kind of a long chapter so sorry but think you all will like it special moments and a little
drama in it

Chapter 25


They had won the game Sid was happy they had won he headed down to the locker room to talk to the guys Cassie and his parents went down to the lounge to wait for him Everyone one had gotten showers Kris came out and says to Sid “do you want to go out with us” “

"No thanks” Sid says

“Come on man” Geno says disappointed

“G it's not that I don't want to but my parents came into town so I was thinking late dinner with them and Cassie so I can spend some time with them” Sid says

"Parents in town wow” Geno says happy he loved Sid parents

“Why don't you come out with us G for dinner” Sid says

“I don't want to step in on family time” Geno says

“You wouldn't be plus I am sure they love to see you too” Sid says

“Ok I like that” Geno says

“Then it's settled let's go out and find out where we should go” Sid says


Cassie was glad to see him when he came out “What do you guys think about getting dinner and I told G he could come with us” Sid says

“If that ok” Geno says

"Dinner sounds great and you are more than welcome to come with us Geno “ Troy says

Geno smiles and says “thanks

” “Where do you want to go” Trina asks

“We didn't have a place in mind” Sid says

" What about the Italian place out closer to home they will be open and that place is so good” Cassie says

“Sounds good “ Troy says

"It does” Trina says

“Good that's where we will go” Sid says

“I meet you there” Geno says as they all walk out to Their cars It was a good game and a win thats good for the team” Troy says to Sid

“Yeah” he says Cassie knew he must being having thoughts about not playing again

“You will be back out there before you know it” Troy says to him sensing what was bothing him

“I know I just don't think before our first road game” Sid says

“So you miss one road game I am thinking you will be back before the end of the month” Troy says

"Yeah” Sid says just looking out the window. No one said anything else the rest of the drive to the restaurant. Cassie also picked this place knowing they should be able to get a table kind of in the back of the restaurant not to be bothering too much Geno pulled in right after then and they all walked in and were seated

“I love their chicken Parm here” Cassie says

“I know baby it's one of your fave meals especially here” Sid says “

It is” Cassie says

"That sounds good I will have to try that” Trina says Everyone ordered and enjoyed their meal. Cassie was glad that Sid asked Geno to come him, Sid and Troy were talking hockey about last year Stanley Cup win. She knew that was good memories to remember and talk about and she hoped it would help Sid

After dinner they headed home when they got home everyone headed to their rooms

You okay baby” Sid asks Cassie “

Just worried about you” Cassie says

“I hate that I am stressing you and worrying you I always hated when you had to worry when I been injured” Sid says

“And I am trying not to but I love you and it's hard not to” Cassie says

“I love you too you need to relax some baby you want to get a bath” Sid asks

"Why don't we both go relax in one you have that huge tub in there” Cassie says

“I love to baby but” Sid starts

"What's wrong baby” Cassie says

“Nothing wrong” Sid says

“Sidney” Cassie says

“Ok I love to take bath with you but also worried we both will want more and sorry baby I can't right now. it's not that I don't want to make love to you though so please don't think that.” Sid says

“Oh baby I know we can't right now and I know if we could you would make love to me. I love you and just wanted us to both relax because relaxing would be good for you too baby” Cassie says

“That sounds perfect then baby” Sid says kissing her taking her hand to walk into the bathroom

" Are you ok with this for in it” Cassie asks holding up one of her fave bubbles baths

"Yeah baby if that's the one you want” he says He got the water just right as she added the bubble bath in then he helps her in and got in behind her and pulls her so she was laying back against him

"How did you know just what I needed” Cassie says relaxing

“Well I know you love baths and you definitely need to relax after the past week I hate that I am putting you thru all this” Sid says

"Baby you are not putting my thru anything I love you and want to be here with you i am here for highs as well as the lows I am here for it all baby please know this” Cassie says

“ I just never what to put you through the injuries and stuff with my career “ Sid says

“Sidney I will take the injuries if they happen if it means you're still doing what you love and getting achievements you want like Olympic gold medals, Stanley Cups and World Cup Championships” Cassie says

“I do love hockey it's been my life but you have to know I love you too and your are the most important thing in my life” Sid says

“I know baby “ Cassie says kissing his hand

"Good baby” Sid says

They relaxed a while in there before getting out and going to bed

Over the next few days Sid skated and helped the team they had went to the last home game then the team went to leave for a one game road trip. Sid would stay home in Pittsburgh and skate and work on his recovery he hated not being there with the team It was the night of the road trip game Sid his parents and Cassie were watching it at his house after having dinner together

Sid was watching focusing on the tv watching the game he was already frustrated with not playing and being there and the game wasn't going well Cassie hated seeing his like this she wanted to comfort him but not sure how to do that while he was watching the game She walked out to the kitchen to get a drink,

Trina followed her out there and says “it will be ok”

“I know I just hate seeing him upset and I don't know what to do about it” Cassie says

"Yeah can't do anything til after the game cause he going to be so into watching the game but after you will figure out you know him very well” Trina says

It was the end of the second period and Sid was pacing they had one player go off ice ice after a high stick and now Kris wasn't back out there for the third period which worried him

Damn it” Sid says throwing the tv remote as the other team scored on them again they didn't have much time in the period Cassie prayed something good would happen

“God damn it G stop taking stupid penalties for god sake” Sid yells after Geno too another stick penalty

Finally the game was over with the Penguins losing Sid was so pissed he walked out of the living room and to his office Troy went to go up and talk to him Cassie stops him and says “do you mind if I go”

“No go ahead but if you need me to come in there come get me” Troy says

"I will “ Cassie says as she heads to his office Cassie didn't even knock on the door she opened it and went to go in

"Just leave me alone” Sid says

"Not happening Sidney “ Cassie says

" I don't want to talk so leave me alone and get out” he says he was still upset

“You don't have to talk but at some point you have to because this isn't good either” Cassie says

“Not good let's see my team the team I am captain of just lost. I have a teammate that took a high stick and didn't come back and Kris missed the third period. Kris doesn't miss ice time don't you get that I have so much going through my mind and worried about you can't even fathom so leave me alone” he yells

Cassie couldn't believe he actually yelled she backed out of the room crying Troy knew things weren't going to be good. he had given them a few minutes before heading that way when he saw her crying “This is why I wanted to talk to him let him lash out and take it out on me” Troy says

“I never seen those type of moods after a loss even when he couldn't play” Cassie says

“That's cause he kind of protected you from seeing those but it's good you did finally see it cause it's going to happen again sometime and know you know” Troy says

Yeah” Cassie says

“Go take care yourself sweetheart and I will take care of this and him” Troy says as Cassie goes out to the kitchen where Trina was making hot chocolate already

Troy went into the office Sidney had heard the door open he says “I told you to get out”

"You can lash out and take it all out on me but don't you dare take it out on Cassie any longer” Troy says

"I told her to get ou she didn't listen” Sid says

“Yeah cause she loves you and is worried about you. She is going thru all this too it's not just you especially now that you are in a relationship. She is trying to help the only way she knows how and this is hard on her too” Troy says

“Hard on her what about me it's killing me don't any of you get this what if my career is over then what happens. I am letting my team down my team is hurting and guys hurt. They are so out of sync and we are falling apart” Sid tells

“Sidney your career is not over and you need to realize that” Troy says

“Once I am cleared and can play again I will truly believe it right now even thought I know it it's in the back of my head” he says

“Well get that out of your head also you go help the team during practices see what needs worked on and help fix it. Be the captain I know you are that everyone knows you are and so what you can for you team while you are out” Troy says

"I I am an ass right” Sid says

“No but this isn't you and you know it. Usually for the most part you're so calm and collective you have always been. But you have to realize that now Cassie is part of all this you both are in this together. You guys are in a relationship so you have to let her in and let her know what's going on. But in a more calm way” Troy says

"I know I don't know why I yelled” Sid says

“I do cause when you guys were just best friend you always protected her from seeing when you got like this. Which was very rare but now you can't with you guys being together.” Troy says

"How bad is she” Sid asks

“Well think you did a number on her emotions as she was crying”Troy says

“Damn it” Sid says

"Go fix it” Troy says

“How” Sid says

"First go talk to her and tell her you're sorry. Then do something special here since it's late and add a date for tomorrow she will forgive you. But you go fix this or you're dealing with me and my wrath cause besides hockey she the best thing to ever happen to you” Troy says

“She is the best thing ever even more than hockey and I know you would have every right to read me the riot act” Sid says


“Yep now go” Troy says Sid got up and walked to find Cassie he found her in the kitchen drinking hot chocolate with his mom when his mom saw him she walked out to give them time just them

He wrapped his arms around her and says “I am sorry”

“Sidney I know you are and I forgive you but please just don't shut me out. I know this is hard but I want to help” Cassie says

"I know and when I can't play or something major brings the team down and we having bad games I get like this it's not often and I know it's not truly me and I was trying for you never to see that and what can happen. Now that we are in this relationship I know I can't hide it from you. I can't promise I won't get like this again but I can promise not to take it out on you like I did tonight cause that wasn't right.” Sid says

"I know baby and I love that about you” Cassie says

“I love you now I was thinking a movie in bed cuddling and tomorrow maybe we can go out and do something that you would like” Sid says

Movie in bed sounds great and I like to go out with you tomorrow baby” Cassie says

" Good baby let's go up to the bedroom” Sid says kissing her and taking her hand and they head up
