Four Years Later (Squeal to My New Life)

It has been a week since Rebecca went home from the hospital. The guys were hand and foot for Rebecca for almost everything. It was driving Rebecca crazy. James was on the couch with Rebecca and they were watching the last hobbit movie together while Sid was cooking dinner and Mike was playing with Kaley. When Rebecca got up from the couch James was trying to help her up.
“James!” Rebecca yelled and cover her face.
“Sorry, I think I can now get off the couch by myself now since it’s been a week. But thank you.” Rebecca walked over to the kitchen to see how Sid was doing with the whole cooking.
“Is everything alright?”
“Yeah I just needed to tell you something.”
“Sure?”
“I think that you need to be James’ wingman.”
“I though Geno is his wingman?”
“I have no clue but while we were talking he told me that he wanted the same thing that we have. I know you guys played last night against the panthers and your next game is tomorrow night against the Sharks. Kaley will be spending the next over at Letang’s house. I will have the house all to my self. Go out with the guys and help James out and Mike but just don’t tell them about this.”
“But how am I going to tell him that I want to go out. They know me by now that I want to get home so I could tell Kaley goodnight and be with you.”
“Well tell them that Kaley will be with the Letang’s and that I need a man free night. Just one night, that’s all I ask. That includes Mike to. Mike needs a girl also.”
“He has Kaley.” Sid smiled. Rebecca hit Sid on the shoulder.
“I mean the same age kinda of girl, Sid.” Rebecca rolled her eyes.
“Are you sure that Kaley got the eye roller from you of James?”
“I got it from James last week.”

Rebecca was counting down the hours when Kaley will be at Letang’s place, the boys will be at CEC playing against the sharks. That mean she will have the house all to herself. She hasn’t remember the last time since she had the house to herself. She was watching the game while thinking of if they were going to have a boy. All the stuff that Sid would do for the boy. That he’s the prince of hockey since Sidney is the face of the NHL. After the game she made sure that Sid and the boys will stay out from a big win. When she got a text back from Sid that they will get home around 1 or 2 than. Rebecca though a nice warm bath will help her even more on her night in.

As the boys went out to celebrate the big win tonight. Sid told James and Mike that he can’t go home till after midnight. Geno wished he could have come but Anna was sick and he wanted to be home with her. They walked into the club and the everyone was dancing, having a great time. It’s been a while since Sid has been out at the clubs for so long. They all sat down at a both while Mike was getting everyone their drinks order. Sid was sitting next to James trying to find a girl for him.
“How about her?” Sid pointed out a girl sitting by herself drinking a beer.
“I don’t kno— what are you trying to do?” James had one of his eyebrows in the air.
“Rebecca wanted me to be your wingman tonight so she can have the house to herself. I think she’s cute beside I think you should go a little darker on life.” James got off of the booth and walked over to the girl at the bar. Now Sid was sitting alone at the booth with his phone in his hand.
Sid: Found someone for James
Rebecca: Already? That was quick.
Sid looked up from his phone and check to see how things are going with James. They were having a nice talk, laughing, he was smiling from ear to ear.
Rebecca: Found anyone for Mike yet?
Sid forgot about Mike because Mike was going to get them drinks. But never showed back to the booth. Looking around for Mike he found him talking to a women with red hair.
Sid: He found someone by himself. So now can I come home please? I feel so old.
When Rebecca got the last text she was laughing on hard that she almost dropped her phone in the bathtub with her.
Rebecca: Sure I’ll be in the bathtub when you get home.
Sid: Save some room for me and some hot water.


Today was Rebecca’s store opening and all of the Penguins were there, friends and family came down to see the store. Even James brought the girl that he’s been seeing for the past two weeks. James can’t stop talking about Sarah since that night. He had showed Rebecca all of the text they would have back and forth. Rebecca couldn’t wait to met this Sarah. Mike was seeing that girl to from the club. But he doesn’t talk about his personal life to a lot of people. He doesn’t know when to tell Rebecca about her. All she knows that she has red hair and loves corgis. Mike’s girl won’t be coming today because she was out of town. Going to Cincinnati for her job.
Cutting the ribbon was so much fun for Rebecca because she wasn’t the only one that cut the ribbon it was Sid and Kaley to cut it. During the opening party Rebecca was talking to Sarah the whole time. Then Sid came in to their little group carrying Kaley.
“Rebecca?” Sid got her attention.
“Is someone getting tired?” Rebecca push some of Kaley’s hair out of the way.
“No I think she’s getting sick. So I am going to take her home while you stay here.”
“Ok, Thanks.” Rebecca sick Kaley’s forehead, told her that she loved her and they left. Rebecca didnt stay that long at her store. When she got home, she knows that Kaley needs her right now and she’s been thourgh this before. Walking into the kitchen Sid was sitting in the living room with Kaley on his lap. She drop her things on the kitchen island and went into the living room.
“How she’s now?” Rebecca place her hand on her forehead.
“I don’t she hasn’t change since we got home. I think we need to take her to the hospital now.” Rebecca agree with Sid.
As Sid and Rebecca were in the waiting room, Rebecca couldn’t stop laughing at what’s is thinking.
“What are you laughing about over there?”
“Oh it’s just we can’t never leave the hospital more than a month. I’m surprise that we aren’t living in the hospital.” Sid agree with that.

Later on that day that found out the Kaley had strep throat. They didn’t know where she got it from. Maybe school, friends or someone’s house. Rebecca remember that Anna was sick a couple of weeks ago and they hearing it from Kris that Alex was sick last week. So it finally Kaley’s turn to have it. When James and Mike found out what happen to her. They went to Toy R Us and bought a lot of teddy bears for her room.
While Kaley was sleeping, Sid was training at the CEC and Rebecca was just watching a show there was a knock on the door. When she open the door it was Mike with another gift for Kaley.

“I don’t think that Kaley needs another stuff penguin.” Mike was still holding the penguin.
“But this penguin has my number on it see.” Mike turn the penguin over and it had the number 52 on the back. They walked into the kitchen.
“So why aren’t you at CEC?”
“It was optional practice. Beside I just had lunch with Hazel.” Now that got Rebecca’s attention.
“Who’s Hazel?”
“This girl that I have been seeing.” Mike couldn’t get the smile off of his face.
“So this is the girl that you have been seeing. Is this the one at the club a couple of weeks ago.Tell me what is she like?”
“Well, she is amazing girl other than you and Kaley. She works for the Steelers.”
“Wow that’s a great job. So that’s why she was in Cincinnati last Sunday.”
“She used to be a ice skater but her broke her ankle and she wanted to get out of that lifestyle. So she pack up her stuff, move from Washington DC to here in Pittsburgh. So I could have pass by her when I was there. It’s a small world out there Rebecca. She is also the only sister out of four brothers to, the youngest.”
“Yep I know that.” Mike didn’t stay that long because he has to get ready for his date with Hazel. When Sid got home he sat on the couch with Rebecca.
“How’s Kaley?”
“She’s sleeping right now but Mike stop by.”
“I was wondering where he was. Did he bring another gift for Kaley?”
“Yea he did and it was a penguin this time but we talked, I think he has a girlfriend now.”
“Did he tell you about this girl?”
“Yea it was the girl from the club that you guys went to. Her name is Hazel and she works for the Steelers. So she’s always travels with the team.” Sid nodded his head.
“Want to watch a movie with me after I check on Kaley.” Sid got up from the couch and headed to Kaley’s room. Rebecca was happy that Sid would do anything for his daughter.
“Sure I’ll pick out the movie. Do you have anything movie you want to see?”
“Not really.” Sid sticks his head out of the doorway. Rebecca went to their huge bookshelf to see what movie that she wanted to watch. She hasn’t watch this movie in a long time.
“Kaley just woke up, I gave her some of her medicine and out in Frozen for her. So what are we watching?”
“The Faults in Our Stars.”
“Ok let me get the tissues then.” Sid rolled his eyes. No matter how many time Rebecca will watch this movie she always cries. But Sid loved it about Rebecca that he has a kind heart for that movie.
“James in coming over to have dinner with us.”
“Is Sarah coming with him?”
“I think so but I didn’t ask James. Kaley will be in her room for the rest of the night anyway. I should give her a bath before they come over.”
“So what does Sarah do for a living?”
“Did James told you?” Sid shook his head.
“Sarah is a photographer, she takes pictures of all of the games everywhere around Pittsburgh, so some of the Penguins, Pirates, Steelers and Panthers games. She was at the game that night when James met her.”
“Have you seen any of her photos?”
“I tired but I don’t know her last name so it was hard goggling her first name.”

When Rebecca heard the doorbell she was giving Kaley a bath. Sid grab the door letting James and Sarah in. It took another 20 minutes to get Kaley dries, dress and put back to bed. Rebecca put another movie in. As Rebecca got into the kitchen Sid has already got the wine and beer out of them. She grab herself a water. James was giving her a weird look because he knew that she wouldn’t miss drinking her favorite wine.
“So Sid and I have some news. You guys are the first people to know about this. Don’t tell anyone else but we are having another baby.” James couldn’t get the smile off of his face.
“I’m going to be an uncle again.” He came over and gave them both a hug.
“That’s why you went with the water. I was confused for a second because you love your wine.”
Sid and Sarah were talking about her job. Rebecca was talking to James.
“So I found out the girl that Mike has been seeing.”
“Really who is she?”
“Her name is Hazel and she works for the Steelers.” Then James face fell a little.
“What do you know her?”
“Well I use to dated her.”
“Wow, what happen?”
“She just remind me a lot of you.”
“How so?”
“Well she used to be a ice skater, has four brothers and move somewhere else after she broke her ankle. Does it ring any bells.” It did when James told her the keys parts of what Mike told her.
“Should I tell him or what should I do.”
“I think you shouldn't tell him because than he will say no.”
“Ok, thanks James."
