Chapter 26


The next morning Sid went downstairs to make breakfast for Cassie in bed then figured they plan what they wanted to do for the day How Cassie” Trina asks she was in the kitchen making breakfast

“Still sleeping I am going to make her breakfast in bed then we are making plans for the day” Sid says

"That sounds good me and your dad have plans for today but maybe we can all have dinner tonight “ Trina says as Sid gets the stuff out for chocolate chip pancakes knowing they were Cassie fave

"That sounds good what do you guys have planned” Sid asks

“We will tell you later tonight” Trina says

"Mom what's up” Sid asks knowing something was up

"It's nothing bad” Trina says

"Ok “ Sid says as he starts the pancakes

“Promise we will talk about it later” she says

" Alright” Sid says as he finished the pancakes and scrambled eggs

"Here I just finished the sausage so take so of that too” Trina says

Sid made two plates and got everything on the tray and carried it to his room Cassie had just woken up when he come in “I was just getting ready to get up to find you” she says

“Well I am glad you didn't or you would have ruined this” Sid says

“What's all this” Cassie says

“Breakfast in bed for us thought we could enjoy this then we can do whatever you want for a date for us” he says

"You know what I really want to do but not sure we can” Cassie says

"What is it” he asks “Ice skating” Cassie says they hadn't really skated just skated in a while

"I think we can manage that I mean I am skating every day and just us skating will be fine would you like that” he asks

" I really would” she says

“Well then let me see which place will work best and we will go baby it will be nice then we can have a late lunch somewhere” he says

“That sounds perfect but now let's enjoy breakfast together baby this looks amazing” Cassie says kissing him

“Good I am glad baby I love you so much” Sid says kissing back They ate breakfast and enjoy a little time just relaxing then Sid made a few calls to see where they would go skate

" Ok baby get ready and wear warm clothes” Sid says

"Can I pick one of your jerseys out” Cassie asks

“Yeah baby you can pick out any of them” Sid says

"Thanks baby where are we going” Cassie asks

“The arena we can have the ice for a few hours” Sid says

“You're sure it's ok” Cassie asks

@Yep I made calls to see what was going on at there first and it's free” Sid says

Cassie smiled and went to get ready Sid was happy and glad Cassie was happy he got ready to go they had one stop to make on way there cause Sid wanted to get her new skates Cassie got dressed in her leggings and a long sleeve warm shirt then went to pick out one of Sid jersey’s she knew just which one she wanted she went for his Juniors one she loved it even know it was old she put her hair up in a ponytail and heads out

“I love when you wear my jerseys” Sid says

“I love wearing any of them baby. You ready to go” Cassie asks

"Yep just one stop going to get you new skates cause you will be skating a lot more this year” Sid says

“Ok but I want hockey skates not figure skates” Cassie says

“Oh I know I am taking you to a place I trust for those so no worries baby” Sid says as they head out

"Good” Cassie says

They went to get the skates which took longer than expected with Sid looking at different ones before picking a pair for Cassie

Cassie had to laugh at how he was about anything hockey even when it wasn't for him but her

They got to the arena parked and walked in they sat down to put their skates once they were ready Sid took Cassie hand and led her out to the ice as they started to skate Cassie says “I missed this”

" Yeah we haven't skated together since last Christmas when you were here that was great” Sid says remembered when they had went to the Penguins holiday skate together

"Yeah it was I was so glad that I was home and you asked me to go with you” Cassie says

"No one I rather ask or have with me” Sid says as they skate slowly holding hands

“What's your favorite memory here?” Cassie asks

“Hmm that's a tough one there are so many so I will give you a few. The first game here and I say bringing the cup out here last week” Sid says

“Those are two good memories” Cassie says

“How about yours from here” Sid says

“Well I have to say when you brought the cup out last week and when we skated here last year” Cassie says

“Well I plan to give you many more good amazing memories of this place” Sid says

"It's that a fact” Cassie asks

"Oh yeah trust me “ Sid says

"Oh I trust you captain I trust you” Cassie says

“Good” Sid says kissing her

" What are you thinking about “ Cassie asks as he stops skating when they reach the one end of the rink

“Lots of things like hanging more banners up there. Having you here for all the moments. Later down the road our kids skating out on this ice” Sid says

Wow” was all Cassie could say

"What baby” Sid says

"You just caught me by surprise with the kids thing” Cassie says

“Why baby” Sid says

“I just wasn't expecting it” Cassie says with tears

“Hey I can promise you here even without a ring that you are my only one you're it baby. I don't know when for sure it's going to happen baby but I am going to ask you to marry me and be my wife” Sid says kissing her

"I never thought one of the things I pretty sure I know for a little while I wanted to happen will come true some day” Cassie say

"Well it will be coming true baby. In fact til day when it happens and I ask you with the engagement ring I want to get you a ring still now like a promise ring” Sid says to her


“Baby you don't have to do that” Cassie says

“Yeah I think I do cause you mean so much to me and I need you to know this” Sid says

“Baby I don't need a ring for you to show me how much I mean to you or how much you love me” Cassie says

“Ok baby but I am still getting you the ring” Sid says taking her and skating her towards center ice

"I can't wait til you are back on this ice in uniform playing baby” Cassie says

"I know I can't wait either hopefully soon” Sid says

"Yeah baby” Cassie says

“I am hoping by the next road trip” Sid says

“The west coast one “ Cassie says

“Yeah baby” Sid says “


"That will suck I won't get to see your first game back” Cassie says disappointed

“Well if I don't get a home game in before the road trip the first game is actually in Philly. You could come out for that I know it's Philly and not your fave place but still” Sid says

"Oh I will be there I love that” Cassie says kissing him “Good baby” Sid says

They skated a while longer then went to have a late lunch before heading back to Sid’s place when they got back he saw his parents were back he still wondered what they were doing today They walk in and his mom says I put dinner on just now but it will take a while”

“Thanks Trina” Cassie says

“No problem did you two have fun” Trina asks

“We did” Cassie says smiling

“She right we did. Did you and dad and are you going to tell me what is going on now” Sid asks

"Let's go in the living room with your dad and we will talk” Trina says They walked in and sit down Sid was really wondering what was going on he was a little worried

“So today me and you're mom looked at houses here we want to get a house here and stay here more often” Troy says

"Are you serious” Sid says

"Yep we found two here in this area we really like” Troy says

“Wow I can't believe this I would love for you guys to be around more” Sid says smiling

"So you're good with this” Troy asks

"Yeah I am good with it what about Taylor” Sid asks

"We actually had mentioned it to her before and she fine with it. Mostly we be here for the season like you and back in Cole Harbor for summers and a little here and there during the season” Trina says

"Yeah we been thinking about it for a while and make the decision to definitely do it on the trip down here this time” Troy says

“Well can I see the houses you looking at and when do you guys think you will decide” Sid asks

"We can show you and we plan on picking between the two this weekend and putting in the offer” Troy says

"Wow this really is happening” Sid says he always wanted his parents closer but there seem like it wasn't ever the right time and now it was he was happy
