Chapter 14

The next morning Sid woke up to go with Geno he know today would definitely be another test He had gotten a shower and gotten dressed

Cassie started to wake up he saw this and says “Go back to sleep”

"You sure” Cassie says

“Yeah I am going to go find out what I can do and what I can't do for now it will be ok” Sid says to Cassie

“Ok you need me to pick you up since your riding with Geno” she asks

“No if he can't bring me home Pascal will he going to be with me today when we figure out the plan and once I know better we will talk about it once I am home” Sid says

“Ok just take it easy and listen to them please” Cassie says

“I will baby now really you been worrying for couple days just lay down and get some sleep please” he says kissing her

“I think I can manage that I know you are in good hands” Cassie says

“He is” Geno says from the door way

"I know Geno thanks Cassie says “No problem ready” he said to Sid

"Yeah ready as I can be to figure out where to go next” Sid says as they go to leave Cassie laid back down to try to sleep a little Longer

As they headed to the practice rink Geno says “you nervous”

" Of course I am G this will tell me what I can do and you know that's going to be hard not doing much right now plus it's killing me to know I can't play Thursday” Sid says

“I know” Geno says

"Then there the media which I don't always mind but I have a feeling today I am going to have to try not to lose it on them cause they going to bring World Cup up” Sid says

"Screw it if do know it didn't happen there”Geno says

“I know” Sid says but he knows that's what everyone thinking They get to the rink and head in they had a little time Pascal was there to meet them

“Boy have story for you” Geno says to Pascal

"Oh god” Pascal says wondering what Geno had gotten himself into

"G not here not now” Sid says

“Promised tell him today” Geno says

"Fine but some place it's just us three” Sid says

They find a spot and Pascal says “ok out with it “

"He realized he dumb and you right on Cassie” Geno says

“Thanks G “ Sid says

"It true captain dumb on this “ Geno says

"Wait hold up I was right you do have feeling so her and you told him” Pascal says pointing to Geno

"Well I was going to tell you too last night but I didn't want you to have to come back to the house and yes you were right” Sid says

“Gets better” Geno says laughing

“Someone care to tell me why” Pascal says

"I told her and we both feel the same way” Sid says

“About damn time thank god “ Pascal says

“Well I had to threaten him he didn't tell I tell her anyways” Geno says

"Good strategy there G like that” Pascal says

“Thank you” Geno says

“So does this mean you two are finally together” Pascal asks


“Yeah now me and you can talk on way home about this cause we need to meet medical staff and trainers and find out what I can and can't do and the plan” Sid says


They met with them today he wasn't going to skate they said If balance seems ok the next day and he felt up to it try skating some and how it goes it just going to be day by day how he felt and what he could do without feeling poorly


Now he was waiting to talk to the media and he didn't want to do this he was worried he was going to lose it First they went through everything then the media was allowed to ask questions

“Is this something that could have happen at World Cup of hockey” one asks He knew it was coming

"no it didn't happen at anytime during World Cup” Sid says

“Well then how and when did it happen” another asks

"Like we stated it happen Friday in practice I got into a little tangle at the time i didn't think anything of it” Sid says

“ how can you be sure it didn't happen at World Cup “ the first reporter asks again

“I don't know why everyone thinks that's where it happen it didn't happen there so there's so reason to even bring it up it happen Friday” Sid says

"Do you know exactly when it happen then” another asks

"Oh yeah looking back on Friday I got tangled up like we said and Friday night I was little tired I thought but by Saturday morning I wasn't feeling well there was a headache and it was bad enough I let the trainers know about it” Sid says

“Can you tell us exactly what happen in practice” someone asks

"Think we have been over this already” Sid says

“Yeah but we don't have a clear understanding of that happen there to cause it” someone says

"Look it happen at practice on Friday like l said I am not trying to hide something or make stuff up it happen but believe what you want and trust me if you think I wanted this to happen and to be out for any games you don't know me at all it's killing me not to be out there and especially for our first home game and to raise the banners” Sid says he was beyond pissed

Finally the PR people said that his media available was over and he was never so happy he was so mad right now


“Sorry about all that” Jen the one PR girl says

"I knew it was coming but I am not going to have them say it happen somewhere it didn't so I am done with this for today” he says

“Well that's all we needed you for anyways” she says

“Good” Sid says

He saw Mario standing at the doorway and says

“i am sorry I shouldn't have lost it with them but I was so done with them saying stuff not true” he says


“Actually I was going to say i am proud you didn't lost it like you could have but you stood your ground” Mario says

“Thanks that coming from you means a lot” Sid says

"Now what I really came down was to see How you are Nathalie was worried and also now I hear there a girl that more than a friend now so want to tell me about that” Mario say smiling

“Who told you?” He asks

" Oh come on Geno telling everyone that will Listen” Mario says laughing

" Damn him” Sid says

" Hey it's not a bad thing and it's about time” Mario says

“Yeah yeah I know” Sid says “Be ready for Nathalie call” Mario says smiling

"Oh I know that's coming” Sid says

“Yes it is now let Pascal take you home and rest some we will see how tomorrow goes and if you can skate” Mario says

" Mario thanks seriously for everything all these years” Sid says

" Hey you are like a another son to us so we will always be here no matter what” Mario say

"Even if my hockey careers over “Sid asks

"Even then but that's not now you will Be back your knocked down a little right now but you will rise back up you always do no fears” Mario says
