goodbye. As the door shut my phone started ringing look at the caller id I smiled picking it up “Hey babe..”
