Knocked Down, Rise Above

Chapter 1

The first few days in back in Pittsburgh were crazy as Sid got back into practices with the team and all. He was happy to be back with the team plus Cassie was at his house. It was the night after he got home from practice he had to leave early in the morning with the team to visit the White House.

He walked into his kitchen when he got home to Cassie dancing around making dinner
“You know you didn't have to make dinner” he says to her

“I wanted to plus you need to eat more home cooked meals you know” Cassie says giving him a look he knew so well

“Yeah I know so what are you making it smells good” Sid says he was so happy to have her here

“Chicken stry fry it's good for you” she says

“I am sure it is and will be good with you cooking it” Sid says

Good can you get the plates out for us” Cassie says they were too high up for her with how short she was Sid laughed as he got them out and says “I might need to move these while you hear I know you hate asking for help”

“Shut up” Cassie says trying not to laugh as she finished the food up They sit down to eat

“You have to be up early right” Cassie asks Sid

“Yeah pretty early to met the team so we can fly out” Sid says

“Are you excited” Cassie asks him

“Yeah I mean it's an honor and the team deserves it” he says

“But what wrong” Cassie says

“It's nothing wrong I am excited to go” Sid says

“Sidney out with it” Cassie says using his full first name meaning she wanted him to be truthful

"I am happy to go really Cassie it's just I finally got back here to practices with the team and that a whole day away” Sid says

"Yeah that's what I thought Sid your ready trust me you've been ready before World Cup and that put you even more ready one day away from hockey won't kill ya” Cassie says smiling at him.

"Your right how about I clean this up and we can watch a movie before bed” he says

"My pick” Cassie says raising an eyebrow

" I guess so” Sid says knowing he never be able to tell her no

Cassie went into the room to pick a movie she knew Sid wouldn't say anything on what she picked but she wanted something they both would like she saw miracle and remembered they had watched it before She put it in without him knowing what it was Sid brought in popcorn and drinks Cassie was on the couch with a blanket

“Did you pick a movie” Sid asks

"Yep already in the player just waiting for you so I can turn it on” Cassie says as she turns it on

"And here I thought it was going to be some chick flick” Sid says smiling seeing what it was

"Nope I know this is one of your fave movies so I put it on” she says

"And you know me so well and that's why I am so glad your here” Sid says as he sat down beside her to watch it They started to watch it half way through it Cassie had laid her head on his shoulder almost ready to fall asleep.
