The other Gally
The footsteps stop a few feet in front of us. I break the kiss and look up to see who is standing right there. I let out a sign of relief. It's only Alex. For a second I thought that Gally was there. Never thought I'd be so happy to see him.
"So, I see you guys really like each other," chuckles Alex. He's one of the funny guys on the team. For whatever reason, I'm the one he messes with.
"Chucky," I glare at him.
"I get it. You guys want to be alone. Just use a condom," jokes Alex and he runs away before I could do anything.
"That Alex. He's hilarious," says Stacy and she gets out her car keys. "Well, I got to get going. Brendan is waiting for me."
"Okay, see me later?" I ask not wanting for her to leave.
"Of course. I will swing by your place tonight," says Stacy and she gets in her car and leaves. I just stand there for a minute as she heads to wherever she is supposed to meet Gally at. I snap out of my gaze and get in my own car. Some of the players from the team ask me to go to a bar through a group text. Of course I replied saying "yes". It's always good to spend time with the team. I arrive at the bar that the team is meeting at. Stacy, Gally and Alex are the only ones that aren't there. I know that Stacy has plans with her brother, but I'm not sure where Alex is.
"Pricey! Glad you can make it," says Max Pacioretty.
"A little early for drinking, don't ya think?" I say. I can tell some of my teammates are already drunk. This would be way more fun if Stacy was here.
I meet Brendan at his house. It's been so long since the last time I hung out with my brother. It's so nice to hang out with family. He is the only family member that I have right now until our parents arrive next week. They are going to want to know how this season is going so far. I feel bad that I can't tell them about Carey. It's also going to be tough to not say anything. Brendan doesn't suspect a thing. He can't know.
"It is so nice to be able to hang out with family," I say as we sit on the couch and watch TV.
"Yeah. I can't remember the last time we just sat down to watch TV. I haven't seen my own sister in what seems like forever," says Brendan as he flips through the channels. Nothing on so he switches to Netflix.
"Mom and dad are flying in next week. Not sure if they told you," I say.
"Oh, yeah they told me. They are going to want to know how your season is going seem how this is your first season. I have NHL experience. I'm proud that you are able to show the world what you can do."
"I'm so lucky to have a big brother like you. I wouldn't have this opportunity if it wasn't for you, and I guess Carey played a part in that," I say not realizing what I just said.
"Carey? What does he have to do with your success?" asks Brendan confused as to why I mentioned Carey. Uh-oh. I need to come up with a lie to hide my relationship with Carey.
"Uh, yeah. He played a small part in my success. He tells me where I should be in the defensive zone so that I can play proper defense," I lie. I feel bad about it, but I'm scared that Brendan would be mad if he found out. I need to tell him, but maybe when the time is right.
"Oh, yeah he tells the defense where they need to be."
"And other teammates are helpful too, but not as much."
"Oh? Why is that?"
"Well, they need to focus on playing their positions so that they can get the puck out of the zone."
"Well, Carey need to play his position too."
"Well, yes, but he sees everything that is going on around him."
"Yeah, he is a great goalie."
"You know, ugh, how am I going to say this," I start to speak before I can realize what I am doing. "There is something I need to tell you and you need to promise to not freak out."
I am just doing short chapters seem how I don't have a lot of time to update. I just threw a lot of nonsense into this one to lead up to the end of the chapter. Stay tuned to find out what happens!
