It all started in Dallas

After lunch Sid headed off to the arena to get ready for the game. He had invited you to come but you knew you needed to get some rest for your health to get better. You and the boys ordered in and watched the game at home. It was still weird to see Sid on tv and know that he liked you for you. All this time you’d gone on dates here and there but knew those guys only liked you for what you were and even how much money you made, others eventually got intimidated by you. Sidney however seemed different towards you which you liked.
“Anything you wanna talk about? Like that date?” Jake asked you carefully, “I’m assumin it went well because you look happy and because we’re watchin the game”
“It wasn’t a date buttt tomorrow we’ll have our first date, so I can say its goin well…...so far” you said happy yet nervously
“So far? (Y/N) I haven’t seen you this happy over anyone and I can tell that he comes with great intentions especially in never wanting to hurt you. I’m tellin you darlin’ he’s the one for you” Jake replied
“Yeah we’ll see Jake” you said as you sipped your beer I sure hope he is right
The Pens ended up winning the game but you knocked before the highlights even started. When you woke up in the mornin you had a few texts from Sid.
Sid: Good night get some rest
Good mornin wear somethin casual today :)
You smiled as you read the texts causin your stomach to flutter. You weren’t sure what to wear but luckily it had been warm enough outside to wear a nice sundress. You kept your hair in loose waves with a braid on each side.
As you were upstairs listenin to music softly you heard Jake yell for you, he’s here oh gosh
What surprised you was how Sidney didn’t text you that he was here, he actually walked up to your house to get you, that you liked, that he was a little old fashioned in a way.
He was dressed casual in jeans, a long sleeve shirt and a black hat, simple but yet he looked very handsome and smelled very very good.
The guys were of course tryin to tease you two but you hurried Sid out before it got out of control.
“Don’t bring her too late” Jake said tryin not to laugh
“Yes sir” Sid said smiling
As you headed towards the car he opened the door for you good another positive point for you Sid
It was a little awkward at first as it was one of the first few times Sid and you had been alone, this time more though because it was an actual date.
You guys had small talk about your day and how the weather was nice.
Sid drove for about 30 mins outside the city into a smaller town that seem country-like.
You noticed that he had changed the station to your favorite which you had appreciated internally because it helped you ease your nerves.
As you guys finally arrived, you went on a gravel road and saw that there was a lake. It looked stunnin as the sun was just about to set.
There was a picnic table on the dock with a food basket already set on there. Sid must’ve read your mind “the people around here helped me out in setting it up so it can be ready for when we arrived”
“Must be nice” you teased him.
You guys sat down and enjoyed a nice meal of chicken parmesan, sweet tea, and cheesecake.
“You tryin to get me fat Sidney hhaah” you said as you tried not to stuff your face but the food was so delicious
“Hahaha, you and me both, this is good eh?” “So where do you see yourself in five years (Y/N)?”
“What is this an interview hahah.....definitely top notch in my department, having a house of my own, ownin more dogs aha, just improvin myself to be the best version of myself, you?”
“Well that’s good, so do I, uhm, I mean I still would like to still be playing and considered as the best in the league, what about personally?”
“Like marriage and such?”
“Yeah such” he asked a little nervous
“I haven’t put too much thought into it, like I think about it here and there but I don’t like settin a timeline for myself when it comes to that because everytime I had it never went well, so I took that pressure off and now it’s like whatever happens happens you know?”, “ It’d be great to at least be in a serious relationship with someone who makes me better but that I can help them improve too, the most, I’d like to be married and maybe with a baby or at least planning it haha”
“So no kids until five years?” he asked curiously
“More like 7 haha just kiddin, I wouldn’t like to have kids at all right now, not even in the next few years, I’m still establishin myself”
“Right”
“What about you Sidney?”
“Five years? Married for sure with one or two little ones” he said entirely sure of himself, “but who knows?” he added as he stuffed his face with cheesecake
“You know, I really should NOT be eating this especially during the season” he added
“Same, so if my career goes down, I’ll blame you Sidney” you tried givin him a peircin look but failed
“You don’t scare me woman”
“Is that so?”
“Not one bit” he said nonchalantly
“I am the one with the handcuffs”
“And I’m the tall and big one” he winked
"Just because I'm short doesn't mean I can't hold my own"
“Uhh huh we’ll see” he smiled in a evil but adorable way
You guys continued to talk and found some few common interests here and there, you liked how you both had your differences but somehow complemented each other.
Sid thought the same way as he couldn’t wait to have another date with you even though he was on one.
It felt like time flew before you knew it, it was late.
Sid drove you home, walked you to your door and you knew he was going to kiss you when……..
“Blewp blewp, we have a call on a missin girl” said Jake in his “serious” tone
“Missin people don’t count if its only been 4 hours Jake” you said lookin at him appalled
Sid just looked like he’d seen a ghost
“You okay there Sidney?” you asked him
“Uuhh yeah I was just caught off guard, well I’ll see you later (Y/N)” he said as he rubbed the back of his head with his hand and walked off.
“Really Jake?”
“Yea, I’m makin Mr. Crosby work for it” he said smilin
“Excuse me, isn’t that my decision”
“Yeah but it’s nice to y’all flustered haha”
“Gooodnigghhht Jakeee!” you yelled as you went upstairs to your room
You were almost fallin asleep but waitin for Sid to text you
Sid: just got home
Not bad for our first date :)
