Four Years Later (Squeal to My New Life)

In the morning Rebecca couldn’t stop thinking of what James told her last night that Hazel is just like her. She text Mike if he wanted to grab coffee before they leave for Buffalo. As Rebecca was getting ready to have coffee with Mike. Sid was getting Kaley ready for school. Sid loves doing this before he leave for town to play another game against another team. It’s more time he spends with Kaley.
“OK, Kaley is ready for school. Why are you getting all dress up for?”
“Oh, I’m going to have coffee with Mike before you guys go to Buffalo.” Sid gave her a weird look.
“James told me a lot about Hazel last night.”
“Good stuff?”
“No weird stuff, that Hazel is like a twin of me. She has done almost what I have done.”
“That is weird.”
“So I wanted to tell Mike and just to make sure that he knows. Do you want to take Kaley to school?”
“I would love to.” Sid kiss her temple and headed back into the kitchen.

As Rebecca was pulling up to the Starbucks that Mike texted her. He was standing next to his car texting on his phone. When he heard the door slam shut, he looked up and had his cute smile going on.
“I bet that you are texting Hazel right now.” He did a fake shocking breath.
“Oh could you tell.” Being sarcasm about it. She gave him a hug. They walked into the Starbucks, got their drinks and sat down. Mike was laughing at a text that Hazel has send him.
“What are you laughing about?” Rebecca lean over on the table to get a good look on Mike’s phone.
“Oh Hazel has send me a picture of a dog being funny. I remember you sending me funny pictures of anything after a lost.”
“Mike I invited you to starbucks because I need to talked to you about something.” That got Mike attention.
“Yea what’s going on?”
“So I had James and Sarah over last night to have a dinner night. I was talking to James and I told him about Hazel. He told me that he used to date James.”
“I know.”
“You know?”
“Yea we told each other who we have dated that still in our lives.”
“Oh, but did she tell you why they broke up?”
“No, why do I need to know that?” Rebecca was now playing with her cup.
“Rebecca what did James told you.”
“The reason that he broke up with her was that she’s just like me in every way.” Mike laid back into his chair.
“So what are you thinking when he told you that?”
“That your still in love with me and you need someone that is just like me.”
“That’s bullshit.” Mike whisper to Rebecca.
“It’s so not. Mike I know that your still in love with me and I am fine with that.”
“You are?”
“Yes I want people to like or love me. Not hate and want to hurt me or my family. I mean I am so glad that you have found someone but it’s still weird.”
“Thanks Rebecca but I love you but I’m not in love with you.”
“Thank you. Also I have some big news.”
“What’s that?”
“Sid and I are going to have another child.” It took a second for Mike to hear that.
“That’s great to hear.” Rebecca knew that he was lying but she didn’t want to mess everything up. They talked a little bit more till Mike looked at the clock and he had to get going.

When Rebecca was picking up Kaley from school. While she was waiting for Kaley she talked to Sid’s parents and her about the big news. They were both happy for them and they can’t wait for the second one to come. Then she got a text from Sid that he told the whole team and they are very happy for us. Rebecca looked up from her phone and she could see Kaley running to her.
“Kaley I have some big news for you.”
“Are we going to Disney world?!”
“No honey but you are going to be a big sister.” Kaley didn’t say anything.
“When is daddy coming home?”
“He’s in Buffalo right now but he will be home in a couple of days. But we can call him in the morning.” Kaley nodded his head.

It was now the weekend and Sid will be coming home soon. Rebecca needed Sid right now because Kaley has been acting up since she told her that she’s going to be a big sister. Hearing the door open she jumped off the couch and run over to Sid.
“Wow I was only gone for four days.”
“I know but I need your help on this one. I told Kaley and I think she’s not liking this at all. Could you talk to her?”
“Sure, where is she?”
“I think in her room.” Sid walked in Kaley’s room and she was watching tv.
“Knock knock.” Sid said and Kaley’s eyes light up.
“Daddy!” She ran up to him and gave him a big hug.
“Kaley, I need to talk to you about something. I heard that you aren’t happy that you are going to be a big sister. When I heard that I was going to be a big brother I was happy.”
“But I, know when baby comes more time with baby than me.”
“No that won’t be true at all. I would love both of you the same and no matter what I will make time just for us when we needed. Take a break from the baby, how’s that ?” Kaley nodded her head. Sid kiss her cheek and went back to the living room.
