Chapter 41

Magical Christmas

The team had a game the day before Christmas Eve then they were have the holidays off as it was their off week for the season. Sid was happy that it fell during this week it he was able to plan something even more special for Cassie and loved that he could do that.

They had won the game and would go into the break on a high. For Christmas Eve Sid and Cassie were hosting some of the guys from the team at the house for the afternoon then Christmas they would split time between both of their families

“This was nice of you guys to have us over for the day man” Kris says to Sid

“We are happy to do it for the team plus it's nice to know that the team is like a family” Sid says

“Oh and thanks to you and Cassie for the tree for Alex he loves it especially since it's in his room it was perfect man” Kris says

“I was glad to do it and happy he loves it” Sid says

"Hey we should have a party for New Years I will host” Geno says to Kris and Sid

"G that would be awesome but I won't be in town” Sid says

“What you mean not in town” Geno says

"She doesn't know yet but one of Cassie gifts are plane tickets I am going to take her to the house in Cole Harbor for the break” Sid says

"Really wow that will be nice” Kris says

“Yeah I think she just needs a few days away. Between the concussion with me at the start of the season and her aunt at Thanksgiving I thought a couple days away just us two would be nice and no better place than my house actually our house that's another thing I want to do while up there get her name added on the property” Sid says

“She will like going to the house good idea” Geno says

“Let's hope so” Sid says

“She will it will be nice for you both” Kris says

“Yeah I think so” Sid says

Everyone spend time together and Sid and Cassie has gotten all the kids gifts for Christmas Later after everyone left they were watching Christmas Vacation in the game room Sid says so I was thinking you can have one of your gifts now”

"Really” Cassie says

“Yep” Sid says handing her a wrapped box She opens it and finds a copy of their boarding passes and says

"we are going to Nova Scotia”

“Yeah to spend the break in the house in Cole Harbor and spend New Year's there that's why I gave it to you now cause we leave the morning after Christmas figure you might want to pick what you pack” Sid says

"Just us going” Cassie asks

"Yep just us figure some nice alone time just me and you” Sid says

“That sounds perfect god I love you this was all you had to get me baby” Cassie says kissing him

“No it's not but I am so glad your happy about it” Sid says kissing her

"Well now I have to pack” Cassie says

“Yep you do “Sid days

“Do I need anything special to wear for New Years” Cassie says

“Whatever you want we will just be at the house just us don't feel like going out that night” Sid says

“Ok baby I would rather be at the house just us anyways before the break is over some time for relaxing” Cassie says

Cassie went to pack some stuff she wanted to bring Sid had a packed some and just needed to finish up They both finished up so they wouldn't have to do any of it on Christmas night

. They spend the rest of the night relaxing watching a few movies Cassie has planned breakfast at their house for their families so Sid parents and Taylor would be here along with her parents and Hunter.

Then Cassie and Sid would go spend a few hours at her grandparents house before having dinner with his family at his parents house here.

They had breakfast and exchanged gifts with everyone. Cassie had gotten Sid a few new dress shirts she knew he like along with a few other things. she also had made him a scrapbook from last season of including all the the cup win and his day with the cup. “Baby this is amazing I love it truly this is my favorite gift it perfect all the memories of last year” Sid says

"I am glad baby” Cassie says

Sid had gotten Cassie some of her favorite stuff from bath and body works. He also got her a new watch that she loved. A pandora bracelet with a few charms on it one of which was hockey sticks along with a few other things.

"Baby I love everything but the watch was perfect and the bracelet I love” Cassie says

“I am glad the bracelet figure over time and special moments and stuff we can add to it” Sid says


They went to Cassie grandparents where they had their family gift exchange and spend a little time with them before they went over to Sid parents for dinner.

After dinner Sid and Cassie headed home they were leaving early in the morning Troy was dropping them off so they didn't have to worry about leaving the car at the airport.

Cassie was looking forward to spending time in Canada in Sid place out there. She loved that place it was relaxing and just being able to have time for them would be nice.

Sid was excited to be taking Cassie to Cole Harbor. It would be nice to get some relaxation time before the break ended. He was also was looking forward to New Years with Cassie and what the new year would bring.
